"25 years older than you? She's old enough to be your mother" Sumiko laughed.

"Hmm...is this a trap? If i say no you ask why not and I have to dance around my words" Sumiko grinned teasingly "however in honesty, compared to Whispers I would rather remain here. There is so much mystery, so much....life. it's a wonderful planet."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

She nods and a grin appears on her face. "Could you get an appointment here? A permanent one at your embassy?"

It certainly can be done. Why not? "Who is it up to?" She asks.

[Susumu Sumiko]

"It would be up to my clan, I don't choose my assignments of course " Sumiko said with a nod "if they agreed for me to be here then I'd be fine with it, although I'm not sure I would like to remain in one place now I've seen a small portion of the galaxy. There's so much more to see, a lot to find, so many mysteries so many sights....don't you want to see the universe? The sights, the scenes?"

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Yes, I do. In fact I have already seen a few other places this past year during the racing season, but traveling as part of my duties as a courtier... No I don't think that I would like that. Leaving the WoD so as to explore the various machinations of backwater courts and such?" She nods in confirmation of her own words. "Such an order would be considered a very harsh punishment and ok, I'm supposedly being punished by mom right now, but for how long? I committed no crime."

The girl shrugs. If Sumiko wanted to stay here, perhaps a way could be found. Such a bummer that she doesn't. It kind hurts even.

[Susumu Sumiko]

"Senshu-chan, you realise that I am only here on this planet due to my duties as a courtier right? While I understand the appeals of court do not suit all, we all have our duties. I'm not considered important in terms of social positions or heritage, so it's not my choice on where I go or where I'm assigned to."

Sumiko sighed.

"Even the Spider understand and respect duty. I do as I'm told by my clan, doesn't mean I can't seek mysteries in the places where I go and my superiors believe me to be a suitable face to go as part of the diplomatic missions."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Of course, I understand that and I never said or even thought that you are not loyal to your clan." The Scorpion replies readily. "I just thought that if you wanted to stay longer and not leave in a week or so, perhaps it could be arranged diplomatically. Susumu Yuji sama might want an assistant for instance and I don't know how Spider politics work on such matters, but if he wrote a report and asked for you specifically?" She waves her hand. "Never mind. It was just a silly idea. You prefer to see other worlds for now after all."

[Susumu Sumiko]

There was a look of confusion.

"But you said permanent did you not? I don't intend to leave immediately, I'm going to remain here for a short while, or as long as my clan allow me to. I just don't believe I would likely remain here permanently unless my clan believes it would be best for my skills."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Yes, I did." She takes a deep breath and looks towards the other girl searching for her eyes. "Look, I like you a lot and I'm trying to figure out what you want so I'm suggesting a lot of different things." She shrugs. "But I guess that there's time to see what the prospects are since you're staying for a while. Perhaps you will want to stay more after this 'while'. No?"

[Susumu Sumiko]

Sumiko, after a few moments, smiled softly and moved to put her hand on Senshukens.

"I do understand Senshu-chan, really I do. I am just a cautious person when it comes to my future as it's not in my control. what I want and what I can do are not aligned. Now if Senshu-chan wants me to remain for an extended period, or to remain with me for a long time, there is a method for that" she winked at the woman "and it would be something that would certainly convince the clan of a much longer extended stay with the Scorpion."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

The Bayushi seems kind of disappointed. "Yeaaaaah. That's tough. Tougher than words can explain. I told you that I am the last child of my family which makes me the last bargaining chip. My mom is close to her sixties now, but she doesn't seem so eager to retire, so I'm of use to her. As an asset to trade, of course. And then there's the issue of maintaining the purity of the bloodline, as well." She looks Sumiko in the eyes again." I mean that even if things work out perfectly between us and we end up crazily in love, I'm not sure how doable such a prospect really is. Unless we stick around in this court and try to slip our names in the contract of the first suitable deal our clans agree upon."

"What do you want us to do?" She asks in the end. "I understand that I'm the one causing the problem so it is only fair that you decide. I understand that it is a possible entanglement that you may not want for yourself."

[Susumu Sumiko]

"I think Senshu-chan is being hard on herself. It isn't your fault, so please don't blame yourself" Sumiko smiled warmly at the woman "even if you're the last child in your family, you still have a legacy behind you that makes you worth more to your clan than a simple librarian is to hers. I think..."

Sumiko paused, taking a few moments before giving Senshukens hand a gentle squeeze and returning to a warm smile.

"I think we just enjoy each other and see how the future plays out. If there is a way we can find it, but it would mean our clans becoming closer aligned. I won't start the politics talk don't worry" she chuckled "let's put that to a side and enjoy our time together."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

What a relief! She will be staying for now and Senshuken has made her view on the matter of a more formal partnership clearer.

The girl smiles back. "Sure, sure! Let's talk about something important like what are we to do in the evening! After we are done with work and everything." She suggests in order to make the atmosphere lighter.

[Susumu Sumiko]

Sumiko chuckled.

"In the evenings? Are we not just going back to yours and watching movies?" she teased with a grin "personally I'd like to go visit more places in a casual way. Like this part, or the sanctuary, or...Well, I don't know what exists beyond the city but I'm sure there are sights?"

[Bayushi Senshuken]

The Bayushi acts as disappointed as a small child whose lollipop was taken away. She pretends to be wiping her tears and offers a half smile. "Yes, there are. There are also sake houses and night clubs, but why going there when we can visit the sanctuary and then return to my place for a movie. Right?"

Her smile turns into a playful smirk. "We can study anatomy, at least, and experiment on live subjects. I'll offer myself up for a thorough examination!"

[Susumu Sumiko]

"Are you really surprised that the librarian goes with the more educational interests?" Sumiko grinned "why not both? Sanctuary some days, nightclub others. There's a lot of animals at the sanctuary that are extinct in the wild, and the drakes are really cute! I was allowed to play with them before."

She let her eyes run down and up Senshukens body before adding "hai, you'll make for a very good subject for a thorough examination" with a wink.

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Hai, hai! I offer myself up for such experiments as long as I can keep kidnapping you every night." She grins back. "And I can agree in petting cute drakes before going out. Have you heard of any other places that you might want to visit? Or places that you have already checked and want to go again? With me this time?"

[Susumu Sumiko]

"Asking permission to kidnap?" Sumiko grinned "I shall allow it, as long as I get to stay in a comfortable bed against your lovely warm self."

She took a moment to think before shaking her head.

"I'll be honest, I haven't researched further. So if there's anywhere you want to surprise me with, you can do so!"

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"I'll think of something for our next date... Errr kidnap! I meant kidnap! I have to maintain my cool and dangerous profile." She winks and sticks her tongue out playfully.

/wow. It's a D5 thread. Forgive me for being mostly absent these days. RL and stuff. Do we wrap this up?

There was a chuckle.

"I'm looking forward to seeing what you plan. For now though?"

Sumiko stood up, offering a hand.

"Shall we go watch through the flowers?"
