"Oh... expanding the Sanctuary would be great, but with it covering so much of an island already?" a slight chuckle. "I'm not sure it could be done. Something to keep in mind, though!"

Then, looking at the drakes along Sumiko. "If you are interested in adopting one of our friends, the staff here will be happy to provide information and help. It is important for us that they be well treated, as I'm sure you understand", she says, smiling slightly. "Although... since you mentioned reading, there are some books specifically dealing their biology, how to care for them and related topics." She seems thoughtful for a while. "I think one of them was not available last I checked in the gift shop... but it may be available again soon. You could probably find something in the Sanctuary library for now, though".

Then, pointing towards the Drakes with her head. "Shall I take you to meet some of them then?"

"We don't need a beach here right? It could be a beach wildlife sanctuary instead!" Sumiko chuckled, watching some of the Drakes moving around.

"Kioku-sama has made me curious. Having never raised a pet, I'll certainly need to pick up a book to make sure I don't do something silly like feed it bad food or don't provide enough space, or miss a sign."

She looked back at Kioku and nodded with a smile.

"Hai, let's go meet them. They might not like me after all right?"

"We don't need a beach here right? It could be a beach wildlife sanctuary instead!" Sumiko chuckled, watching some of the Drakes moving around.

"Kioku-sama has made me curious. Having never raised a pet, I'll certainly need to pick up a book to make sure I don't do something silly like feed it bad food or don't provide enough space, or miss a sign."

She looked back at Kioku and nodded with a smile.

"Hai, let's go meet them. They might not like me after all right?"

"Oh, but where would we play Oshidama then?" Kioku says with a slight chuckle. And besides... the Drakes do like beaches too! Just... maybe not so urban!"

Then, nodding in the direction of the glass and plasteel building. "Oh, sure some of them will like you, Susumu-san.", she says in a friendly tone. "I hope you do like them too."

Then soon get into the large lobby, glass enclosures with adult drakes playing inside them extending on each side, a number of doors leading to other rooms on the sides and at the back, behind a counter where some employees talk to visitors. "Since... the accident, I suppose you could say the Drakes are the closest to a family I have. They.... they're a piece of work, at times, but they can be really loving."

"Ah, I see" Sumiko nodded in understanding "they seem like very friendly pets to have. You've been part of all their lives now too right? So they likely see you as family too, or at least the food provider" there was a smile "is it easier with a younger or older Drake if you haven't had pets before like me?"

"Play among the Drakes! It would be funny to watch them jump for the ball" Sumiko giggled as they reached the lobby, the small Spider girl looking at the adult drakes.

"Ah, I see" Sumiko nodded in understanding "they seem like very friendly pets to have. You've been part of all their lives now too right? So they likely see you as family too, or at least the food provider" there was a smile "is it easier with a younger or older Drake if you haven't had pets before like me?"

The idea of playing Oshidama with the drakes brings a sincere smile to the woman's lips. "Oh... now we must try that, Sumiko-san! Although we may need smaller balls for it to work."

Then, looking at the adult drakes with her. "I suppose they do see me as... well, an important figure, at least? Although each of them would likely think of their trainers, and later their tutor, as their closest family", she adds with a smile.

"Younger drakes are... well, they need a lot of work, and they are usually more full of energy. But they will be very loyal. Although adult drakes can also get used to you over time - they tend to be more set in their ways, but they'll learn too, and if you treat them right they can get very attached to you too! The main thing is... well, you'll need some work with them to get them to trust you, regardless of their age. There... are a few exceptions, though... a few of our drakes are remarkably intelligent and learn very fast. But they - and we! - want to make sure their tutors take really good care of them, since we have great hopes for them - as I'm sure you should understand!

"The creatures look very intelligent, I can see it in how they approach and act" Sumiko commented as she studied the animals closer "I'm sure I don't need to say that you can tell in their movements and how they interact with their surroundings to show that, but I think with adequate training they could learn to understand the concept of a game like Oshidama. I'd love to see that happen too!"

She smiled.

"Are we allowed to go in and interact with them? You could show me the correct ways to do so."

The Soshi seems delighted with the idea. "I'm almost frustrated I'd never considered that before, Sumiko-san... to my knowledge the Sanctuary has only trained some badgers for something like that. That's certainly becoming a pet project now!"

She then gestures towards one of the side doors. "Oh, sure, I'll help you with what you might need." Then gesturing to the glass enclosures closer to them. "Any particular ones you'd like to meet?", she asks with a smile.
