(D8 EE) It's too hot for Tea

He took another sip of tea and straighted his glasses, "For how long do you think you can sustain your brotherhood? A generation? Two? How long do you think you can feed those dear to you in such a community? What do you have to give up to do that? Your integrity? Your morality? How long will it take for a clan to abandon you after you gain their support? When do you think you'll have to start harassing the people you think you're a part of?"

He leaned a bit in Hato's direction, "Once my name was Yasuki Nishdia" he whispered a bit boldly and leaned back again.

"I can only advise you to do research on your business partners in the future, sometimes it helps enormously" he said and chuckled again.

"If I may give you some advice free of charge, then that you look for someone who will take you in. Yes you will be a pawn, yes you may be shunned at first, yes it will not be easy or even nice or luxurious. But if you want to be a help in the long run, for you and those you call your friends, then try to buy a piece of land with the money, use your closest as retainers and fight your way up the elite of the minor clans. Create a legacy for them and for you, something that will last. It's hard, but in the long run it's better than staying ronin. "

They are probably also one of the few that don't have a problem with open trade, if rumors are to be believed, and there is more than enough to do with their many mining projects. Besides, you, among them, are under Imperial protection." he explained, pausing briefly.

"However, if you are not afraid of honest work, the Sparrow might be something for you. It is, admittedly, an extremely poor and very local minor clan, but one whose task is no less worthy. Serving as a guardian of Old Rokugan is an honorable task."

He put down his teacup and continued, "The Fox is one of the minor clans that is probably, in the belly of the lion, sometimes the safest. However, you will incur the hatred of all the Mantis should you decide to join them. The Hare is difficult at the moment. I don't think you are an offensive fighter? With the Crane and the Crab both fighting for the Hare's favor, there will be a conflict sooner or later, so I'd rather advise you not to go that direction. About the Osprey and the Shark I don't know so much, you'll have to consult someone else.

If the request can be accomplished the day after tomorrow and this one could also enjoy another lovely tea ceremony at the hands of Lord Chrysanthemum that day, this one believes that such a request could be honored in full."

"So be it, we shall meet the day after tomorrow" he replied, finishing his teacup aswell. "I wish you luck in you business Hato-san" he said hoping to see the young ronin in a piece in two days

This dismissal was somewhat of a shock to Hato....but then again it was a dangerous world. Perhaps the Imperial didn't want such sensitive information known until it was clear it would be possible to launch whatever mission it was. A lot could happen in a couple days.

Instead she merely rose and bowed deeply to the Imperial.

"As you say, so shall it be, Lord Chrysanthemum. Carry the Fortunes." she offered, before making her exit.
