Side Event: Turbo Tickets Arcade Night RP thread

[Hotaru Sakura]

Sakura finished at the arcade, let out a breath, and joined the others in mingling for now.

"Oh thank you, Utaku-samaaa!"

He was honestly surprised to be given the extra tickets, especially from someone he hadn't even met before tonight.

"I'm Asahina Hinata."

He smiled happily as he bowed.

"You've already got what you wanted?"

Yesugen glanced down at the tickets and then back at him. Perhaps she had made a terrible mistake. "Utaku Yesugen," she said with an accompanying bow. "May our futures be bright." She couldn't be entirely sure what was in store for their clans but politeness was politeness.

"I only cared about winning," she admitted. "And I did not." She poked the shark on the nose, eliciting a slight smirk from her. "This consolation prize will have to be enough. But yes, these tickets serve me no purpose."

As always, Yesugen was very, very good at giving gifts.

[Asahina Hinata]

Was this a gifting ceremony and hence the second refusal, or was he just an idiot?

"I wonder if the sanctuary here has any sharks?"

The good money was on the latter.

"The shark did require many maneuvers to acquire." Exactly two, actually, though with that accursed claw, it had definitely been an ordeal to secure the plushy. "I cannot say if there are many sharks. I suppose getting something related to the local fauna would've been more relevant, though that's easily purchasable by money."

Yesugen tapped her chin in thought, inadvertently brushing the tickets against herself. "Ah, but first, the tickets." She held them out... again.

[Susumu Sumiko]

Did you hear the rumors? Are you playing me, honey? If yes, I'm at the arcade. If not, I'm still there.

Sumiko felt the vibration of her communicator and took the messenger out. There as a small chuckle as she replied before putting her communicator away.

Not my doing! I'm at the arcade already.

She hadn't noticed Senshuken...

...But she did notice a very familiar looking mon.

Oh hey that's the Firefly that won yesterday

Approaching, she smiled and bowed to the woman.

"Good evening Hotaru-sama. Congratulations on your performance yesterday."

He'd managed to forget about them already and took them with a bit of a sheepish look, completing one of the most awkward gifting ceremonies ever that neither participant knew they were doing.

"Thank you again, Utaku-samaaa. Oh I might have enough for the communicator fox ear headband now!!!"

...But she did notice a very familiar looking mon.

Approaching, she smiled and bowed to the woman.

Sakura looked around for a moment. Hotaru....sama?

She bowed deeply. "Good evening Susumu-saman, arigatou. We were just lucky. Susumu-sama played very well with Bayushi-san yesterday. Perhaps today the Fortunes smiled upon Susumu-sama some more?"

[Susumu Yakumo]

He scratches the back of his head and does blush a bit as he replies, "So... you know rumors right. People like to make things seem much more scandalous than they really are."

The man sighs, "I tried to compliment her online, and I guess some zealot fans didn't like my comments and kind of took it in a different perspective."

He forgets about the name asking, for now. The topic was much more interesting, and he wanted to come clean... at least to someone.

Not-Yakumo shrugged, seemingly not caring too much about misunderstandings and whatnot online. "I dunno, have you considered... not? Don't wanna sound like a neckbeard who hasn't had a girlfriend in forever, and start complaining about how much of a 'nice guy' you are, right?"

The innocence brought a small smile to her lips. It reminded her of her childhood, back when she had lived carefree with parents who had been, by countless metrics, ideal. The games they'd played... Good times. But when she had picked up a gun for the first time, she didn't go back.

Something told her the Crane wouldn't relate. "Would those be comfortable?" she asked, tracing her head for demonstration.

[Kaiu Setsu]

Not-Yakumo shrugged, seemingly not caring too much about misunderstandings and whatnot online. "I dunno, have you considered... not? Don't wanna sound like a neckbeard who hasn't had a girlfriend in forever, and start complaining about how much of a 'nice guy' you are, right?"

"Can't make friends everywhere after all. Specially with fans of the people that kind of hate you just because you say or do something they don't think is right. Like, 'hey Hida is the best character in TFT VI' or showing a skimpy Kumohime doll around. Damned thing is 700 tickets."

"Yeah. You're right. Excuses are lame." He chuckles.

