D11, LM- Shiny Rock Talk (expecting)

[Ide Yamako]

Yamako got the space set up for her next meeting. A little tidying was necessary as it seemed Utaku-San had been doing some kind of experiment. The heimin bad done a sufficient job of getting the worst stains out but a little rearranging helped make things look fresh.

[Hotaru Katsutoshi]

Her guest was right on time and let the embassy staff know he was expected. As he waited to be shown to the right room Katsutoshi took some time to look around. The Unicorn Embassy was a lot smaller than he had been expecting for a Great Clan. Not that the MCA headquarters were huge of course. It was probably the Scorpion messing with them. He nodded sagely to himself and peeked out at the busy street. It was located close to a lot of distractions, which was also probably deliberate...

Yamako came out to greet her guest. “Hotaru-San! Right on time. Please, right this way.”

She opened the door for him and led him to the conference room where a small repast was set up, along with the accoutrements for tea, whether ceremony or from the auto caff.

“Please, sit, make yourself comfortable.”

[Hotaru Katsutoshi]

He snapped out of his thoughts as Ide Yamako arrived, turning to greet her with a bow and offering his hand. "So good to see you again Ide-sama, thank you for the invitation." He followed and seemed very pleased to see the refreshments.

"I hope this last week has brought you much success?" Settling down he looked between the caff and the tea before pulling out his densai and placing it on the table to his right. "I rather enjoyed the Realms Expo, but the last few days make me feel as though I stayed too long in Yume-Do."

[Ide Yamako]

She nodded. "I feel as though I have been beseiged by paperwork. I didn't even make it to the Expo, but I heard it was incredible. That's the problem of being on assignment, all work and less play. But at least you got to experience it." She saw him pull out he densai. "Would you like anything to drink? I can make some tea or the caff is quite competent if a little...enthusiastic."

[Hotaru Katsutoshi]

"Tell me about it! I quite like being to go to person for our commercial ventures, but some days I want to shred every form I see." He mimed taking a bundle of paper sheets and putting them in a shredder.

"Oh thank you, tea would be lovely! I had a caffeine when I woke up. If I have another now I might never sleep again." He smirked and tapped a button on the little machine to call up his notes.

"Sorry to hear you missed the expo, it was rather diverting! But then it's been business ever since. Still, means I have plenty of new things to explore whenever I do get some time to myself."

[Ide Yamako]

“Oh heavens if only I could. I would sigh in sheer relief. I’d record the sound. It would be heaven.” Yamako began making a bit of tea, executing with competent if uninspired movement. Still, good tea. She served it up in plain but elegant enough cups and saucers. Yamako had some notes to provide to Ide Kano about whoever was stocking her his particular embassy.

“It sounded excellent. But what can you do? Duty calls and all that.”

[Hotaru Katsutoshi]

He smiled at her reaction and gratefully accepted a cup. "That it does! And speaking of Duty... What might the Unicorn be looking for in terms of mineral and ore supplies?"

He paused to sip the tea. "Mmm, much nicer than what I'm used to." Mining ship tea could be used to grease an engine if needed. "Let's just say it has been a good year for the Firefly, so there is a lot of potential for trade."

[Ide Yamako]

She chuckled. “I am glad to hear. I made a good friend among your clan on New Kalani, Hotaru Jun-San and he told me much about Firefly ships. Indeed, it’s partially where I got the idea for this conversation.”

She sipped her tea. Still needed a little. Lee work but not bad. “The Unicorn are in a tricky spot between the other clans. With the Dragon taking the Ide 2, the spider harassment of ships…it’s not been an easy time.”

She sips her tea again, trying to decide the best tack. “So what we need is broad but also some specifics remain. Namely, materials that will help us defend ourselves, our ships and our planets. We have some trade with the Mantis of course but more would also be good.”

[Hotaru Katsutoshi]

"Oh you know Jun-san! Wonderful, I am glad you thought of us for your clan's needs." He called up some data on his densai.

"These problems sound like something we can definitely help with. Materials are our specialty, and we have amassed quite a surplus." He wasn't going to comment on the obvious inferiority of Mantis goods.

"Building materials, ore, rare minerals and elements. Space has all the best things if you know where to look."

[Ide Yamako]

She nods, sipping at her tea. “He explained a great deal about your clan and how the process works when we were both at New Kalani. It’s quite fascinating.”

She smiles. “I am glad I’ve come to the experts then.”
