She let the silence hang for a moment. "Would you like to continue? I'm sure they can check the machine for the fault before we begin."

Her voice was again calm, concerned but not patronizing.

"I'm so sorry, Akodo-sama", she repeated over and over, not managing the strength to look at the Lion. "This was supposed to be a fun time... This was safe..."

After a while she shakes her head again, takes another deep breath, and speaks again, courage back on her voice - although her eyes are still on the ground.


"...Would Akodo-sama want to finish the game with me? I... would be glad to, if you were. I... just have to ask Renjiro-san to make sure this doesn't happen again", she adds in a somewhat frustrated voice, her head turning back to look for the man.

"You... probably understand it now, ne?, she asks, finally meeting Reki's eyes, frustration and longing obvious in her own. "Why my wings..."

She doesn't finish again, as she hears Renjiro's voice. "Renjiro-san, what the... what happened??", she asks, the exasperation clearly tempered by some camaraderie from two people who had known each other for quite some time. A series of apologies later, the man starts pressing buttons and changing things in the Machine again. A few minutes and it should be done - hopefully without any colourful surprises this time.
