However, she didn't. Koyuki merely looks back at Hinata truly and effortlessly dumbfounded by the moment which just transpired. Sitting there for a few seconds while she really just considers how she wound up here, like this. A grimacing smile she nods.

"Do.. how.." Hand raised, half pointing, she curls her fingers back into a fist and shakes them once before laying the hand down back into her lap. Pausing for a long drink, chewing, and then swallowing for both clarity and mechanical need of eating. "What is your favorite color?" she asks, with a tone truly devoid of humor.

Hinata looked down . . . at his powder blue top . . . powder blue shorts . . . powder blue thigh highs . . . . while wearing a blue hat over his blue hair.

"Oh I quite like pink and silver, and purple is cool! But it's blue! What's yours?"

That it perhaps wasn't the most . . . erudite . . . of questions never crossed his mind.


Because he didn't know erudite was a word never mind what it meant.

Chin resting in her palm she leans forward to support her head against her thigh with her elbow. Looking at Hinata like he was truly a marvel of science and biology. With a somewhat piercing gaze of the Kuni afforded him incidentally by way of demeanor and makeup.

"Do you want to take a guess, Asahina-sama?"

Hinata always wondered why Kuni painted their faces so vividly when they all seemed to be sad, What came first? The facepaint or the sad? Were all Kuni sad? Did all Kuni wear facepaint? Did some have sad facepaint? All these questions and many more passed through Hinata's mind . . . to disappear in a puff of logic when Koyuki spoke.

"Oh . . . blue!?!??!!?"

Wearing a false smile she shakes her head, it was rare for her to smile- a part of her never cared how much the makeup always accentuated it but even less she rarely had cause to. However, a false smile was an entirely different beast altogether. There was only one other situation in which she wore a false smile and it was for children who were too young to know any better at all. With that little smile she could manage she inhales big, and exhales slow.

"No. I find myself rather fond of violet these days. A very particular violet," she says, and for a moment the smile seems to change. Almost going all the way into being earnest before it settles back down.

Violet meant purple meant Unicorn to Hinata. Or flowers . . . or rainbows! Or maybe that one strange fox plushy he had that had gotten into the wash with a non-colourfast dyed top of his . . .

Which is to say, he didn't get it.

"Oh violet is nice! Have you seen the rainbow pangolins at the Sanctuary here?!??!?!! The violet part of their shiny is sooooo cool."

"I was there, I saw them, but no I cannot say I noticed the violet on them. My main attraction was the spine drakes but," she shakes her head, getting herself into a whole different topic. Taking a drink from her cup she sits and lingers a gaze on him a few moments. Considering a new thought for a moment she plays with the straw idly.

"Do you know anything about Susumu Yakumo that, perhaps, others might not Asahina-sama? Anything you might be inspired to share?"

"Yakumo-samaaa?"

He looked surprised but then his eyes narrowed as he attempted joined up thinking. You could practically hear the cogs turning.

"Well I've known her for three . . . nearly four years. She trained at our Academy the same as Naz-kun, Tomo-kun and Ki-kun. Was in their classes even. I think that's why Naz-kun is always talking about her."

Talking trash, Hinata-kun, we've told you this before. Trash.

"She's so good at singing but she doesn't do the all over the stage dancing we do, and I think she and Naz-kun . . . kinda like each other . . . "

He played with his straw a bit.

"Like a lot."

Hinata . . . we told you about the trash talking yes?

Toying with the drink a little, she narrows her eyes at the end of the straw. It certainly wasn't an impossible prospect. After all, how would Koyuki know any better at all? Though, she did have some suspicions. One's that began with, 'Sure, Usagi Drop! is as dull and passionless as it can get,' and ended with the fact that if there was any of the members of Usagi Drop that Yakumo did not like, it was likely not Hinata. Which surely meant it was one of the others.

Still.. more brain power better used for other things at the moment. Like her original goal, "What kind of things make you believe that they like eachother, Asahina-sama? How do they interact?"

"Oh when they're together they're always paying more attention to each other than anyone else in the room and their talks get so . . . heated sometimes. And when they're not together, not even on the same planet they talk about each other a lot . . . a real lot."

Nothing he'd said was inaccurate at face value.

