[Yogo Sadae]

A particular Scorpion samurai was having a time of his life, leaning to a table with several small sake glasses in front of him, taking small sips from them, then looking up as if he had any idea what 'taste profile' meant. In reality his eyes were on the audience, Sadae trying to see who was talking with whom - not that he was strictly interested in sake business. It was more that it was his work to figure out who knew whom and who could benefit from the services of his agency.

[Susumu Yuji]

Yuji was one who wouldn't talk to one group too long over any other. Always moving, his ears to the ground, as it were. The cup of Dark Blossom Blend stayed in his hand, enjoyed with moderation.

He did smile quite widely when he saw Yogo Sadae, raising his cup to the matchmaker while he walked.

[Akodo Inasa]

Yuji was one who wouldn't talk to one group too long over any other. Always moving, his ears to the ground, as it were. The cup of Dark Blossom Blend stayed in his hand, enjoyed with moderation.

He did smile quite widely when he saw Yogo Sadae, raising his cup to the matchmaker while he walked.

Inasa, who had indulged with slightly less moderation - or rather, was a complete lightweight as a matter of almost never drinking - stood to the side of the crowd trying to keep the discomfort from his face as much as possible. He didn't like the fuzz in his head, or the promise of an eventual headache behind his eyes. Plus, a bunch of talk of commerce, which was very much not his forte. Still... There were some positives.

He stepped over to a particularly interesting-looking Spider with a slight smile, bowing. "Good evening. I'm Akodo Inasa. Enjoying yourself thus far this evening?"

[Susumu Sumiko]

After a fascinating conversation, Sumiko had agreed to chat again with the man later and they parted ways. Still carrying a drink, she looked around the gest of the gathering with a welcoming friendly smile.

[Bayushi Senshuken]

Bayushi Senshuken is also there. The young courtier is dressed in a... kimono, much to her dismay. Still the outfit bears signs of her trademark street fashion with patches, pins, belts and patterns in bright red and black colors. Not bad at all!

She takes a look around her to check her surroundings and the people in attendance before mingling.

[Kitsu Kanna]

Kanna was around, a glass in hand, looking for anyone she could mingle with for a moment that wasn't a merchant. Her mind needed a break from all these koku talks.

[Susumu Yakumo]

Another cup of Dark Blossom Blend in hand... Fortunes, it was good to drink again without someone hanging over her shoulder and telling her to take it easy, think of the blahblahblah...

The idol cut a striking figure in the most luxurious modern-take on a hanfu, in sleek black with voluminous sleeves, decorated with motifs of cranes and pine trees. Again, showing off a Spider-designer that had taken her Crane-training into consideration for this piece. Her hair black was kept in a traditional chignon with a few hairpins of gold and tortoise-shell.

All in all, she looked rich and decadent. And tipsy.

[Kaiu Setsu]

Dressed in his traditional business suit, Setsu strolls the room feeling like a real Crab: with a stoic expression in his face, and the sake cup in his hand.

[Asahina Hinata]

It being a formal event meant Hinata was actually wearing pants and not shorts. They were still very tight and white with blue trim. He'd matched it with white and blue boots that boosted him a couple of inches, and a sailor suit like Crane blue jacket and beret.

He'd lost count of how many drinks he'd had. Some would say enough.

He'd also lost sight of the cute Scorpion waiter who had been refilling said cup and was looking for him, ever so slightly unsteadily.

[Kitsu Kanna]

As per Alcohology 103 (Seize control of the means of inebriation), Kanna showed up by the Asahina side with two full glasses, and handed one to him:

"More sake Asahina-sama?"

[Usagi Rei]

Rei was also there, wearing his usual charming, suave smile. Drink in hand. Hair and clothing impeccable.

Very slight lean to one side that it seems like he didn't notice. A general lack of motion, as that made everything spin a little.

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"Stay close." Kiyoshi said quietly to the Detective as they made their way through the crowd. He wasn't overly concerned. The monkey was usually well behaved, especially in situations like this. There were certainly a few odd looks in their direction, however, and caution seemed like a good idea.

[Yoritomo Seika]

Blissfully unaware that she's already well over the 'tipsy' line thanks to the wonders of Scorpion biotech, Seika makes the rounds of the launch party like a hyperactive drunken butterfly with a holorecorder, the sheer overskirt of her semi-casual hanfu floating out behind her. Unfortunately, most of her cool party photos will turn out to be unfocused blobs when she looks at them later... but she certainly seems to be having fun.

[Asahina Hinata]

As per Alcohology 103 (Seize control of the means of inebriation), Kanna showed up by the Asahina side with two full glasses, and handed one to him:

A lopsided bright smile became a little more fixed than genuine at realising this wasn't the cute Scorpion waiter he was looking for, but instead a Lion samurai. The smile continued as he connected further dots that this was not the Lion he had met the day before.

"Oh hi, Kitsu-san. I'm Asahina Hinata. I was looking for the cute waiter . . . oh well. I'll find him later."

He took the glass, which now meant he had two. One empty and one full. Well that wouldn't do, so he poured half of the full one into the empty one. Much better.

"I am here in support of my clan, officer..." her eyes narrowed slighty. Mostly because she was focusing to maintain her poise. "Which is the closest to a vacation I suppose. Duty never rests and all that, we'll all be worked to the bone."

Who wears uniforms to a high society gathering...? Is she an actual cop? Kami, I hope no one planted anything on me while I wasn't looking, and then the Scorpion will be like "oh look like we caught you with some illegal substances, Susumu-san"... with such a train of thought running through her head, she had another sip of sake.

The singer looked a tad unimpressed to be approached by an officer in uniform. As if she was expecting she'd be told to step to the side for a sobriety-test.

"I am here in support of my clan, officer..." her eyes narrowed slighty. Mostly because she was focusing to maintain her poise. "Which is the closest to a vacation I suppose. Duty never rests and all that, we'll all be worked to the bone."

Kami, I hope no one planted anything on me while I wasn't looking, and then the Scorpion will be like "oh look like we caught you with some illegal substances, Susumu-san"... with such a train of thought running through her head, she had another sip of sake.

"We are all samurai at the end of the day, I'll admit. None of us are defined by our jobs so much as our social positions..."

She trailed off a bit before starting up again, "Truthfully I'm kind of glad to have that be true; Normally, your paths and mine would never cross I'd guess, not unless you needed an officer escort due to crowds or such."

[Kuni Koyuki]

Koyuki was present, but she wasn't as dressed up as others were. Instead she was just wearing her combo with a jacket of sorts hung over her shoulders. As she didn't care to set down anywhere, the jacket stayed there and she constantly kept a vigil to make sure it wasn't falling off her. She stood alone, at the time, a moment of solace from the crowd of chatting faces taken to brood to herself. Drink in hand she casually sipped at it while thoughts danced across her mind, eyes scanning and reading the party.

People were having fun, it was good to see, but if she was honest with herself on how she really felt her mood would tank and she couldn't have that here, now.

She didn't know much about him really. But she had the ears, the brain, and the training, to listen to several conversations at once, and she had caught that particular piece of information at some point during the soiree.

"I was wondering what capricious destiny had brought you to spend the evening in the company of inebriated merchants and their court of journalists, prospective business partners and...

Well, apparently a lot of other idols. Is there a performance planned in the second half of the evening or something like that?"
