[D5 LM Kazumi's apartment] Afterglow (Closed)

[Soshi Kazumi]

The first rays of sunlight had been long gone by now, neither of them were creatures of the early hours and after a night of thorough celebration no one was itching to rise and shine with the sun.

So it was in the waning hours of the morning that Kazumi finally roused from a well worn slumber. The Scorpion chuckled softly remembering the complex position they found between Yurei's sprawling limbs. The ronin certainly wasn't shy with the space she took up on the futon but Kazumi was limber and able to find comfort laying over an arm and twining their legs just so.

Being the first up afforded Kazumi the opportunity to observe their...friend? Something more? Nothing different? Ephemeral concepts complicated by passionate actions and unspoken expectations. The black eyes looked over her sleeping face. Full lips, usually covered but now exposed in the aftermath of intimacy, smiled.

Kazumi was gentle and careful extricating themselves from the surprisingly comfortable tangle of limbs. Nothing much more complicated than the positions Kazumi had folded themselves into for hiding and Sneaking over the years.

Their lithe body moved feet making no sound as they went to the kitchen obly a few steps away and began preparing food to settle a different kind of hunger.

It surely wouldn't be long before the scent of cooking vegetables, eggs, and meat piqued the senses of the ever hungry wolf.

[Yūrei]

Snip

Yūrei awakes nose first. Her nostrils twitching slightly at the smell, head rising slowly off the pillow before she's even fully awake. A few moments later her eyes blink open groggily, taking a couple seconds to orientate her as they dart around the apartment before settling on Kazumi's face as she smiles.

There's a long, luxurious stretch with all her limbs one after the other, as if she hadn't sprawled over most of the futon before an equally relaxed yawn.
"Hey you."
With a grin she rolls and stands before sauntering over to the kitchen bench.
"If you're trying to win an award for best night and best morning...you're in the running." She takes a deep sniff with her eyes closed.

Hearing Yurei stir a small smile appears on the lips, a small expression she usually wouldn't see but is afforded the rare chance to catch all of Kazumi's expression not only infer them.

"Hey" came the voice soft and relaxed with just that little bit of rasp that tickles the ear "I was wondering how long before the smell woke you." They said amused while they watched her stretch, not one to miss a beautiful sight.

Attention shifted back to the food after a few seconds "I'm not usually the competitive type but also not one to turn down accolades." Kazumi said deftly shifting back towards the bench and placing a soft kiss on Yurei's cheek before returning to the cookware.

Kazumi was slender and when their muscles weren't flexing looked almost delicate. The face usually half hidden had an androgynous appeal to it, both handsome and beautiful in a way with full lips and good cheek bones.

Those lips smiled at her more fully "its nothing special just a basic breakfast." The smile became a touch mischievous "I worked up an appetite last night, figured you might have too."

[Yūrei]

She blows them a kiss in return over the sizzling food.
"If I'm ever not hungry you should probably capture me and work out what they did with the real Yūrei."
It's a testament to Kazumi's workout routine that the ronin shoots them a few admiring glances when there's food being cooked right in front of her. In contrast to the Scorpion the majority of Yūrei's mass was centred lower in her body, although the two appeared to be similarly light on their feet.

"I could eat my way through a noodle shop after that. You know, I'm supposed to be the bendy sneaky one who can fit into any position. Now I feel like I've got competition." Inhaling again
"But I can live with it."
She reaches out and runs a fingers down the cheek bones.
"And you even hide such a nice face."

Kazumi laughed more fully at her words a bit of the mischief still in their tone "but isn't fun when both parties are flexible and fit in any position?" Kazumi gave her a wink

As she touched Kazumi's face a hand came up to capture hers gently, the smile on their lips softening a bit as a kiss was planted on her fingers "Well thank you, tradition and all that. Plus I like there being a bit of mystery about me."

Kazumi released her and nodded behind her "food is almost done, mind reaching behind you to grab the tea? Top cupboard, the stronger brew is on the left if you need a pick me up, the one on the left is a lighter herbal."

[Yūrei]

"Yeah, no problem."
With another yawn she turns and reaches up for the top cupboard, not that Yūrei is particularly tall. She ends up on her tip toes whole body stretching before she can brush it open, and then jumps a little to pluck the herbal out with a satisfied look.

"A stepladder is the logical next addition to your bachelor pad I think."
Waking up a little more she rubs her eyes, padding over to the kettle and filling it quickly before setting the device to boil.
"The place is looking good though, I don't know how you have the time to keep it straight."

When she came down she'd see Kazumi looking at her with subtle mischief in the eyes and a look that was satisfied in some ways and not in others but they simply nodded and took the tea "Thank you." They said before turning and starting a kettle.

"You're right of course, I must have forgotten you're a couple inches shorter and would have to stretch to reach it." Kazumi said over their shoulder as they finished tossing the vegetables around the wok. Their tone indicated they maybe, in fact, did remember this.

"Oh? Thanks. It helps to not have too much stuff, well other than the computer corner." The place wasn't big. Kazumi at the end of the day was no one overly important and his music didn't really make that much money. Just enough to keep up with their computer hobby and keep the paint on the one room apartment fresh.

The futon and kitchen were within steps of eachother, across from the futon was an older holoviewer and on the other side of the room their computer and music equipment were crammed neatly into available space. Everything had its place but Kazumi was certainly running out of places to give.

[Yūrei]

"Ah huh."
Shaking her head in mock disapproval
"Some peoples' Scorpion. And you do know how flexible I am." Kazumi gets an eyeroll too before she turns, leaning against the bench to regard the rest of the apartment.

"At some point you've got to strike it big so you can move to a larger place, either that or you're going to end up living inside your equipment at some point." She shoots said equipment a curious look to see if there were any recent additions.

