"Oh I like to give fans something special though! I wonder if I packed any spare Nousagi plushies . . . ?"

He puzzled while stripping another drumstick to the bone.

[Yūrei]

Quick inhale
"I mean, if you did have one..."
She makes her eyes big, looking over at Hinata, the effect only partially ruined by a half chicken being broken down and devoured in mere seconds.

[Asahina Hinata]

"I think I do. They gave me loads when I finished the final episode of last season."

He paused with a box of nuggets in one hand.

"I mean when I finished my lines. Nousagi had so many in the last episode, what with the fights against the Lieutenants and then the Tenebris Centurion before the escape with Inu-Tai and the final orbital battle. There was a lot to pack in to that last session."

That had in fact been the last five episodes . . . .

[Yūrei]

"Wasn't that-....uh yeah, there were a tonne. But I thought it was great, that bit when everyone thought you were dead before the season fi- mid season finale cliffhanger, there was a lot of buzz."

Yūrei salutes his nuggets with her own, beginning a complicated six sauce dipping maneuver.

"Do you like the role? Asahina-sama? It must be different coming from being a musician first. Most Scorpion celebrities go in the other direction."

[Asahina Hinata]

"Oh I loved doing it. It's not like we stopped singing. I mean, I did the Nousagi 'Never Stop!' theme and the group as a whole did the new opening and ending credits. We're even doing the credits for next season as well. Oh . . . . "

He covered his mouth. As he still had nuggets in hand this looked quite strange.

"I'm not supposed to say that!!! Please, pretend you didn't hear me!"

He also finally noticed his densai was still open on the pages they'd been discussing, so quickly keyed the lockscreen. Which was an animation of the Drop! boys in chibi form and various costumes floating around in zero-g.

[Yūrei]

"Never heard what?"
Yūrei grins before pausing and considering Hinata for a moment.
"I mean, I never head you say that, or anything about a next season. I was too busy working out whether to dip my nuggets aioli->barbecue->spice, or special sauce -> sweet and sour."
She was pretty sure the Crane could sympathise with that predicament.

"Do you have many Usagi fans? I've recently made a Hare friend but haven't worked up the courage to ask him. I mean, it seems like you should, right?"

[Asahina Hinata]

He looked at the sauces.

"Why not all five?"

Which he promptly did with his nuggets, actually being careful to stay well away from the hot sauce of doom that had nearly undone him earlier.

"Oh Doji-samaaa, our manager, makes a point of us doing a concert as close to where any Usagi Drop Trooper units are when they're in Crane space. He always says our job is keeping the Hare popular so they want to stay with us! So, yes we see quite a few Usagi at our concerts."

[Yūrei]

"All five?"
Could it be done?...Should it be done? She hesitatingly begins the great dipping

"That makes sense. So you're doing important Clan work with all the singing and the dancing..and the cute clothes."

[Asahina Hinata]

"Oh the clothes are the absolute best! All the cute things I get to wear on stage and then they let me alter them or have extra sets made to wear every day!"

He stopped and peered down at the sauces.

"That aioli is really rather good."

[Yūrei]

Snip

"Oh, you choose to dress like that. It must be quite something, you're so recognizable. "
She dunks in the aioli again and nods
"I think they actually use real eggs, or a close approximation. Makes it stand out from all the soy sauces. I mean, not soy sauce, but the saucer from soy..."

Quickly shaking her head
"Well...want to see if you can finish the drumettes bucket before me? Loser has to take another hit of the Deadly Nightshade!"

"Oh you're on!!!!!"

Soon there would be nothing left but bones . . .
