As for the Detective, he's been portrayed by a few different actors, especially in the early years. As I became a better trainer, we didn't need additional Detectives."

I think my favorite series was the Mystery Zaibatsu one, where the monsters of the Realms became more prominent and scary. It was very well done."

Rei smirked, his pale eyes glinting at her in the dim light of the club. In truth, it was as exciting to have won a reaction out of her, a little surprise of his own, as anything else. "Like I keep saying," he murmured softly, only just above the sound of the music. "I'm a Hare. I always keep a little something in reserve."

He attempted to smile innocently. He was pretty bad at it. "Well... who among us is perfect?" He teased back. "But I was thinking more along the lines of a nice suite somewhere. Maybe one of the island hotels. As I understand, ocean air does wonders for one's vigor."

The server took the order without comment, bowing and retreating. Rei, on the other hand, looked at her with smile and raised eyebrow. "Barley shochu." He said. "Is that also a favorite of yours as well, or are you just trying something new, Bayushi-san?"

"I do like the sound of that." She nodded in approval at that. "The perfect place to sort yourself out after a terrible bout of illness and the much-needed rehabilitation afterward. However, those places tend to have a very impressive minibar, which I'm sure will be the last thing on your mind."

I'm sure a lot of things are happening for Winter Court and it maybe I should get in on the fun...without needing to step foot into an embassy."

“Kampai!” Hide met Eriko’s glass with her own, wide smile on her face. “Yeah, staying together. So glad to be here with you instead of inside some ship. Last time I was planet-bound for this long was… The miai. Damn.”

Hide leaned back in her seat, taking a sip from her drink as she watched Eriko. “It’s so nice to see you so happy. Even with the whole thing yesterday.”

"The team-up, I love it!" Eriko gave an enthusiastic clap over the last song of the night as everyone put in their efforts on the same song.

"I guess that wedding was pretty sure to be called a long time." She grinned with a shrug of her shoulder. "As I said, nothing to it! Some tossing and turning in bed, a cool patch, some pills, and I'm as right as rain again in the morning! And please, like I'd like anything like that get me down. They would have to...kidnap my wife or threaten the planet with mass destruction or something. Fat chance any of those are happening!"

The response made Rei smirk in return, clearly pleased. "And here I was hoping for some help with my paperwork." He tilted his head, regarding her. "I wonder if there's a similar trick for learning what goes on in the mind of an actress? Because I've lately found myself very, very curious about that." He looked back to the stage. "Perhaps a quiet drink is the trick." He did still owe her... Rei frowned, considering his upcoming schedule.

All three performers came on stage, and Rei found himself smiling and applauding again.

Hide couldn’t help but chuckle at the thought. “Oh please, you might jinx it! What if you had to stage a daring rescue?”

If Eriko was able to gather people on Asakaze to go into the forbidden derelict ship, Hide was sure she could do that here. “Well, I’m not exactly worried about that. I might get shot at a lot, though. But that’s normal for me in general!”
