"Hmmm..." Rei's finger tapped the rim of his glass thoughtfully. "Everyone's wearing a mask. You can't tell who everyone is. You can't tell what's real and what's not. Tread carefully, until you're more sure."

He watched her watching everyone, his pale brown eyes, almost amber, standing out against the dark mask.

"It's quite the game. Speaking of which, if we've met before, you certainly have the advantage of me. As players of the game go, you're doing quite well." Rei bowed, still smiling.

"The game of weaving. Sounds Scorpion to me."

She looked back at the man, her green eyes almost having a glow to them in the lights of the room.

"I'll take your advice to heart, mysterious stranger" there was a grin "surprised there wasn't a warning about the alcohol, it's very easy to lose ones mask when the glasses start piling up. I will tell you however that we haven't met before, but of course I could be lying" she winked "so you'll have to trust me. Were your previous two times in this city also?"

"Sometimes one must step back from trees to see the forest," Reki smiled wryly, "Or so I have heard. Besides if I wanted to disappear from the crowd, there are other more shadowy alcoves."

Her copper colored eyes studied the man for a moment, trying to piece together if she had seen the man before. Which would have been difficult even if she had, given the nature of tonight's party.

"Though perhaps none so hidden as to escape our hosts' notice, eh?"

She'd likely not find anything familiar in the slender limbs accompanied by smooth curves and the mirrored mask obscured far too much of the face as Kazumi turned to her

"Well one can be in the crowd and still be apart from it, just as one be separated and yet still part of the whole." The said simply gesturing to those same rooms "I'd wager the people behind those curtains are much more involved here than you are....." they paused contemplating "How should I refer to you? Horse-sama seems, too blunt."

Nishdia was not a good dancer, at least you could tell he didn't do it often, but for some court dancing it should be enough. Of course, there was also the option that the beautiful fox could daringly take the lead,...

Oh my! He is so funny! The young woman has absolutely no idea why people talk about him as if he is the most awkward creature ever to step food on the WoD. She could continue playing this game with him forever! She can already imagine meeting him in a random court ten years from now and continue down the same road acting all gallant, in love and on the verge of a marriage that cannot take place due to duty!

Senshuken chuckles. "Some flowers wither when they are taken away from the field they flourished for the first time, no matter how much care and attentiveness they receive, and some people just look absolutely hot in red and black colors." She winks playfully. "Think about it."

She offers another bow and a broad smile. "Fare well till then, my charming stranger. You will always be in my dreams."

Sadness stings the charming masked man as he had foreseen. He endures it with a good nod. Thick is his armor, and broad his shoulders and heart. "I do look hot with red and black, but... I wager you're way cooler dancing with blues."

With a final flourish of his cape, he distances himself from the princess and says, "My job here is done. Farewell." As if in a dream, he disappears.

The fox was a very good dancer, but not one to take the lead without being prompted to. They did do their best to hint at what to do and were also agile enough to never get trodden on.

They did make sure to swirl the dress whenever they could. Got to look good.

And good looked the fox, which was evident from the smile of the Ram. After the first round of the dance, he bowed without envy. "You are extremely modest, Kitsune-Tan, you have more than a few good moves. Will you perhaps lead this stiff Ram in the next dance?"

He tilted his head, still smiling playfully. "Oh good. I'd think I would remember if we met." The flirting was nearly automatic. He let that linger a moment, taking a sip of his drink.

"It was." Rei said, letting out a breath. "I wouldn't be surprised to hear that similar parties are done elsewhere, but this one is very World of Dreams." He shook his head. "But yes, I've been here more than two years now. Enough to become familiar with things like this."

Somewhere behind the neon glow of the mask it's wearer blinked in confusion. He recovered quickly enough, however.

"There are many things this one seeks, conversation, intrigue, mischief and more. What have I found here?"

His pastel colored kimono made him stand out like a sore thumb as most of the locals had chosen to wear deep crimson to the occasion with dragon motif mask being the commonly worn. "There is always freedom in giving in, just as there are chains that tie when you take the lead. Someone in my position knows that all too well." he added, sighing softly as he recalled the hundred odd unread messages on his communicator. With power came ties that bound you down as Mineichi had come to realize. "Oh, I am very curious." Mineichi murmured, lowering his tone, almost purring the last two words. "Yet you can learn only that much observing from distance, would you not agree?" he asked her, tilting his head to the side.

"Location is everything, I believe is how the real estate-folks would say it," she giggled somewhat-innocently, maintaining the veneer of polite conversation. "Sounds like the Lord of Cats is someone who benefits from evenings like this, no? Getting away from it all. All work and no play... makes a cat a dull feline." And we can't have you becoming dull were the unspoken words.

Her head tilted slightly to the side as well, showing a little bit of the pale skin on her neck between the high collar of her ao dai and her black hair. "Oh, I do agree. Closed and undisturbed studies are essential. If one knew where to be able to conduct such observations in peace, that is..."

The Kitsune had much less trouble with heat dispersal. The clothing helping immensely with that, almost like the 'designer' had taken such things into account.
