She closed the comm, and put it away. Drowning her thinking in the action of taking a drink.

Just in time for Hinata to half jump, half dance past trying to time his step to make the creaking floor sound musical.

In that moment of emotional turmoil, Koyuki finds a brief calm in the storm enough to laugh as Hinata comes half-jump-dancing by. Presence of her thoughts weighing on her yet in her tone she pushes herself forward to reach out enough to call attention to herself. "Asahina-sama. Having fun?"

[Hotaru Sakura]

Sakura was sipping something passed off by one of the geisha, wearing a dress reminiscent of the traditional kimono. Perhaps the choice was a bit surprising, but still, she seemed to enjoy herself.

He traipsed over, remembering to bow when he got there.

"This place is great. Have you heard the floor???!?!?!?! It's almost musical!"

Yes, though no thanks to all those rumors running around New Kalani. I do still wonder who started all those.

"Yes, we had a lovely time meeting each other's families prior and settling the contracts. Children will come in their time but we both have our duty to occupy us at present." She takes a sip of her drink. "And what of you Susumu-san? Are you pondering marriage?"

"Mm, I see, I see..." she shipped her drink too right before the Big Question.

"Ah, well... who knows. I have no such plans myself, but I will do what my lord asks of me. For some it might be a challenge to be married to someone like me if I am always busy touring or working on new music."

It was a good sidestep away from that kind of attention directed to her. "It seems like there's many other people from New Kalani here as well. Almost as if the year is ending how it started... me, you, Susumu Sumiko, Yoritomo Seika, Hotaru Jun. Shosuro Hashinako too, but she has been busy the past week with work I imagine. Have you had the time to catch up with any of them?"

He traipsed over, remembering to bow when he got there.

"This place is great. Have you heard the floor???!?!?!?! It's almost musical!"

A little mechanical Koyuki turns a dip of her head. Lips shifting slightly as if she might smile but there wasn't enough heart in it. Eyes just lingering in the space that mostly was occupied by Hinata, "I had not realized. Though it appears it is," she says, a touch detached. "Have you been mostly entertaining yourself with the floor or have you been enjoying the company any too?" she asks, earnest as could be in her intent.

Still a fortress of calm in a sea of debauchery, Reki watches the proceedings with feigned interest as she mulled over what information had fallen into her lap.

Yuji was the opposite of a fortress. Not one who shied away from debauchery, but rather, was more amused that the proceedings were rather tame, from his viewpoint.

While his poor eyesight had hindered him from truly identifying any of the Scorpion. Yet he could make out some or the other. A gloved hand held a glass of liquor, as he slunk through the shadows of the darkened room.

After some time, he found himself next to a certain Lion.

"Quite the evening, isn't it, Lion-san." He spoke softly, before looking to her. "Pardon my intrusion. I am Susumu Yuji."

Reki turned to look at the new comer, she had a certain disdain in her eyes...though it faded a little at the man's surprising calm, some respect even shown in her eyes. "Not exactly the words I would use, Susumu-sama." The Lion opted for caution in presuming their relative positions.

"Akodo Reki, Gunso." She added with a dip of her head, the confined space and general atmosphere made the formality of a bow seem inappropriate. "The Scorpion do seem to have a taste for these gatherings though, and I am essentially a guest on their world. So I defer to their whims in entertainment."

After the wild stories she told that important-looking Scorpion woman (whoever she was), Hide was able to excuse herself and mingle around with the crowd some. She definitely needed another drink to calm the nerves at this point. So, she had her drink refilled as she glanced over the nearby crowd of people.

"Oh mostly the floor. Embassy told me there were some people I should talk to tonight if I saw them, but I totally haven't spotted a single one of them yet."

"I don't know how helpful this will be for those people," she says, a touch of warmth in the tone but yet it seems distant and false. Like a woman resigned. "But most of these people might be those you know." Getting up, she moves over to Hinata's side of the table and sits beside him. This way they had the same viewpoint for her to work from. Leaning in a bit she peers among the shadowed interior to try and pick out the faces again.

A soft, more earnest smile. "Over there is Yakumo, your erstwhile companion and dear friend. She appears to be speaking to Ide Yamako, a woman I met earlier on. She's very kind, Ide Yamako. We spoke at length about such banal topics and I thought I could keep going on forever. Woman has a strength of presence that is welcoming, and even I felt taken in by it."
