[D4, EN] Under Cover (Open)

[Kaiu Setsu]

Once inside, the Kaiu takes one of the corner seats and reclines it comfortably. He also produces a bag of rice crackers and offers both, "There's a mix of salty and sweet. How many sweet ones would we say Hato-san could find?"

[Kuni Koyuki]

"I have no basis to guess, Kaiu-sama. Do you intend to have Hato-san separate them?" she asks, a slight uncertain quirk to her brow at the question.

[Hato]

Hato had hoped that the kissing episode had been the end of it. That the Kuni had shocked the Kaiu back into proper behavior. But, of course, denied his kiss, now he wanted to be entertained by the ronin doing tricks for food. Like a dog. He made it very clear that that's all she was before the Crabs, an idle amusement.

It was humiliating. But Hato had gone hungry enough to be unwilling to put pride before food.

"This one will endeavor to find them all for you, Lord Crab." she said, taking the offered bag.

And then she just started eating the crackers. One after the other. The treat soon enough turned to ash with nothing to drink along side the sugar and salt, but she was determined to get through the bag as best she could.

[Kaiu Setsu]

"What? No!" He facepalms as Hato really does dig into the crackers. He was just trying to get an innuendo about the information she might have gotten. Frustrated that he can't reach out the crackers bag two chairs to the left –– specially now that they are nearly gone –– he says, "What's wrong with you people... haven't you ever watched secret agent movies?"

As the movie starts and the lighting is gone, he starts to whisper closer, "I wanted to know the amount of points that were identified. The sweet in-between the salt. The goodies in the middle of the normies."

[Hato]

"What? No!" He facepalms as Hato really does dig into the crackers. He was just trying to get an innuendo about the information she might have gotten. Hato looked embarrassed and coughed.

"this one apologizes....lord crab" her voice lowered and strained due to the incredibly parched nature the food had left her in. "lord crab....is too clever...for this one. there were...20....sweet crackers.

[Kaiu Setsu]

"That's remarkable." He nods, and then, noticing Hato might have a dry mouth from so many crackers, he says, "I'm going to get us something to drink. No need to apologize. I should have worded better."

OOC: Sorry for the confusion there. Should have been clearer with the innuendo. In any case, as mentioned prior, it is a funny scene (at least in my head)

[Kuni Koyuki]

Koyuki murmurs something to herself that never rises to the level of being discernable even if it was audible. With a rotation of her shoulders she leans her head back against the chair and stairs up at that dark ceiling among for a good few seconds. Speaking quietly just as the others, underneath the movies opening bit, "We are in remarkable positioning, Kaui-sama. Please though," she says, shifting forward in her seat. "Allow me, mm?" she says, and then glances to meet contact with Setsu long enough to gain for non-verbal assent, or verbal if he so preferred.

[Kaiu Setsu]

He nods to Koyuki and then shows his hand with palms open at he level of his shoulders as if in a surrender, whispers back, "The game is in your courtroom. Let me know when I am needed. I just got curious, that's all."

[Kuni Koyuki]

"You are fine, Kaiu-sama. Thank you for that, and I appreciate it. This time I meant getting the drinks, however," she offers, maintaining that lower volume, with a slight deferential dip of her head and then proceeds to get up. Heading down, and out, to go fetch the merry group a round of drinks.

[Hato]

He nods to Koyuki and then shows his hand with palms open at he level of his shoulders as if in a surrender, whispers back, "The game is in your courtroom. Let me know when I am needed. I just got curious, that's all."

With the Kuni departed and the movie truly underway, Hato offered a deep seated bow to the Kaiu.

"This one must apologize to lord crab. she offered quietly "this one has thought of him poorly needlessly. lord crab has been nothing but kind to this one, but this one has seen much cruelty in this world hidden behind smiles, and this one has recently heard many, many unflattering rumors about lord crab. this one mistook his actions, and thought poorly of him, acted rashly, and this one should not have done that. this one humbly apologizes to lord crab,

[Kaiu Setsu]

He tries to hold a smile of contempt and leans further so she can hear better, "That is part my fault, I fucked up with a couple of posts online and some fans got really angry about what I said. Anyhow, no regrets. A samurai learns from mistakes and moves forward."

[Hato]

Hato nodded.

"Nor should a samurai fear death, but this one did not realize lord crab was involved with lady crab's game. it strikes this one as uncessarily risky. if this one fails, this one will try and resist giving away anyone else but.... she said, looking up at the movie playing on the screen.

"life does not shine as brightly as it does on the screen." she said, worried about the Kaiu getting in serious trouble.

[Kaiu Setsu]

Looking at the movie screen for a moment, he returns to whisper back to Hato, “There’s no greater sacrifice than falling in the defense of those that protect our Empire. That’s our sacred duty.”

Of course, he meant the Crab duty as a whole, which might not be Hato’s view. Yet, it goes in line with the tradition of allowing a Ronin into proving themselves to his Clan.
