Preparations
Observing the target
Character planning a Heist may spend time slots at the location, rolling Investigation / Perception against TN 20 go gain a Free Raise that can be used either Infiltrating or Escaping the target. Raises called on this Roll award the character with additional Free Raises that can be used either Infiltrating or Escaping the target. Character may not earn more than 5 Free Raises this way.
Finding forged security pass.
To find a forged security pass, the character must Seek Information from Slums, calling at least one Raise.
Finding stolen security pass.
To find a stolen security pass, the character must Seek Information from Slums, calling at least three Raises.
Infiltration
Infiltration takes a single time slot.
If character has forged or stolen security pass, character may try to simply walk into the target. This will lead to the NPC guards inspecting their papers. If the guards fail to notice foul play, the character may move to 'Locating a console'.
Alternatively, the agent may sneak into the facility. Should character be caught with forged or stolen documents, they will be apprehended.
Sneaking into the facility
If character has no credentials, they have to sneak into the target. To sneak in without getting caught, the character has to pass two Contested Stealth / Agility rolls against security detail rolling Investigation / Perception. If the character is not caught, they may move to 'Locating a console'.
Locating a console
To locate a suitable console, character must roll Investigation (Notice) / Perception OR Investigation (Notice) / Intelligence against TN 20. Raises may and probably should be called on this roll. Should character fail this roll, they have to make their escape, moving to 'Escape'. Should character succeed, they may move to 'Hacking roll' to procure information.
Hacking roll
Use Computers (Hacking) / Intelligence against TN 25 to break into the relevant database. Raises can be called on this roll to procure more information. Character that called 3 successful Raises on 'locating the console' may chose to pass this roll (without Raises called) automatically. After this, the character should make their escape, moving to 'Escape'.
Escape
A character that has secured an access using a forged or stolen security pass has to pass the guards once more, allowing them a chance to roll to detect the foul play, the guards apprehending the character should they be caught. Alternatively, character may try to 'Sneak out of the facility'.
Sneaking out of the facility
To make a clean escape, character has to pass a Contested Stealth / Agility rolls against security detail rolling Investigation / Perception. Should security ever beat PC roll, the agent is detected and will pursue them.
Should character make the Heist, they will gain 1k2 Information + 1k0 Information for each successful Raise called for the 'Hacking roll'.

Observing the target
Character planning a Blackmail operation may spend time slots stalking their target (choosing also the faction they are targeting - with Status rank of X decided by the player, where X is value between 1 and 4), rolling Investigation / Perception against TN 20 go gain a Free Raise that can be used either Lure or Deceive the target. Raises called on this Roll award the character with additional Free Raises. Character may not earn more than 5 Free Raises this way.
Character may try to Seek Information regarding their target from Slums - though chances are the underworld has little information on a given diplomat.
For each time slot spent staling their target, the character must roll Stealth/Agility against their target to avoid being caught.
Laying the trap
Lure the target
To get a chance to discuss one on one with the desired target, character must rolls Courtier/Awareness or Temptation/Awareness against target's Etiquette/Willpower + 2*X. This counts as opposed roll against Status X samurai from Faction character chose in 'Observing the target'. Success allows character move to 'Deceiving the target'. If the target manages to resist, the heist is over and character may not proceed further.
Deceiving the target
Once character has secured a chance to spend some time with their target, they may try to either intimidate or seduce/bribe them to reveal classified Information by rolling either Temptation (Seduction / Bribery) /Awareness or Intimidation / Awareness against the target's Etiquette/Willpower +2*X. Should character win the opposed roll (This counts as opposed roll against Status X samurai from Faction character chose in 'Observing the target'.) they may move to 'Reaping'. Otherwise they will gain no Information and might earn Sworn Enemy from the the targeted Faction (GM discretion).

Outcome
Should character make successful Blackmail operation, they will gain 1kX Information + 1k0 Information for each successful Raise called for the 'Deceiving the target' roll. After gaining Information, GM will roll on the following table to figure out the outcome of the Heist.
1-7 The Information provided by the target is genuine. No further effects.
8 The Information provided by the target is only partially useful. Halve the Information gained, rounding up.
9 The Information provided by the target is largely useless. Character gains no Information.
10 The Information provided by the target is largely useless. Character gains no Information. In addition, Character gains Sworn Enemy from the faction chosen as target.

Clans can hire i.e. pay ronin to do something for them before they have Information twice. PC or NPC. Hiring NPC will involve some dice rolling for haggling.
PC ronin can try 4 heists during the game (once per session) and may roll for Espionage normally.
PC ronin may sell information to a single faction as many times as they want - they might e.g. only sell Espionage Roll stuff or sell half Information gained from a Heist to Crab and half to the Scorpion. Each sale will trigger a roll, so it is ronin interest to make as few sales as possible.
PC ronin can try 4 heists during the game (once per session) and may roll for Espionage normally.

Hiring NPC ronin
1) Make a thread to the effect in your PF.
2) Spend a time slot in Slums looking for ronin by rolling Lore: Underworlds/Intelligence at TN 20. Raises called yield more sneaky ronin. If you fail, you can spend as many time slots until you succeed.
3) Ping Tassu to that thread - you get price. Make sure all members of your faction have agreed on this.
4) Once the price is paid, Tassu runs the script and lets you know the outcome.
