(D2, MA) Tea-Time 2: Electric Boogaloo (open)

""Ahh, I understand that all too well." he said and sighed, "It's a pain to do business sometimes. Have you ever tried to make a deal with a Kitsuki? Or convince an Asako of your goods? It is an even heroic task. Especially if they don't understand the value behind it" Seika had apparently hit a nerve.

[Yoritomo Seika]

"No, thank Daikoku-sama, for two reasons." Seika chuckles. "One, those particular people might be more likely to shoot the 'pirates'"--she punctuates this obvious quotation with an eyeroll--"on sight, especially the Asako. I guess as an Imperial you haven't got that problem, at least. And, two, my superiors so far have the divine wisdom not to try assigning me to Marketing and Sales. My Da has the touch for that stuff." She shakes her head. "I don't."

"These days I mostly stand in between the priest-elementalists and the engineers and make sure they talk to each other. That can be a bit like Akodo and Yoritomo in its own way, though, sometimes. I mean, it's usually Moshi and Yoritomo, so."

[Miya Nishida]

"So you're a mediator?" he asked, pouring some more tea, "Then you must know how to defuse hairy situations, Yoritomo-sama."

[Yoritomo Seika]

"Well, sometimes I defuse them by yelling at people until they get their heads on straight," Seika demurs, lips quirking. "It's easier to resolve stuff when nearly everyone involved has to listen to you."

[Miya Nishida]

Nishdia was unsure what to answer, "It's always bad to argue with the samurai who has the bigger lever, isn't it?" he said, finishing his tea. "May I actually ask you about your camera?" he asked out of the blue, perhaps to change the subject a bit, away from trade, pirates and war.

[Yoritomo Seika]

"Oh, sure." Seika is happy to talk photography, as usual. She sets her mostly empty teacup down so that she can unsling her holorecorder and hold it up for inspection. Although the dinged-up exterior casing looks somewhat... well-loved, the Watanabe Shinmei 4x logo stamped in green on the front is still quite intact.

"It's nothing too special, but it's been around the track with me, and I've tweaked it just how I like it. For street photography, you want light and sturdy over fancy."

""I see," he set down his empty teacup, "Is photography a hobby of yours, or do you need it to carry out your duty?"

[Yoritomo Seika]

Seika laughs. "Totally a hobby. Sometimes I wish it was official, so I'd have more time for it... but then I wouldn't be able to just mess around and make what I want. Might not even be fun anymore."

[Miya Nishida]

"Ah" he said, nodding, "Sometimes it would be fine to combine your hobbies with your duties, but I can see how that would take the joy out of it." He put on a put on sad face, "I find it's incredibly hard to find samurai who can still enjoy Go. While I'm not averse to the card games everyones seem to play, i wished more Samurai would remember the old games."
