(Day 10, EA) Flying Fancy Free

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"Hopefully, I will be training her, but that has not been formalized yet." Kiyoshi smiled. "She's playful, though."

The drake flit about.

[Asahina Hinata]

"She looks it."

He traced his finger around the glass after her movements.

"Oh . . . training her?"

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"Tutor her is actually what I was told." he shrugged. "I'm not sure what that actually involves. But, it should be fun."

[Asahina Hinata]

"You can talk to her though? I mean talk talk to her not just talk to her?"

He made some hand gestures that totally did nothing to explain what he meant.

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"I could." he nodded, patting his densai. "But, I haven't yet."

[Asahina Hinata]

"Oh I talked to Airi . . . I mean talk talked, until I lost the kami's attention before I could even say goodbye. She was really excitable, once she got over the surprise of a samurai talking to her so she could understand."

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"I can imagine." he grinned. "Did she have anything to say about Usagi-sama?"

[Asahina Hinata]

"Well at first she was angry that he hadn't talked to her like I was, until I tried to explain to her that he couldn't. Soon though she was happy we climbed the tree to join her and she said how much she loved Rei-Rei-Daddy."

He didn't even realise he'd said it.

He chuckled. Rei-Rei-Daddy would never be forgotten.

"That sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe I should speak with Goldwing like that."

[Asahina Hinata]

"Oh she'll . . . it was she right? . . . will be so surprised and happy. Just like Airi-sannnn was."

There was perhaps a little excited bouncing on the spot.

Encouraged by the Asahina's excitement, Kiyoshi brought the appropriate prayer up on his densai and called on the air kami.

Hinata waited avidly for the resultant drake speech, forgetting he hadn't cast the prayer himself. He also idly noticed the differences in Kiyoshi's prayer to his own . . . and then promptly forgot them.

[Soshi Kioku]

Kioku had been taken up by some work inside - there was always a fair amount of that, and even more now with plans to bring back other species - but she eventually shows up in the lobby. Seeing Hinata and Kiyoshi playing with Goldwing, she comes closer with a pleased smile.

"I see you two are getting along really well, ne, Kitsune-san!", she says before bowing respectfully to both. "Asahina-san, Kitsune-san. I hope you've been well?"

"Yes, Soshi-sama." he bowed deeply. "I was just about to see how Goldwing was feeling. How are you today Goldwing?"

[Asahina Hinata]

"Oh, hi hi Soshi-samaaaaa!!"

He only broke his avid staring at the spine drake briefly to greet the Scorpion.

"Oh, hi hi Soshi-samaaaaa!!"

"I see you're quite excited, ne, Asahina-san?", she said, bowing to him and the Fox respectfully.

Crane keikaku. It had to be Crane keikaku. Right? She widened one eye for a moment, but let go of the thought - this was about Spine Drakes only. It had to be, right?

"Yes, Soshi-sama." he bowed deeply. "I was just about to see how Goldwing was feeling. How are you today Goldwing?"

"Oh!", she exclaims simply, looking at them both. "If this is what I'm thinking... we don't do this often, as most prospective tutors would not be able to do it and it might be a bit frustrating for the drakes if they got used to it. But as you'll be caring for her... I'm sure she'll love it", she says with a warm smile.

[Thimacek]

"Yes, Soshi-sama." he bowed deeply. "I was just about to see how Goldwing was feeling. How are you today Goldwing?"

The Drake, meanwhile, was quite cheerful even before hearing the human she'd met before talk to her - in perfect Drake hissing!.


Goldwing

"Smell-good furry-friend friend! You can talk to me!" The drake had become quite friendly with the Kitsune during the other visits, and seemed even happier now, moving forward to perch on his shoulder.

"Why's it you smell good? You smell like fruit! Auntie sadface smells good too... but she's more mint. Or lavender! But I like your smell better!"

Some poking with her snout later, Kiyoshi hears some more words... possibly worrysome. "Does smell-good furry-friend also taste like fruit then??"

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"No." He laughed. "It just means I like fruit, too. I can bring you fruit. What do you like?"

[Asahina Hinata]

Hinata looked between all the others present and facepalmed at the hissing.

"Oh right . . . I didn't cast the prayer so I don't get to hear them this time!"

[Thimacek]

"No." He laughed. "It just means I like fruit, too. I can bring you fruit. What do you like?"

Goldwing

"Oh! I like many! Slurping on blood-oranges, diving head-first into havoc-cado! Sweet-sweet soft dragonflies, of course! And persimmons! Love the smell of persimmons! Except when they're too unripe! Aick!"

The drake seemed excited with the fruit talk... and Kiyoshi sure smelled like fruit!

Maybe if she tried just a bit...

"What fruit does smell-good friend-friend like then? I wonder which one gives you this smell! Hisssssss.... squishy pears? Nooo... Ah! Squash-pears!"

It was too much to handle - the small golden drake, quietly, stealthily as a chameleon waiting for a fly.... suddenly sent off its somewhat coarse tongue to scratch the Kitsune 's neck, then gave him a tentative, soft, friendly (??) bite.

"Not squash-pears! Aaaah apteriberries??