Kazumi had moved to plating everything, they had just enough bowls and utensils for two. Sautéed vegetables, seared fish, rice and a small bowl of miso soup was handed to her on a tray.

By the time this was done the tea was ready and a cup poured for each. Kazumi looked over at the equipment and shrugged "Yeah it'd be nice. Might have a bit of an....Opportunity tomorrow." They said a bit sheepishly "I'm doing a concert with Susumu Yakumo and Asahina Hinata. She wants me there for a bit of local flair it seems."

"Oh my kami WHAT? You're just mentioning this now?"
She fairs leaps at Kazumi and squeezes them in a tight hug

"First of all, how dare you not tell me literally the first second you knew!?!? Second, congratulations! This could be the big time, they're both stars. Susumu-sama especially she's...ahh! I am extremely excited! You're going to be up there with her?"


In an impressive display of dexterity Yūrei spears some fish with her chopsticks and flips it into her mouth without breaking her gaze on Kazumi.

Kazumi hugs her back tightly smirking a little "consider it pay back for the whole getting shot thing and not telling me about it." Kazumi teased chuckling a little as the fish disappeared.

Kazumi had an arm looped around her waist as they were pressed close from the embrace "Yeah im doing an opening number, playing a classic or two, have a new remix to drop and I uh might actually sing?" They said feeling a bit vulnerable.

[Yūrei]

“Guess karma got me for that in the end.”
She clearly enjoys the warm hug, with food AND good news. The perfect morning.

“You should actually, definitely, sing.”
With a reassuring squeeze
“You’re crazy talented and the whole crowd is going to be cheering you on since you’re our samurai on the stage. I know I will be.”

Kazumi chuckled "Thanks Yurei, you've always been my most supportive fan. Well, since I met you that is." It seemed a little crazy it had only been about a year since she introduced herself after a set. Kazumi was glad she had.

Kazumi gave her a long look for a moment before something shadowed Kazumi's eyes, a dark emotion flitting behind the happiness and the Scorpion turned "but uh hey we should get to eating before this stuff get cold neh?"

She'd been around long enough to know this carefree attitude was slightly forced as Kazumi grabbed some vegetables with their chopsticks.

[Yūrei]

She raises an eyebrow but doesn’t press, knowing the Scorpion will go on if needed.

“Yeah. Look at you, I was so excited I stopped eating for a few moments. Not often that happens.”
With a last smile she returns to her side of the table and starts what can only be described as a demolition. It’s as if every movement is optimised for consumption as food seems to simply vanish from the robin’s plate while her cop simultaneously empties.

The flicker of emotion passed quickly, Kazumi settling into a cheery mood for a cheery morning and watched with no shortage of amusement as Yurei inhaled her food more than ate it "You know it's both concerning and impressive how quickly you eat and suffer no ill effects from it. I'd be careful, a Kuni might think you possessed by a Gaki the way you eat."

They gave her an appraising look, eyes flicking up and down "And how you stay in such great shape all the time." Kazumi said with a smile.

A small chirping sound came from next to the holoviewer as Kurayami woke from his slumber. The tiny black dragon making sounds from their enclosure "Oh sorry Kura-kun, in all the excitement of the morning I forgot to let you out." Kazumi said guiltily as they stepped to the cage and let the tiny black spine drake free. The little animal flew over and landed next to Kazumi's plate and Kazumi chuckled cutting the small dragon a little piece of fish

"I can't remember if you met Kurayami last time you were here Rei-chan." Kazumi said in a half statement, half question looking back up to her.

[Yūrei]

“Since I never stop moving I never stop eating and it all balances itself out. The real question is how you stay in shape as a desk jockey.”

She gestures at the lithe Scorpion before her attention turns to the drake
“Oh no I hadn’t! They’re adorable. Look at you, a responsible parent.”
Yurei reminds herself it’s crazy to feel jealous about anyone eating, especially a drake.

“Are they going to perform with you?”

[Soshi Kazumi]

"good genes I guess." Kazumi said with a knowing grin "or maybe some hidden talents." they replied cryptically as they took a spoonful of miso soup

at new attention Kurayami screeched happily and bounded over to Yurei before gently rubbing his head on her arm. Kazumi chuckled "No I don't think performing is in his future, he wouldn't do well at the Wasp. Little guy isn't a huge fan of loud noises." Kazumi chuckles once more "I know, a bit of an odd personality trait for DJ's pet."

[Yūrei]

"Snip

“A scorpion of very many talents. Even some for mystery.”
She winks before leaning down to scratch the drake behind his ears

“Who’s a good drake? Who’s a fearsome dragon? You are! You are!”
The drake will be thoroughly spoiled.
“Maybe he’s just a classy and refined beast with an appreciation for the quieter things in life? Loud noises can be a bad thing at the wrong time.”

Still playing with the drake
“I’m just glad they don’t grow any larger. He’d eat as much as me.”

[Soshi Kazumi]

Kazumi snorted "ain't that the truth, little guy already takes more than a bit to keep happy." Then Kazumi smiled softly watching the two play as Yurei spoils the little dragon who starts playing back snapping playfully at her fingers and making happy chirping type noises

"He doesn't usually take to people so quickly." Kazumi said taking another bite of vegetables and sipping their tea "seems I have good taste in liking you if Kura-kun approves so readily."

[Yūrei]

Snip

“Clearly Kura-kun will be your new door guard.”
She laughs, booping the snapping drake on the news. “He’s fierce and wise.”

With a last scritch she turns back to Kazumi.
“So… about last night. It was amazing, and then breakfast took it up to divine. But I thought I’d ask if it changes anything, between us?”

She rubs the back of her neck, a little nervous.
