[Usagi Rei]

Rei looked out over the water. "Maybe." He said. His tone was... limp, might be the best way to describe it.

Then, suddenly, he turned back to her smiling. "What's the best place you've ever been. Or where did you meet your spouse? Lucky person that they are." The playful smile was back, his pale eyes crinkling at her.

[Ide Yamako]

This one has secrets or I’m a Hida. She thought tk herself.

“Hmm…my favorite place. Well, where I met my husband is easier! New Kalani as well! He was a reporter, covering all the excitement. We met in a tea shop, when it was too crowded for us to have separate seats.” She chuckles. “It sounds like a story, but it’s true.”

"It does." Rei said, chuckling. "Next you're going to tell me that you both bent to pick something up, and your heads bumped together." He teased gently.

He turned to face her fully, crossing his arms casually across his chest, the pose highlighting the masculine lines of his form. "How soon after were you married?"

[Ide Yamako]

She laughed, some of her ease coming back as she thinks of Noburu. “It wasn’t quite that ridiculous but he did win me a plushie at the arcade. I still have it.”

Her eyes are a bit distant as she ponders. “Hmm….about 8 months or so after. We spent some time visiting each other’s home worlds and families prior. This is my first trip without him, which is why you have me so chatty about him. It’s off to be without someone after only 3 months of marriage but we both have our commitments and duty to do.”

[Usagi Rei]

Rei looked at her, smirking gently. "I'm sure you don't need me to tell you how adorable that is."

His eyebrows went back up, and his smile grew a little strange. "Still a newlywed then. Goodness." A beat, and is smile turned back to normal. "When will you get to see him again? After this is through?"

[Ide Yamako]

She chuckled but watched him again. Something about marriage sets him off. Now do I want to dig or nudge?

"Yes, unless his assignment keeps him longer. He travels a great deal as well for his work."

Pausing, she decides. "Usagi-san...is there something troubling you? Your face..seems to be saying something. But I do not wish to pry if it is not desired."

[Usagi Rei]

Rei's hesitation was visible on his handsome features. A slight parting of the lips, his pale eyes just a little wide. It hung there, for a moment.

And then his smile returned, as good as a Scorpion's mask. "No, it's nothing. I think you've just caught me in a pensive mood." The smile slipped. "But... thank you for asking, Ide-san."

He tilted his head, looking at her. "I should be going. Another time, Ide-san?" There was an emphasis there; perhaps his story was just for later.

[Ide Yamako]

She nods, respecting that this is not the time. "Of course Usagi-san. I hope you have an excellent day." With that, she continues her walk, pondering all the possibilities she's starting to see on this planet.

Rei turned to watch her walk away, his expression thoughtful. His gaze lingered, even after she'd faded into the crowd.

Shaking his head with a smile, Rei finally turned away, walking the opposite direction.
