(D10, EE) Chasing the Extinct Dragon

Without Within floated peaceful, moored more or less permanently at the World of Dreams. It was an interesting choice for an embassy to be sure. It probably wasn't going to sail away any time soon, but it always could. It was a very Dragon concept. It seemed very fitting that Hato research into the Dragon ships going where they shouldn't should start investigating an entirely different kind of Dragon ship, perhaps where it shouldn't be.

Hato had never met a Dragon, but there was always the chance one would suddenly appear behind her, dispenses some cryptic wisdom and vanish. At least that's what the stories said.

The spartan nature of the ship and the sparse nature of the crew was going to make things difficult, but if Hato could learn the patterns of the guards, she hoped that this would be her most successful mission yet.

*Beep!*

Her communicator chimed. Another message from Nishida? Perhaps the Crime Scholar?

Koroshi: Hato-san, would you like a hat?

Attached was a hat that only could have been dreamed up by Koroshi himself. A top hat with a programmable rotating light display that read "HATO!!!"

She was glad to hear from Koroshi again. His presence was quite dazzling, but she had begun to worry that the World of Dreams had finally found a way to extinguish his bright flame. So she wrote him to him:

'This one is triply glad.

Glad because this one had not heard from Lord Chrysanthemum for some time.

Doubly glad that Lord Chrysanthemum has chosen such a unique gift, truly representative of his style.

Triply glad that Lord Chrysanthemum has given this one time to think of the appropriate moves for the game of refusals.

This one hopes that Lord Chrysanthemum is in excellent health and spirits, and that out paths cross again soon so Lord Chrysanthemum may present his present to this one.

She sent the message, perhaps not expecting a follow-up quite this soon at this hour.

Koroshi: Benikage?????????

Hato blinked a bit at the message. Benikage was a sort of place that the very wealthy and powerful ate. It was a place Koroshi belonged and Hato did not. But Koroshi was the sort of person who could also make the impossible seem mundane.

While she did want to finish her preperations for Nishida, surely maintaining a good relationship with a member of the Otomo family was important too.

She replied:

And thus she made her way over to Benikage and a truly remarkable hat.
