(D5MA) Important Introductions

[Usagi Rei]

"The future..." Rei sighed. "I've been thinking of it more again lately, as the official end date draws near. Or, trying not to think about it, more like."

He turned to face Yamako fully, tilting his head to regard her with a smile. "Is that an invitation, Ide-san? To come see your family? I do find myself curious about your husband, actually." Rei paused a moment, considering. "I know you told me what he does, and how you met. What's he like?"

[Ide Yamako]

She looks at him curiously. "Official end date? To what?"

To the second part she says, "Of course! The Ide are always welcoming to guests. Though my husband is more...Moto at heart. He has a less diplomatic temperament but he is an investigator at heart. Always ferreting out little bits of information. You might enjoy each other's company or he might hate you on sight. Its really a tossup." She says with the chuckle of someone who is far too aware of their partner's ways.

[Usagi Rei]

Rei took a breath. "To my marriage. Two years, and it's dissolved." He said, sighing. "That's less than three months away now." It was a strange feeling, and it showed on his handsome features.

"Oh?" Rei chuckled. "I suppose we'd have to find out. I usually manage to make myself at least tolerated, but I think I understand the sort you mean." And he actually avoided affairs with married women.

His smile turned wry. "It's a nice thought. We'll see if it's something that can happen."

[Ide Yamako]

She nodded. "That's a significant date. Perhaps once it occurs, you'll find yourself feeling a bit more like you can spread your wings again. See what might be your space. I only offer Kuwagata as it is...very very different from here and that might help you start your process."

[Usagi Rei]

Rei smiled. "It sounds very different. And... perhaps I will feel different myself, in a few months. This weird enforced not quite married, not quite a bachelor life. It's a bit... unbalanced."

A little snout poked its way out of the bush, two golden eyes staring at the pair. "Of course, if I leave World of Dreams, I can't take Airi with me." Rei said, smiling. "That should probably be considered, eh?"

[Ide Yamako]

She bent down to Airi's level, offering a hand. "That's true. You must consider all the factors. A hasty decision is no decision at all."

[Usagi Rei]

Airi gave a whuffling sort of hiss, snuffing curiously into Yamako's hands. A bit of searching, and she satisfied herself that the small Unicorn didn't have any treats. Still, she accepted some more pats.

"Hmm. Hare tend to favor speed." Rei said, smirking. "But I think you're right."

He glanced at his commlink with a sigh. "I should be getting back. I've got plans later." Little did he know how disrupted they were going to be. Smiling, he looked at Yamako. "I hope we can meet again sometime, Ide-san."

[Ide Yamako]

She nods and rises. “I would be glad to. With it without your splendid friend. Though they are quite an attraction.”

[Usagi Rei]

Rei grinned at that. "They are, aren't they?"

Then he looked at the bush and sighed. "This part might take a while." Kneeling down, he opened the carrier. As soon as he touched it, Airi vanished back into the bush.

"Airi! Airi, girl. Come here!" Rei called at the bush cajolingly. A defiant hiss came from the depths of the bush.

[Ide Yamako]

She chuckled. “Opinionated little creature, isn’t she?”

[Usagi Rei]

Rei gave her a sheepish smile. "She really is. I'm just lucky she's hiding in the bush instead of a tree." He sighed. "This part is always so undignified."

Grimacing, he pushed into the bush, head and arms enveloped by the foliage. The hissing intensified. A few moments later, he emerged, holding Airi securely but gently. He quickly managed to get the fierce little creature into the bag, closing it. The hissing subsided.

Sighing, Rei looked at Yamako. "Well. That's that." He rose to his feet, lifting the carrier. "Until next time, Ide-san?"

[Ide Yamako]

She nodded. “Til then.” She offered a little coo to Airi in the basket.

“May your path be clearer, Usagi-San.”

[Usagi Rei]

A soft, almost pleasant hiss came from the carrier.

Smiling, Rei bowed, low and respectful. "Thank you, Ide-san." Straightening, his lips parted, then he smiled again. "... thank you."

And with that, he turned, heading towards the nearest station.

[Ide Yamako]

She bowed again and headed on her way as well.