"Interesting," she says. Toying at that thought a moment. Stirring her drink as an absent fidget. Looking more past Hinata than at him, just over his shoulder she thinks on it a while. Somehow, it kind of felt a little like a game. Poking buttons and seeing what came out of him. Honestly, she was having a bit of fun with it. Not that she'd ever-ever admit that to anyone, even Yakumo probably. That was a secret that would die with her.

Sitting with it though, she wasn't quite sure what to say next. So, she sat with Hinata a little while. Just sitting with the moment in this time and place. Listening to the surrounding area, reminding herself of the other lives being lived around them with a little extra focus granted their way.

Big blue eyes looked over the boba cup at Koyuki until eventually curiosity won, and Hinata turned to see what was just over his shoulder . . .

Had she not been a Kuni. Had she not worn face-paint daily that took no small amount of dexterity and time to get on perfectly. Had she been a woman of a rather different temperament. Koyuki's hand would have met her face, and dragged down the length of it in dismay. Truly, that was the depths of the despair she now faced. Much as she might have expected, or had reason to suspect, she simply could not have allowed herself to believe that Hinata was quite this..

Inhaling, exhaling, "I could ask you about your contemporary all day," and boy did she want to, "but, perhaps I have assumed to direction too much? Would there be anything Asahina-sama would wish to discuss while we enjoy our drinks?" she says, a very slight raise to her tone like a woman preparing herself to get hit with something painful.

Hinata turned back to face Koyuki, whatever was behind him already forgotten.

"Oh? What I want to discuss?"

Crab and Crane rarely had decent conversations these days. An alliance with the Spider would do that. Also Crab press were less than friendly in their coverage of Usagi Drop! So what would Hinata talk about?

"Oh, what do you think of all the hot boys around? Like Usagi Rei-samaaa or Susumu Yuji-samaa?"

Yes. He'd picked hot boys. Way to read the room, Hinata-kun.

Bracing for the hit. It didn't come, the topic chosen could have been suited to a better audience but it was by far not the worst of her fears. Speaking on the appreciable qualities of men was one of her most famous past times, it was always quite nice to take cocky boys down a few pegs with some little too direct appraisals levied their way. There was a somewhat sick sort of satisfaction from it she simply would never care to deny herself. Boys, namely, exactly like Rei.

"I can't speak for Susumu Yuji, I have never met the man. However, this Usagi Rei is someone I have met. A man of.. interesting composure. Speaks too readily, and too openly. A man who wears a smile like a mask. A man far too charming for his, or anyone's good. A man who would be quite dangerous in the right frame of mind and company. A man who is generous with his cigarettes and time."

"A good man," she relents. Rolling her eyes at herself.

"Hot? I guess? If.. one has an appreciation for that kind of thing, I imagine you could come to that conclusion," she says, voice trailing as she certainly didn't know how in any way she could really tackle that real question there.

Hinata listened nodding along, boba straw in the corner of his mouth. Once Koyuki had finished he smiled impishly, something few had seen here.

"And he's soooooo good looking. Really hot. All those muscles, but not too many. I don't know how I managed to play oshidama against him and Susumu-samaaa without getting distracted."

By being an absolute sand dervish, that's how.

"Neither do I, honestly," she says, and takes a good long sip of her tea.

Thinking he had her on a subject of interest, Hinata expanded the array of males being considered.

"Then there's Kitsune Kiyoshi-samaaa!!! But he's a different kind of hot. Performer hot, not bushi-fighter hot. Have you met him? He has the best collection of cute fox pictures as well!"

"I have not had the-" she was about to say pleasure, it seemed like the conversational thing to do. Yet, unlike Hinata, she was far too aware of how that would play and instead sealed her lips shut into a thin line. Thinking around it, "I have not." boring, basic, serviceable.

Deviousness didn't usually become her, and yet, "I do have a fondness for performers though," she sips. "Well, their like. Other women like myself or more presenting more.." she toys around, trying to think of the word. Masculine, was the word mind. Just wasn't in the woman's vernacular, ".. rough? Softer types of powerful energy manage a type of control over their space, it's admirable."

Hinata blinked over his, now, almost empty takeaway tea cup. He also promptly got the wrong idea, or did he?

"Oh you mean like Kuni Aratahime of S.L.A.T.E. ?"

Aratahime being 6'7" of angry, musclebound, glam rock Crab performer.

"Last time we were at a festival she was at she was playing two guitars at the same time and still singing at top volume!"

If you could call it singing. Most non Crab called it very angry shouting with some music in the background.
