[Soshi Kioku]

Kioku had joined a number of others from the Spine Drake Centre in a stall set up at the main boulevard, where they served Spine Drake-themed festival foods, including pastries, onigiri and others, and had some goods on offer. From time to time, she would step off and join a group of festival goers walking around - although she took extra care to avoid giving obvious hints as to where they might find events, since she knew where some of them were in advance.

She was remarkably bright, surprising even some of her coworkers, who had definitely noted a change in her mood since the day before. Some wondered if she had started seeing a therapist. Some suggested Hakumu was involved.

A few festival goers might actually know what was behind it.

[Usagi Rei]

It was a casually amused Rei that walked around the festival grounds, a stick of dango in one hand, his camera in the other.

From time to time, he paused to take a snapshot; it seemed that he was actually quite good at getting pictures.

[Hotaru Tsuyo]

A very dusty and disheveled Firefly continues through the exhibits, perhaps leaning a bit harder than usual on that cane.

[Kitsu Kanna]

Kanna returned to the mundane side of the festival with relief. She wasn't surprised to have been fully blind to its more mythical side – had she had the slightest spiritual fiber she would have been a priest not a pencil pusher – but had a moment of unease when she accidentally wandered in a fully unlit part of the forest and struggled to find her way back. After all these days spent in a city that never slept, true darkness was especially disturbing.

[Susumu Sumiko]

Sumiko, still wearing her raincoat, had just finished having a conversation about the Tiger Squids and was now wandering around humming. She was clearly in a very good mood.

"Don't wander off. I promise, I'll get you some gummies." Kiyoshi rubbed his eyes. He was enjoying himself, but he was still a little tired. The Detective, on the other hand, was full of energy.

Kanna eventually noticed the presence of the Soshi's researcher, as well as her uncharacteristic happiness, and walked toward her at a moment she wasn't dead busy with her festival responsibilities.

"Soshi-sama! You found what you were looking for then?"

That is, both some biological sample and closure.

Carrying around a red bird plushie and looking pleased with herself, Reki takes the chance to rest and see how others may be enjoying the night.

Smiling, Rei waved a hand. "It's okay, Ronin-san. These paths are dark, and there's a lot of activity." He gave a bow. "My name's Rei. Usagi Rei. And you are...?" He looked at her, eyebrows raised.

Rei grunted, his hands immediately going to check his valuables; one couldn't be too careful in World of Dreams. But he relaxed as his gaze focused on the ronin, and heard the apology.

Smiling, Rei waved a hand. "It's okay, Ronin-san. These paths are dark, and there's a lot of activity." He gave a bow. "My name's Rei. Usagi Rei. And you are...?" He looked at her, eyebrows raised.

"Uh. Hitoko, Usagi-sama. And thank you, for your understanding. Yes, a lot of activity," she agrees with a smile, internally trying to right herself. Ugh, I have to stop getting so competitive! It always gets me in trouble. But at least this Hate is a nice guy. Could have been awful. I hope my stuff is ok.

"Um, are you enjoying the event here, Usagi-sama," Hitoko hurriedly asks when she realizes she'd gotten lost in her own thoughts for a while.

It always gets me in trouble. But at least this Hate is a nice guy. Could have been awful. I hope my stuff is ok.

Even as they walked, Rei's pale brown eyes continued to glance about from time to time, although he gave most of his attention to the young woman he spoke to. "I've been living here for about three years now." He explained. "Formed some local connections. I... was permitted..." He gave a vague wave of his hand.

"Hai, Usagi-sama. Lived here my whole life. It's..." She hesitates, realizing how complicated things are. "It's a good place to live, I think," she says, pride winning out over everything else. "What do you think of it, though? Since you have more to compare to?"

He smiled, looking around. "But honestly, I think World of Dreams isn't like any other place in the galaxy. I love the nightlife, the culture, the lifestyle..." Another moment, and he shrugged. "I don't know that it's good for everybody. But it's good for you?" He glanced back at her curiously.

His question makes her pause, really considering it. Finally, with a little huff of awkward laughter, she answers.

"No, it's not good for everybody. Certainly not good for, uh, lower folks," she says, trying to keep the comment vague enough to not sound too critical. "But, um," she says, stopping and looking at him seriously. "But I've made it good for me. Best I can do," she says firmly, showing a little pride and toughness.

Another plushie acquired. Jun was certainly going to need to find a person to give this and his other one away to. It wasn't that he hated plushies or anything, but they really we'ren't an effective use of space and he'd much rather fit a sake bottle in his luggage then a fluffy Dragon.

Still that wasn't his concern for the moment, his eyes were instead open for a fmailar face. He'd managed a good picture this evenign and he was looking forward to showing it to her, well if she were here.
