Mariko would linger and loiter a little until the machines were least occupied to maintain her low profile. First, she would try her hand at the claw machine and come up with absolutely nothing with the dreaded stainless steel pincer. It was a bit irksome, especially when the others made it look so easy and she had her eyes set on getting a shark of her own.

Wanting to blow off some steam with her embarrassing attempt, she tried her hand at Time Rescue and managed to get to the end of the game by being really cautious. Her gun skills weren't rusty at the very least and it did make her consider hitting the range again in the future. She did recently get herself a nice bright red blaster she could be using more.

Finally, she would dance away the rest of the time at the arcades on Moshi Moshi Super Sunrise. She wouldn't dare pick a complex song but instead went with one where she step and jive with ease. There was no sense in ruining her evening by trying too hard.

In the end, she only got some 'measly' 200 tickets.

The Detective rarely had the opportunity to play in an arcade. Until recently, he and his Kitsune companion had been too busy. The sounds and lights were so very exciting. He was constantly looking about, drawn to some new stimulus. He barely noticed Kiyoshi controlling the flying thing or or pointing the light maker. But, Dancing was something he couldn't ignore.


It wasn't the normal routine, but the Detective followed the Fox step for step.

After the hints from the Utaku, Kioku was intent on trying - again - to get that old plushie. Her sad look as she guided the crane around, trying to move around some of the toys positioned above it, were a stark contrast to the general atmosphere of the place... although in some ways, that had a comic effect of its own.

Her first effort was a wash; the second managed to at least shift some things around. But getting that plushie so deep down was still very unlikely... and so there it stayed.

Her eyes were visibly saddened even more as she blinked hard and long, as if trying to shake off frustration. Or grief... it almost looked like grief.

But all that because of a plushie? It seemed unlikely...

As the night went on and the arcade got slightly less crowded, she tried her hand at a few more games. Her attempts at Time Rescue were a total flop, but at least her run with the good and old Fighter in Flight of Glory gave her a few tickets. Flight games were an old tradition, after all - so for once experience might have helped a bit!

Woohoo! Flight of Glory, yeah!

Turbo ticket arcade night was too much fun to pass up. For starters he spent enough time in the arcade that he figured he could rack up plenty of tickets without too much effort. And tickets meant prizes!

First up it was time to show the glorious supremacy of the Bomber. Well, it did a lot of damage anyway. He cruised in under cover of fighters and interceptors before kill-stealing the crap out of the enemy capital ship! Points started pouring in and he walked away with an armful of tickets.

"I'm the golden bomber!"

Next up was hard mode Time Rescue. He had never quite the nuances of blasting the scenery, but the Firefly was a surprisingly good shot. In fact with his impressive aim he could probably have eased off on the time points. But 200 tickets was a good haul from a tough game.

To finish the night it was time for some pure old fashioned fun with Moshi Moshi Super Sunrise Dancing Inferno! He watched the crowd, gauging their mood perfectly. Selecting a Heavenly 9 classic, he pulled off a sweet routine that gained polite applause and another 100 tickets!

Armed with 700 tickets he hit the prize booth. Sadly he would have needed more wins for an actual spine drake, but after pondering his options he eventually picked up a few souvenirs of the night:

Ah, a games night! Ryuhei remembered one of those from Asakaze, it was a lot of fun! He particularly enjoyed all the speed simulators, so he began in one of those. He'd never been professionally trained as a fighter pilot, but it'd be a lie to say he had no knack for it. He chose the fastest, the most ridiculously manoeuvrable machine and surged through all the trenches of enemy capital ships to detonate their reactor cores!

It had been awhile since Akuta had blown off any steam in a relaxing way, so he decided to hit up the arcade. Holy shit it's packed in here...what is going on? All of the varied Clan samurai gave him pause, thinking it was some fancy event...but then when he was allowed in he gave a shrug. Well, can't hurt to see what I can do.

The first game the ronin stepped up to was The First Tournament. He remembered pestering his parents for the small tokens to play this game when he was a pup and they indulged him with some fun. Thankfully, he still remembered all of the old tricks and so he picked Togashi. He was regarded as a low-tier character at best, but he possessed a very effective gimmick...timer scam. He got the life lead against his opponent and performed the "Ten Steps of Heavenly Enlightenment" super which simply wasted precious seconds off the clock and his opponent fell victim to the technique in all of their rounds, not knowing that Togashi could simply be pushed out of the ring during the move.

Heading on over to Time Rescue after waiting a bit, Akuta took up the light gun and took shots at the screen, failing miserably as his either his aim was off or he simply didn't have the necessary reflexes to take the quicker shots that would have led him to victory.

The final game of the night was Flight of Glory. The wolf had never even done anything approaching piloting in his entire life, but what the hell, could be fun. He took a seat in the simulator chair and settled in. Alright, controls are a bit weird...but shooting is easy enough. And so shoot he did. Even if he wasn't the best at avoiding shots, if he killed everything on the screen before it could shoot and bomb spam away bullets that would hit him, he wouldn't die...and so he made it to the end with a modest score!

Taking up all of his tickets, he wandered off to the prize counter and considered what to get...

"Dancing Inferno? Did they start making these more... like, violent when I wasn't looking?" The latest and greatest iteration of the game she'd played the most back in school on Dawn makes Seika (age 23) feel old. What happened to the floor pad? 360-degree sensors? I usually just like... wave my arms around randomly. Is that not okay any more?

Apparently not, since the game ends her round with a morose key-change from major to minor and a rather pathetic blorping anti-fanfare. Glumly, Seika can't help but think about how making a fool of herself at dance games was a lot more fun with Wakana and the other girls around... or... or Hotaru Jun, darn him. No, she does not wonder where he is now, thanks anyway.

After that, she badly needs to vent her frustrations by shooting some virtual chumps. There's a queue for Time Rescue (it sounds like someone has found the 'infinite time points' easter egg and is holding up the line indefinitely), so she hops in the Flight of Glory cockpit and selects the ship with the biggest guns, then proceeds to blast away at space wolves and aliens with remarkable viciousness for quite some time until her mood improves. Some shockingly reckless (not to say... explosive) virtual high-speed driving provides an extra dose of serotonin to cap off the event.

Blue Moon was abuzz with players and they flitted from machine to machine to make the most of this special. However, all good things must come to an end eventually. The large red timer at the end of the arcade would countdown to the last seconds of the hour and a large blaring claxon to indicate the end of the Turbo Tickets event. The machines were still on but anyone playing them will notice the ticket yield has dropped down to a pitiful single digit. Everyone gathering at the large display to see who won this evening. It was without a doubt...
