(D1, LA) Meeting New Friends

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"The younger ones are even cuter." Kiyoshi smiled. "But, not as bright. That's interesting."

[Asahina Hinata]

"D'awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww look at the lil cutey!!!"

Hinata normally only got like this over fluffy animals, but the shy sparkly pangolin had got his attention. He obviously had totally not noticed the sharp-sharp digging claws.

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"Adorable." he nodded in agreement. "Oh! I should have fillmed it!"

[Asahina Hinata]

"Oh you really should have!"

Now he was really undecided. Shop for plushies, or stay for more cute shy sparkly pangolin?

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

The Fox took out his holorecorder and turned it on. It seemed doubtful that they'd see the pangolin again, but they might find other interesting creatures.

[Asahina Hinata]

Well, Kiyoshi had made up the minds for them. The plushies weren't going anywhere anyway . . . unless someone bought them all!!!!!!

"Which one will it be? The lil one or the big one we saw first?"

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"Let's move back, deeper into the tunnel, and see if we can hear them."

[Asahina Hinata]

A look of confusion that quickly passed.

"Oh Ok. Do you think we'll have more chance of seeing them back there?"

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"They seem to be moving all over." he answered. "It seems like a good idea to move away from where they've been."

[Asahina Hinata]

That made absolutely no sense to Hinata . . . so service as normal. He nodded and followed the Fox.

"Are all Fox experts on animals?"

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"No, but our shujenja learn to interact with animals and animal spirits in ways similar to how we interact with the kami." he explained. "And, there are a fair number of Fox in general who do have some connection to animal spirits."

[Asahina Hinata]

"So cool. I learnt the prayer to talk to animals just so I could . . . like . . . talk to animals."

Kiyoshi could probably tell very easily that the little Asahina was using all his available willpower, not much, to resist the urge, very large, to cast the spell and talk to the pangolins if they turned up again.

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"It's a good prayer." he smiled. "Sometimes, I think I prefer talking to animals to talking to people."

[Asahina Hinata]

Hinata nodded enthusiastically.

"They're so much easier to understand. Except snakes. I always have trouble with snake's accents."

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"It's their tongues. They're so different." he nodded.

[Asahina Hinata]

"So much ssssssssth this and ssssssssssssss that! I get so confused!"

The sounds had accompanying silly faces that he probably didn't know he'd pulled.

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"Exactly!" He laughed. Which in turn made the Detective start clapping and chattering excitedly.

[Asahina Hinata]

Hinata laughed along, despite not actually knowing what they were laughing about.

"I can't hear any burrowing. Can you, Kitsune-samaa?"

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"No, I'm afraid I can't either." he sighed. "Should we go to the plushie kiosk?"

[Asahina Hinata]

Hinata had managed to forget about the gift shop already and brightened up considerably at being reminded of it.

"Oh sure! I hope they have pangolins."
