Hacking and you
In hopes of controlling information all Clans have dispersed information and services over several layers of intranets. A given intranet cannot be accessed via another intranet as per definition. The networks are independent structures that do not 'talk' with each other for security reasons. World of Dreams, being both an extremely busy trade hub as well as important administrative node in Scorpion clan infrastructure, has a multitude of networks meant to facilitate the work of the local officials and administrators.
In order to hack a network, character must have an access to a terminal or communicator and use a time slot's worth of time. In order to gain access, the character must roll Use Computers (Hacking) / Intelligence against predetermined TN.
The Scorpion have several vigilant and agressive anti-hacking systems in place that keep track of any attempts to breach the system by brute force. Only the most skilled and cunning hackers can access the deeper networks without raising an alarm. If the character wishes to hide their access to the network, they must roll Use Computers (Hacking) / Intelligence against the TN of the network + 15. E.g. to hide their access to the Rose network (TN 25), the character must rolls against TN 40.
Info.scr
Info.scr contains news and public announcements. Weather information, selected news, Imperial broadcasts as well as low level political information can be found within this intranet. To access this information character needs to have an access to any of the news consoles in the city - including computers in public spaces and hotel rooms. However without hacking the system they can only access the same information as the general public can.
Bank traffic is ran in a separate intranet - connected to most registers and businesses on the planet. Having an access to a register or computer within a business allows the access to the money traffic of that particular location. Access to deeper level(s) of the system requires hacking.
Adm.scr
Bureaucratic information, including tax and personal information is hidden beneath the bureaucratic networks - accessible from the computers and communicators of diplomats and governmental workers. The degree of access is determined by the status and position of the person owning the computer. Deeper access can be gained with hacking.
Tail.scr
Security information and personal information regarding security can be found with the city security networks. Tail.scr is only accessible from the computers and communicators of the security detail. The degree of access is determined by the status and position of the person owning the computer. Deeper access can be gained with hacking.
How do I get access to these things then?
Your character can either sneak, bluff or infiltrate their way to an appropriate console using Stealth, Sincerity or Acting respectively. TN of the roll depends on the difficulty of the task at hand. Alternatively, compromised communicator might be found on black markets assuming good Lore: Underworld roll (with at least two Raises called). Needless to say, such items are going to cost a fair amount of money besides being highly illegal to possess.

Pouch.scrBesides the basic information such as news, infomercials, public forums, Info.scr has hidden layer that is available to journalists and bureaucrats. This layer contains more 'sensitive' information not meant for the general public. This level is referred as clearance level Rose.
Beneath Rose there is an additional layer of information - available to moral officers and magistrates who monitor the Info.scr, the forums and traffic within the network. This is clearance level Crimson. Here the authorities can find information regarding on whom did what and when online.
Beneath these two layers, composed mostly of machine language and regulating the function of Info.scr, is the mainframe. Well guarded by vicious firewalls and vigilant fire kami this layer is the inner sanctum of the public network - clearance level Garnet. Only the senior magistrates and administrators have access to this level.
____
TN to hack the layers:
Rose TN 25
Crimson TN 30
Garnet TN 35
