[D6 ME] The Concert

[Usagi Rei]

"Attaché, yes," she corrected herself with a chortle. "Assistants are the ones who take notes and search the occasional tea. I suppose attaché just get around and find themselves in trouble, hm?"

"I wouldn't consider it," she shook her head at the agent of the club promoter idea. "I think you've been around the city enough to know that clubs are filled with problems of their own. I'm sure you might have had little difficulties handling Susumu Yakumo or Asahina Hinata or Soshi Kazumi but maybe you'll land yourself a celebrity who's just too much of a handful. Trouble and always getting in trouble. Not worth the headache."

There was a pause as she looked at the stage and then back at Rei, a slight glint of amusement in her eyes.

"They have a studio over at the Kyuden Oborozuki. Always a little thing I have to attend to." She gave a dismissive shake of her head, not wanting to go into her work. "I hear the stress of Winter Court tends to cause bouts of illnesses in some people, it could potentially be contagious. A bit like food poisoning."

"Well, we're a bit understaffed." Rei said, smirking just a little. "So I do sometimes take notes or serve tea. But yes, otherwise, it's just finding trouble." He looked up onstage. "It's made me rather accustomed to it. You might even say I like trouble. I bet I could handle a difficult celebrity just fine."

He took a moment to applaud softly as the next performer took the stage. Kazumi's music wasn't Rei's favorite, but they were certainly talented, and Rei was happy to see them performing so well.

"Mmm, that's serious." Rei looked back at Mariko, his lips pressed together. "Winter Court is quite the ordeal, yes. And you're quite right. Just like food poisoning, if one person gets it, someone else is liable to as well." He glanced away before he couldn't hold his serious expression any longer; he wasn't the actor that she was, after all! "We can only hope that we'll be fortunate when it comes to that illness." Rei found himself looking forward to it already.

[Hotaru Sakura]

"I would enjoy that." he nodded . As the next song began, he stood up and smiled at her.

Sakura stood up nervously, then stood and extended a hand towards the Handsome Fox.

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

Kazumi popped back onto stage to deliver a brand new remix for the crowd a mash up and reimagining of a few classic songs by the pop legend Shosuro Eruton set to a funky disco type dance beat.

He led her to the dance floor, thankful for the classic choice in music, even with the added disco beat. The Detective followed, dancing on his own nearby.

"He often dances with me on stage." Kiyoshi explained as he danced with Sakura. "But, I think he knows I'd rather dance with you tonight."

[Hotaru Tsuyo]

"I am not nearly of such import to be concerned with the politics of going to a local performance of magnitude," she says, there's a admonishment in the neutrality of her tone. One that sits for a moment while Koyuki gazes at the stage a bit longer.

Turning her attention back to Tsuyo, she steals the opportunity for a drink of her glass as well. Eyes dancing over the woman briefly as of marking her appearance anew. Getting a read of her in the moment. A brief smile is offered following that appraisal.

"Someone that has recently become dear to me suggested that I should listen to Susumu Yakumo's music. She had insisted upon it. By my appraisal of her she is perhaps Susumu Yakumo's biggest fan, as it were. Claiming that unlike other similar performers hers most certainly has the passion to inspire a loving audience," she says, with more of a smirk than a smile.

Tsuyo looks much the same, perhaps a bit better rested even, which is odd during a winter court. "I wouldn't expect any of the clans to send unimportant folks to a winter court on this world." Her own look, over the edge of the drink half-covering her grin, grows thoughtful. "But not everyone's here ta wallow in the politics, though they're all here _for_ the politics one way or another. Suppose that would almost always include Kuni. Never heard that you're a really political family."

"But whoever said to come was right, she's inspirin'. Hard to trust the Spider overall, but there's somethin' to trust in the art there. D'ya know if she writes it all herself? Strong lyrics."

[Bayushi Tenma]

Tenma is here with her husband, in totally normal clothes and all.

"If it happens, be sure to come to me as soon as it starts to set it. I might have the remedy." She said with a straight face on the matter, managing it quite well on her end. "I might know a good Soshi doctor or two who can remind a quick remedy. Of course, if all fails, you just might have to be bedridden. It just can't be helped if it gets that bad."

Sakura blushed. "Beware, I might step on your foot. Already did it this week." She sighed, and slosed to catch her breath a bit. "Kitsune-sama must be very popular with the ladies."

Now he blushed. "Sometimes. There are the fans, but that's different. They have expectations I'm not always comfortable with. Someone who looks beneath the fame is harder to find."

