A Much-Needed Date [D2, LA]

[Matsu Eriko]

"Aww..." Eriko gave Hide a wide blink in return at Hide's response, a bit confounded considering it was her request. Or was it her own? "I guess it was a pretty wild ride with a lot of things that happened. A lot of things were said but I think I can jog your memory somewhat. But try to remember, I'll be right back with something!"

With that, she stepped forward when it was their turn at the stand and made an order for one of those delicious egg waffles. It was much like this, except darker with its sesame base. Perfect for splitting and nomming.

She would make her return after procuring one of the delicious snacks and stroll back to where Hide was waiting for her. "Okay, still hot right off the pan! So anyway, we agree to no..."

[Matsu Hide]

"Oh, that looks delicious!" Hide eyed the egg waffle, her stomach growling. She looked back up to Eriko with wide eyes. "Uhhh... So, can I have more of a hint?"

[Matsu Eriko]

Eriko was about to offer to Hide first dibs on the snack before she showed more difficulty in answering what seemed to be turning more and more into trivia. She sank her shoulders and sighed, looking a bit disappointed. "Ugh, and you're supposed to be the clever one here! Alright, this is for all the marbles then: No more..."

[Matsu Hide]

"Lone-wolfing it? I... Remember asking that." Hide still looked extremely confused. "I'm really sorry that I forgot whatever... It was? It's been pretty hectic."

[Matsu Eriko]

"Eh, hey!" Eriko cheered with a big smile when Hide managed to get it right. "You got it and you deserve a prize! It's kind of hard to top a prize when you have me already but I guess here's some food as a consolation."

She gave her a wink and handed her the waffle bits. "So, yeah! Not lone-wolfing it. How do you feel about coming along with me to check something out? Should pretty simple stuff and all that but why take a chance when you're here, eh?"

[Matsu Hide]

“Oh hey! I did it!” Hide accepted the waffle bits, popping some into her mouth. Tasty! After a moment of chewing and swallowing, Hide gave Eriko a nod. “Simple stuff, huh? Sure. Someone’s gotta make sure people and their guns don’t get the wrong idea.”

[Matsu Eriko]

"I kind of doubt they'll want to do much went they catch sight of what sort of guns you're carrying." She couldn't help but giggle at that thought.

"But yes, the thing. Remember that relic that the True Scions were after me about in Asakaze? I've been bouncing it from decoder to decoder to get a read of its contents of what's on it. Most recently, I had one suggested by my sensei to look over it. It's a few days and he hasn't really returned my calls. Maybe he's been really busy. Hopefully, he didn't run off with it." She frowned at that possibility.

[Matsu Hide]

"Oh... I kinda got a bad feeling about this." Hide's common sense finally kicked. It must have been years since that happened. "Think they could've gotten to 'im?"

[Matsu Eriko]

Eriko raised a brow on that note. "There is a chance of that happening...Although, if they are here, wouldn't they come after me instead?"

[Matsu Hide]

“Hmmm. True.” Hide sighed as she crossed her arms. Definitely in deep thought. “So what’s the plan of action, then?”

[Matsu Eriko]

"I could just give it another day or two. Maybe chalk it up to a heavy workload or maybe some poor reception over at the slums or something. If that doesn't work, I guess we could take a scenic walk over to the slums and catch out his workshop directly?" She offered as the plan. "Of course, would be good to have some backup. I'm going to be pretty peeved if anything happens to the relic, especially after the whole kerfuffle I went through to get it."

[Matsu Hide]

“And the consequences of the kerfuffle later.” Hide tilted her head to the side. “So, by backup you got any people in mind…?”

[Matsu Eriko]

"Well, it's just going to be a visit to the slums if nothing comes up tomorrow or so. Just the two of us, we should be able to just handle it. Two isn't isn't a lone wolf...right?" She smiled encouragingly.

[Matsu Hide]

“Okay! That should work. Just the two of us.” And maybe things wouldn’t go awry for once. “Would be maybe a little fun, not gonna lie.”

[Matsu Eriko]

"Glad, you think so!" She beamed when she managed to convince Hide. "Besides, it'll probably be easier to manage with just the two of us. Not everything has to involve explosions and high-octane getaways. We've gone our share of that already, probably for the year."

[Matsu Hide]

“Yup. Just a nice relaxing check in on that person. Should be fine.” Well, aside from all the possible things that could go wrong. “So… I was thinkin’ sometime this week we like… Check out a room at one of the nice hotels for a couple of days. The Embassy leaves a lot to be desired in the comfort department. Would be nice to have some relaxing comfort.”

[Matsu Eriko]

"Yeah, I figured that we could do that sometime tomorrow, or probably the day after if it's all too busy for the both of us." She gave a few nods on the matter, she was mostly fine with how to proceed with it. At a later time, she would likely share Koyuki's contact information. Not that they were going to end up in trouble and need her help, just purely for a social call.

"A hotel?" She chuckled on that note. "I didn't you found the embassy to be that bad. Kind of an upgrade from rooming on a ship, I bet. That stay during Asakaze got you yearning for more ever since?"

[Matsu Hide]

"I mean, yeah, it's definitely better than ship quarters. But at the same time, I kinda want to do something nice for us while we're together here. Hotel, get something nice to drink." Hide then looked a bit sheepish. "Also... I feel like the cat is like... Always judging me while I'm walking around the embassy?"

[Matsu Eriko]

"Judging?" Eriko said curiously, perhaps oblivious to the supposed nature of the cat? "Aw, I'm sure she's just trying to warm up to us while we're around. Maybe you should consider dressing up in a full dress uniform from time to time. You look pretty good in it and it seems that she takes kindly to Lions dressed up in their uniform. Did you see Akodo Reki-sama? She just up and hopped up to her lap without knowing her."

She crossed her arms. "But hey, if you want to do something nice...I'm not going to say no or anything. It'll be good to get out from time to time. I know some key spots that are usually good for a stakeout that has some decent views."

[Matsu Hide]

“It always feels so weird to wear a full dress uniform. But if you think I look good in it… I might have to wear them more often.” Hide couldn’t help but grin flirtatiously, full on eyebrows raised. “As far as the cat… I dunno why but the way she stares feels judgmental. Which, I guess is normal for some cats.”

“So… Sometime this coming week for the nice stakeout views?”
