Dai scratches his chin, "I'd guess software rather than hardware though it doesn't hurt to check."

He accepted th broke eye from Seika with a shake of his head. "It's just what I wanted." The ronin's words got a nod though. "Yeah software is mroe likely, but we can see what we can find."

"Doesn't hurt to try at least."

[Yoritomo Seika]

"Oh, yeah." Seika scrubs a hand through the cropped hair on one side of her head. "I should introduce you two, right? Jun, this is Dai, he's a local ronin. Good guy. Dai-san, this is Hotaru Jun, Firefly Clan genius, temporarily down from space to grace this mud ball."

"Nice to meet ya Dai-san." Jun replied offering a nod to the ronin before he turned his eyes to the eye Seika had handed him. It was kinda weird to hold eyes in your hands now that he thought of it. Even if they were robot eyes.

Still he'd see if there was some sort of port or something he could plug into. Maybe he could assess the workings of the eye with the right equipment? "Mud ball is appropriate too. Far to much water to be a dust ball."

"A pleasure, Hotaru-sama, even if under less than grand circumstances."

[Yoritomo Seika]

"Also, dust would make the air even worse." Seika's lips quirk at that. People here have mentioned the air pollution to her, usually apologetically, and she can only laugh--Irontide, which she sometimes calls home, makes the World of Dreams look like an eco-sanctuary.

She rubs the tip of her nose, looking at the 'eye' Jun is holding. "The bot having an image processing failure like that... it could be a coincidence, but weird stuff happens around here, too. Well, maybe normal to you, Dai-san," she adds as an afterthought. "But most cities don't have a disaster site leaking ghosts and lost souls in the middle of them."

Dai recieved a polite nod at hsi words, but Jun's eyes turned to Seika as she spoke.

"Think some sort of rogue spirit could of done it?" Jun asked raising an eyebrow. Haunted robots was a new one to him, but there were likely stranger things. Especially on a Scorpion planet. "I suppose that makes a bit more sense then programming a robot to go on a random killing spree."

Alas, the eye had standard connector to the automata brain, that was a) proprietary to Scorpion b) different from the plugs data-crystals use.

"Seems like we'd need a Scorpion tech to look into this though." He offered the group after a look over the eye again. "Or at least someone with the right type of equipment to access it." Which wasn't him at least at the moment.

[Yoritomo Seika]

"Well... maybe the locals can figure it out. It's their job, technically." Seika casts a glance at the doshin currently corralling the two children and other witnesses. Her tone suggests she's not sure how likely this is. After a week here, it's already clear to her that Scorpion law enforcement lets quite a lot of things slide through the cracks--with different priorities, in that regard, from their Mantis counterparts.

On the other hand... "The guy that died was a samurai, so that might light a fire under 'em."

"Well, we can hope." Jun replied before slipping the eye into his pocket. It might make for a neat knick knack if he put it on a stand or something, a lot neater sort of souvenir then what you could buy at the store. "For now I figure it's time to get out of here.
