You would need a Gentry to have personal retainers - as Gentry would generate income that would let you pay for their upkeep. I'm assuming with us focusing on the command module there's probably no way for Use Computer to help with figuring out what happened in the garden. Is there anything to be gleamed by Investigation? Or was the failed Engineering roll the one shot at it.