[Susumu Yakumo]

"Can't make friends everywhere after all. Specially with fans of the people that kind of hate you just because you say or do something they don't think is right. Like, 'hey Hida is the best character in TFT VI' or showing a skimpy Kumohime doll around. Damned thing is 700 tickets."

"Yeah. You're right. Excuses are lame." He chuckles.

"My kami, you're kinda dense, ain't ya. Guess you're one of those No-Girlfriend guys," she scoffed a bit and returned her attention to her bubble tea as she began to walk away.

“Kind of dense, yeah. Anyhow, I didn’t want to bother you, miss. I hope you enjoy the evening!” He smiles and provides a short bow as she moves away.

Wouldn’t be the first time he would get offended by being honest. As blunt as he could be.

[Bayushi Mariko]

Mariko made an appearance at the arcades dressed in a rather casual manner that would seem unlike herself, throwing an old coat with some fashion that looked like it was meant for lounging on the couch on all day. While she was certain that this would make someone unable to pick her out given how low-effort and unflattering it might look, it turned out that it might have been too close (meaning: very obviously Mariko) to her personal 'character' after all.

She meandered the claw machines, perhaps keeping an eye out on who might have left their attempts where she could swoop in and reap the work they left behind.

[Akodo Reki]

Toting a modest little stack of tickets, Reki stood in the arcade now wondering what she should use these tickets on....

She couldn't help but frown at the number of prizes that were 'popular person in mildly suggestive pose'. A part of her longed for emotion responding cat/fox ears. They were funny and completely ridiculous. She liked that about them. She had not enough tickets, so like countless children...only desire and longing remained.

Putting her tickets away for now, the Lioness turned to find a drink stand.

[Matsu Eriko]

Now, this certainly brought my memories of Asakaze for Eriko. Well, she spent most of the night lining up for a machine that she never got to play with and the other rest of it complaining. Thankfully, the Blue Moon wasn't some small entertainment centre meant for the locals of a frontier world but a full-sized arcade. Now that she actually had the option to play, she was perhaps more like a cat wandering about and more content to just watch people play.

[Matsu Hide]

Hide had a lot of tickets. Oh boy did she not quite know what to do with them. And maybe she danced a bit too hard. So Hide found a seat as she quickly stashed her tickets away.

Did she want to get the dumb plastic bow? Or some kind of plushie? Decisions, decisions...

[Hitoko]

After easing some of her frustration with the other games by kicking the crap out of Doji in First Tournament VI, Hitoko had a small fistful of tickets. A tense, clenched fist, because this had not been her plan at all. At one point it seemed like a wall of Lion samurai were around her and the ronin had had to close her eyes and calm herself, carefully pulling herself back together so she was only looking somewhat lost and overwhelmed. In an arcade. Way to go, Hitoko. You look as appealing to potential clients as a huffy teenager. Shaking the thought away, she looks about for anything to do next and distract her while she calms more...

"I don't see why I wouldn't help the Ikoma press, though I have to point out that I am a professional athlete at the highest level of motorsports, not gaming." She replies rather politely. "Still, yes, what do you want to know, Kitsu san?"

"My interest is more about sports in general than just esport really. But that makes for a good introduction actually. What's most popular at the moment on the World of Dreams between virtual sports, motor sports, and traditional sports? For example, how does attendance to your race compare with the oshidama tournament of yesterday?"

"Well, each one is an entirily different occasion. Virtual sports take place in organized events with quite a few spectators given the limitations of the space. Motorsports are totally different. The races during a season are not that numerous and the track has enough room for way more people to attend. As for traditional sports... They are the most popular probably over all, but they lack the dedicated fans of the previous two, if you ask me.. The oshidama tournament, though, was just a court event, one of the numerous of the season, not a professional one. A totally different thing."

Her communicator beeps. "Forgive me a moment, Kitsu san." She offers a smile and checks the text she got after casting a quick look towards Sumiko.

Not my doing! I'm at the arcade already.

She textes back.

"Oh I often have to wear bunny ears and a wireless mike for hours during a concert. These can't be heavier than that can they?"

"Heeey there!" Eriko would slide up beside Hide once she found her wife meandering around the arcades looking uncertain with a lot of tickets on her. She took a few slurps of her soft drink in hand before flashing a grin at her. "It looks like you've done a pretty good job there. Maybe a few short on some of the frames of getting some juggles together. I'm not so sure, I only consider myself a bit of a Togashi-Kami champ."
