[D6 LA] Side Event: Realm Expo RP

"I'll definitely send a short blurb about the expo to my boss later. But mostly I'm here to collect material for our brand new Heroes from the distant stars collection – first issue to be released in the upcoming months – thanks to many samurai of exception being on world at the moment, in the context of the Winter Court.

You wouldn't happen to have some honorable military achievements to flaunt by the way?"

"Interesting." Rei pursed his lips, considering. "Who have you asked so far, if you don't mind my asking?"

He gave an apologetic shrug. "Sorry. If only one of my cousins was here. But I've been an attaché to the Hare at the MCA Embassy for the last three years. It hasn't left much in the way of military achievement. And I imagine a double all-nighter to finish paperwork doesn't make for a good story."

After possibly damning the Galaxy to a Pekkle copy of himself, Hinata made a bee line for the shop stalls and started picking out what he wanted. The hot fox dudes wedding had stuck in his mind so a big Ninetails plushy half his size was first on the list, he added in the renga, 'Absconded Away' as the art looked cute and then realising the plushy was actually quite large and he couldn't carry much more, finished off with a bag of fox candies.

"It's...hmm..." Sumiko stepped back slightly to get a better look.

"2 koku? Hai, 2 koku for the book. That makes sense, it's a complete edition with so much detail in it."

She checked her funds. She could afford it, but it would be a big dent in her resources.

"Hmm..."

Yakumo looked up as she was doing some mental gymnastics, also known as basic math. She'd already dropped a good chunk of money for personal projects earlier that day. And then there was her own shopping list, so that meant subtract 2, carry the four... or wait, was it the other way.

"Just add it to my account, I'm picking up a copy as well along with a couple of other things," she said finally with a shrug as she held up her densai, where she was filling in her orders of what she wanted from the vendors.

A couple of things was an understatement as she seemed to be buying something from most vendors.

"What good is having all these koku the Imperials hand me regularly if I don't use it on my kin who get so little in comparison."

Bayushi Mariko was at the event with her own booth at the Yume-Do showcase portion of the exposition. She admittedly found it a little awkward when it came to running her own booth but she should at the very least endorse her own product with her own star power! Realm Expo was at least a few tiers above Fan-Con and her last appearance there was not something she wanted to go through again. Little did she know, there was one of her movies playing in another part of the expo. The actual commerce work of her booth was handled by volunteers at the very least, although she hovered closely if anyone wanted to talk.

For the event, she wore a frilly black gothic dress, a fashion recently made popular by some Crane kuge but not without some controversy.

Relaxing nearby, Koyuki spares Mariko tending her space with those passerby the occasional glance in her direction. Slowly feeding that growing wonder she seemed to have gained. A curiosity to see how the many many copies of her own new little friend was actually performing. Despite lacking the drive to approach her at first it was beginning to get her when she was distracted for a moment. A thought, a glance to her communicator, that was enough to break her from the feeling of stillness that anchored her to where she was sitting. With that she rises to her feet and approaches.

Wearing much the same outfit as she'd last been seen in, with some slight alteration of colors that made it readily apparent it wasn't the same outfit entirely. Still, it was similar enough as Koyuki was the type to find what worked for her and largely stuck with it. Professional hazard as it was to be so utterly repetitive in that realm.

"Bayushi-sama," she cuts in after Mariko's attention was relieved from someone inconsequential. "How are your designs doing?" Right to the point.

Ichiko was still on her father's shoulders, squeezing the mascot plushie for dear life, a pleased smile on her face. For his part, Yuji made sure to walk slowly through the crowds, allowed them to see all that they could, even on a limited time frame.

"Papa, papa! We should get some stuff!" She was wide eyed as they began moving through the dealer hall. Yuji chuckled, "We will. But we still need to try and see everything, first...c

"Mm, they seem to be doing okay enough." She said cooly on the matter, trying to hint disappointment in the matter to maintain said mentioned cred. "I got a few quick buys but I was hoping more for the occasional question. I don't think people are catching on yet."

