[Miya Nishida]

It was time to take the Y4SUK1 bot to the next level. And for that, Nishida needed parts that didn't exist on Asakaze back then and that he was now trying to find on World of Dreams.

With his little entrouage, he rummaged through the old, dusty store in the mall and examined the many modules, parts and gadgets with which bots and other technical gadgets could be equipped.

"Look Akechi" said Nsihdia to his old bodyguard, with a small rotor plane in his hand, "Even such antique flying models they still have here".

[Kaiu Setsu]

Dutiful to this promise, Setsu was there to help find these interesting new parts for the robot. The potential for insight into a major technological breakthrough was surely in the air. Artificial intelligence would certainly be a next level addition to any defensive project for the future. "So we are talking about a hovering module for movement, a drone chassis perhaps?"

[Miya Nishida]

Nishida shook his head, "Rather not, wait I'll show you the bot for a moment." He dug his Densai out of his pockets and opened the gallery, "Here look."



"The bot is human-shaped so far, so we need more of a human-shaped chassis, a 30-68 to be exact."

[Kaiu Setsu]

Setsu takes a deep breath to contain emotions and nods, “it looks amazing. Really. Congratulations, my friend. Indeed a 30-68 would be a perfect fit.”

Pointing to the terminal, he adds, “That electronic kiosk might gives us a hint if they have it stored. If not, I can connect to their network and find how it could be delivered to this province.”

"I hope to find one here," he said, continuing to look through the shelves, "The 30-68 is hard to find, probably because it's so popular."

Nishda looked over at Setsu between two shelves, "You said you wanted to revive the old project, right?" he asked with a part in his hand that he had little idea what it was.

[Kaiu Setsu]

"I do." He says out loud as Setsu digs into the terminal to find the wanted piece of equipment.

"With all the structure we have here in the World of Dreams, I am sure it can be developed. I have all the exoskeleton concept extended for a much grande magnitude, that together with the mechanical cranes. It is just a matter of making sure the cockpit actually replicates the movements. Thus, the AI addendum. It might just be what it needs. A way to interpret the manual interface into the movements of the machine itself."

[Miya Nishida]

"It's actually a lot cheaper to do it here," Nishida agreed, "but don't you miss the big Kaiu forges?" he asked, dusting off an engine for an older drone model.

"Hachooo" he sneezed as the dust spread up his nose, "I beg your pardon" he said as he fetched a handkerchief.

[Kaiu Setsu]

The nostalgia does sting him a bit when he reminds of working with his grandfather. The businessman replies, "I do miss those days. It was fu n working with gramps. That's actually one of the reasons I want to revive the project. In his memory."

[Miya Nishida]

"Understandable" he said and kept silent for the time being to give Setsu some space. "It was interesting times back then, but now that I'm sitting on the other side of the table, there should be fewer Imperial Samurai making sudden visits to the forges," he quipped.

[Kaiu Setsu]

"Heh!" Setsu chuckles, "You know more than I do that who needs constant supervision is the Kuni, not the Kaiu."

He laughs a bit and remarks, "I think I found out the proper piece. Take a look here at the monitor."

[Miya Nishida]

"Well the Kuni don't keep breaking the laws of physics though" he said, chuckling before walking over to Setsu and examining the monitor.

"Seems like it's actually around here somewhere." He turned and looked into the dusty store whose shelves were filled from bottom to top. "Now we just have to find it."

[Kaiu Setsu]

"That is true, but so do the Phoenix as a whole." He chuckles, reminding of how much magic they put into things. He then adds, "I wonder when these robots actually take over the jobs of the heimin, what would happen?"

[Miya Nishida]

"I hardly think that will happen anytime soon. A heimin is simply cheaper as laborer than a bot. Even if you were to go large scale production and the bot manufacturing only required a few koku, the running costs, spare parts, maintenance, power, etc are more expensive than a heimin that takes a bowl of rice and is quickly replaced in case of damage." he offered his opinion.

"Moreover, a bot does not bring money into the economy, it generates goods or services but does not spend a single zeni on rice, products or services"

[Kaiu Setsu]

“Yep. The Yasuki within is there, I know.” He laughs a bit, and says, “I still wonder, though, when bots become so intelligent as to repair themselves, and with future recycling techniques, if they won’t make parts and repairs so cheap they’ll cost less than rice.”

A shrug and Setsu predicts a future in a different dimension, “That would actually be dangerous. What if they evolve so much as to become a rave of their own, and us their creators. Kind of blasphemous even to think.”

[Miya Nishida]

"Well. So far it is not forbidden" said Nishdia and shrugged. "Though I doubt anyone will put the money into upgrading the intelligence to the point where it can actually think. The amount of resources that would be involved is far too much for a single venture, perhaps even clan."

[Kaiu Setsu]

"Yeah, definitely something I would do if I had the resources for it." He laughs and reminds, "Alright corridor 5. Should be at the top where the big boxes are kept, I believe."

[Miya Nishida]

"Then let's see if it's there too" he said and walked towards the said shelf.

[Kaiu Setsu]

Looking at the box numbers, he nods, "Yeap. That's the one. I'll get a ladder to retrieve it. Hopefully it is not that heavy as to need a robot to get a robot part."

[Miya Nishida]

Nishida let the taller and probably stronger Kaiu take the lead. "I'm sure it can't be that heavy." he stated optimistically

[Kaiu Setsu]

Taller, yes. Stronger, hardly. Being lower in Status, Setsu doesn't even bother and goes to work as he should. Grunting and sweating like he's dying, the Kaiu manages to get the box and brings it to level ground on top of the cart.

"Phew..." He blows some air and rubs his forehead after the exercise. "Guess we are good to go. Any other plans, Nishida-sama?"