[Matsu Eriko]

“Well, I didn’t want you to feel obligated to come, y’know? Especially after all the action last night.” Hide sat back, relaxed. She couldn’t help but listen to the music all the while. It wasn’t bad at all. “As far as drinks, I’ve only been here once and I was kind of boring. Had straight sake to see how good the average quality of drink would be. But, I did see this mint green drink someone else had that looked interesting. But, alas, I am not a scholar of drink.”

"If I felt obligated, you would absolutely know." She snickered. "It would involve twisting my arm, maybe even literally! Maybe kicking and screaming but okay, I'm not that dramatic. I want to be here with you! Besides, it seems like you've scored one of the best seats in the house to one of the best shows in the season. I'd be kind of upset if you were keeping this a secret from me."

She tilted her head. "Maybe not a scholar...but a professor of drink. Don't tell me I'm misremembering you ordering drinks for everyone on that mushroom miai planet. One of those mint drinks? If you're having it, it must be good."

After Kazumi finished his set, Hinata returned to the stage to treat everyone to a song from The Amazing Adventures of Space Hero Pilot Captain Inu Shikoku-ken, bringing a great energy with his poppy and cute performance!

"Perhaps I shall." Rei agreed, smiling. "If that happens, I would be pleased to do so, Bayushi-san." A slight inclination of his head, but he kept his eyes on her.

Reasonably suave, Rei managed to keep to no more than a playful smile as Mariko went on. Fortunately, that was fairly normal for him. "That's very kind of you, Bayushi-san. Thank you. Even too much of a good thing is bad for you, bedsores and the like. You don't seem to be the time that appreciates getting tied up in bed, unless I'm wrong there? Just a day or two of rest, in general, might ease it out of your system. Maybe at a private retreat somewhere."

She raised her brows at the children's show theme being played but gave a clap on the opening performance nevertheless.

"I am a shugenja, and you will not find a Crab whom does not respect the opinion of a Kuni Shugenja on some important matters," she says, but gives that lead of the tone at the end that suggest this would be all she would say on that topic. Covering that, and making sure it was noticed, by pausing for a drink at that moment as well. As Hinata joined the stage again Koyuki lingers a thought toward it for a moment, curious about the little scamp, but ultimately turns more of her attention toward Tsuyo.

"My source seems to suggest as much," she says, that hidden little smirk. "Much as I may be loathe to admit it, she is a rather extraordinary example coming from the Spider. Though that is the distinction, we are not all made entirely of the decisions of our betters. Some are better.." she says, staring down at her glass. One prime example, the one that proves the opposite true, is that some were also worse. Wearing that darker expression for a moment, the encouragement of the energy in the room wipes it away near as soon as it arrived.

Rei likewise, clapped at Hinata's appearance, smiling as he did so. He had a soft spot for the performer, after all.

"Mmm..." Rei lacked a fan, so he had to brush a hand across his face instead. "I'll try anything once." He murmured quietly to her, leaning a bit closer for a brief moment.

But only for a moment; Rei understood propriety, after all. "But a private retreat, yes. I think that might be exactly what would be called for. If my fortunes should be such that it comes to that, of course." He very much hoped that they would

The server came up, holding an electronic pad. "Barley shochu, two cubes." He glanced at Mariko, eyebrows going up. "Green-tea cocktail?" He ventured a guess.

“Well, maybe I need to stop being so worried about accidentally making you unhappy if you’re gonna be so obvious when you’re displeased.” Hide couldn’t help but chuckle at the mental image of needing to physically drag Eriko somewhere.

She then glanced over to the bar and back to her wife before standing to her feet. “Well, save my seat while I get us some drinks, then. I remember what it looks like so I can describe it to the bartender. Shouldn’t be too long.”

And true to her word, she was gone only a few minutes. In hand, she had two mint green drinks that definitely had some mint flavoring to them. The smell gave it away as she set one drink down in front of Eriko. “Apparently it’s got a slight sweetness to it, according to the bartender.”

[Susumu Yakumo]

After Hinata's introduction, the stage turned dark once more as new music began to play. Red lights bathed the stage as Yakumo returned in a new outfit with a new previousy unheard of song.

[Akodo Reki]

Akodo Reki was there of course, even though none of the acts were really her thing...her wife would have loved it, so the Akodo felt it would be good to experience. Who knows maybe she just needs to give the genre another chance.

Her outfit was largely unimpressive, just a reasonably stylish ensemble. The addition of emotion sensitive cat ears was different. Reki found them funny, and funny can't be spelled without 'fun' after all!

Now he blushed. "Sometimes. There are the fans, but that's different. They have expectations I'm not always comfortable with. Someone who looks beneath the fame is harder to find."

Sakura nodded eagerly. "I must confess...I would have probably been a similar fan a week ago." She looked away shyly...and managed to step on his tome.

"Gomenasai!"