Mariko couldn't help but smirk faintly at the mention of taste. She had enough pride in her project to believe that point at the very least. "I can't be trendy all the time but I'll chalk it up to word travelling slowly."

She hovered closer to her table, which had some banners and display work to make it a little more polished than her table neighbours when it comes to the advertisement, and took one of the many plushies from the collection. "Not really. I thought might ask where I got the idea from. Or what it's so green. Or what it only has one eye. Maybe why I haven't considered doing this sooner. If I'd consider doing more designs in the future. General questions like that."

"Oh, I suppose I got these last minute..." She said as she fished something from the other side of the table and fixed a velcro-back eye over the missing spot. "Not an elegant solution but it works."

Tsuyo drifted through the expo, looking a bit like some part of the Jigoku exhibit had actually collapsed on her given the brown and red earthen stains all over her clothing. The satchel slung across shoulder to opposite hip looked well-weighted with the day's purchases as she chatted at this booth and that one.

Like...the one with some absolutely luminous paintings of a number of fan favorites transported into various realms. "Yeah, I've heard that new gum tincture out of the Fox labs is amazing for gel colors, but I don't paint enough these days for the outlay to be worth it. Is that all you're using for the effect here? You should charge more...those tinctures are not cheap!"

Tsuyo grins as her clanmate pops up. "Quite a lot of nice art here. Got some candy for the embassy and they had a really nice collection on the realms I think I can use for research." An eyebrow lifts at the request. "Only if I can see the result when you get it," she says with a smile. "Who're you commissionin'?"

Tsuyo grins as her clanmate pops up. "Quite a lot of nice art here. Got some candy for the embassy and they had a really nice collection on the realms I think I can use for research." An eyebrow lifts at the request. "Only if I can see the result when you get it," she says with a smile. "Who're you commissionin'?"

Sakura smiled shyly. "A...friend. A ronin friend." She added hastily. "Of course you can see it! I just think this would be really appropriate for her. Them." She tried to mystify things a bit...badly.

"I might buy a wish doll....not sure I can afford anything else sadly."

There's a grin that tries not to be too knowing as Tsuyo rummages for a coin. "Ahhh, yeah, I think that'd be lovely."

Completely coincidentally and not having anything to do with her guess as to the friend's ID, Tsuyo adds, "oh, invite Yurei-san by sometime before this candy gets snapped up by the embassy sweet-tooths, neh?"

"How'd you enjoy the rest of the expo?"

Completely coincidentally and not having anything to do with her guess as to the friend's ID, Tsuyo adds, "oh, invite Yurei-san by sometime before this candy gets snapped up by the embassy sweet-tooths, neh?"

"How'd you enjoy the rest of the expo?"

Sakura beamed. "Will do! I'm sure she'd love to come over. She really admires Tsuyo-sama, you know?" She was practically skipping.

"So far, great! It was really fun. I was wary of Gaki-Do, but it was a fun experience in the end. What about Tsuyo-sama?"

With a snort Jun blinked awake, he really hadn't meant to sleep but it seemed like he had needed the little bit of a cat nap. Shaking his head to clear the cobwebs, he popped another couple gummies into his mouth, before rising to hit feet and picking up his plushie.

He needed to find a home for the plushie, and to do that he needed to find someone who didn't have one.

This one could be an atmospheric story about madness, how things start loosing all meaning as time passes, fatigue accrues, coffee runs out, the writing becoming more and more erratic as the brain loses its grip on reality until two words remain, repeated again and again: Stamp. Paper. Stamp. Paper. Stamp. Paper...

The question is more if it would be a politically relevant story. I don't think it will come as a surprise if I say I've focused my efforts so far on the allies of the Lion.

He crossed his arms, considering a moment. "I'm trying to think of recommendations I could give, but my list is coming up rather short." Eyebrows went up as an idea occurred to him. "I don't suppose you'd consider adding a ronin to the list?"

"Well...despite what the holos say, ronin are a varied bunch. Some get eaten up by bitter cynicism and hatred, others seek better opportunities, and some more just end up dead."
