After a few beats in, she took a second thought about the situation. There was a light that dawned in her eyes. "Wait, so he went in there, avoided the magistrates, took some weird footage, and got out? That's pretty wicked, actually. Badass, even! I should get around to finding this guy, or seeing what he found. Is he a friend of yours?"

A small shrug.

"This one would not necessarily deem that one a friend, Doctor Badass." Hato honestly admitted. "However, this one DOES possess the com code for that one and would be willing to attempt to arrange a meeting between the two of you, if Doctor Badass should so wish it."

The Kuni gave a glance at the tunnel to the depths before her. Suddenly the prospect of trying to get some spooky and creepy shots in a wildlife sanctuary seemed extremely silly compared to someone who might have some true footage of a truly spooky and creepy place on the World of Dreams, perhaps the creepiest place here. She was losing quick interest in going down there. "Yeah, that would help a lot actually. I would like that and what do I owe for this favour?"

The Kuni gave a glance at the tunnel to the depths before her. Suddenly the prospect of trying to get some spooky and creepy shots in a wildlife sanctuary seemed extremely silly compared to someone who might have some true footage of a truly spooky and creepy place on the World of Dreams, perhaps the creepiest place here. She was losing quick interest in going down there. "Yeah, that would help a lot actually. I would like that and what do I owe for this favour?"

Hato was fishing out a battered and outdated communicator when the Kuni mentioned coin.

"This one would not wish to trouble Doctor badass with such as trivial thing as the cost. If Doctor Badass decides that a small gift of coin is appropriate for such a small service, this one trusts that Doctor Badass can weigh the weight of the coin against the service appropriately. If Doctor Badass decides that this one should do this for Honor alone, this one will trust that that is the correct course." she offered.

Regardless of the Kuni's decision, Hato sent off a text to Dai:

This one has a Kuni who is interested in a private showing of your latest film. She may even be amicable to hiring your services as a tour guide where no other tour guide goes if you suggest it. Please inform this one when you can meet with the Kuni to see your film and discuss such things.

Off the text went into the either.

The most basic of text chimes sounds, heralding the arrival of Dai's return response.

Hato read the text and nodded to Doctor Badass.

"It looks like he can meet with you tomorrow in the morning or in the middle of the evening. Would Doctor Badass wish to receive him at the Crab embassy, or somewhere else?" she asked.

"Well, I guess I could spare something..." She paused to consider. "Are you likely to get hurt anytime soon? I could spare help on that, or are you just knee-deep in shugenja friends that you're good?"

At the response, she gave a snort. "Psh. Like I'd like anyone else at the embassy to get a peek at this find. They'll probably demand that I submit a spirituality report or something lame and diplomatic. Nah, let's save the paperwork and meet outside of that. Eh, also let's meet the day after tomorrow."

Hato blinked a bit at the comment on shugenja friends. Clan samurai were so weird. Wasn't the gift of the shugenja supposed to be rare?

"While this one is not planning to be hurt any time soon, this one would be more than honored to have somewhere to go for the unplanned aid that isn't the Shrine of Passion. This one doesn't entirely trust them, but cannot argue with what they charge." she said, quite pleased to have a shugenja to heal them.

"Of course, Doctor Badass. Where would you like to meet him at that time that is not the embassy?" she asked.

As edgy and fringe this Kuni wanted to be, she was still in a place of privilege after all. "Okay, cool. So you can come to me if you get hurt and I'll fix you up under the table. Not literally. You know." She shrugged, at that. Being edgy and fringe meant she wasn't above taking side work at least.

She nodded at the question and her gaze hovered to the ceiling as she pulled a time from her schedule, at some time she wasn't sleeping. "So, yeah. Let's say early afternoon. He can pick the place but I'm expecting primo stuff, everything you've talked about!"

'The Kuni wishes to meet the day after tomorrow (Day 7) in the early afternoon. She has said that you are allowed to choose the place. From what this one knows of her, this one would suggest you pick somewhere in the 71st Habitation Dome on the side closest to the desolation. Please respond back with a confirmation and a location."

Hato sent the text.

"This one would not be concerned about that Doctor Badass. After all, his reputation is on the line. While Doctor Badass does not care for gossip, rumor spreading of someone claiming they could dive through the desolation only to be exposed as a rank poseur? 'The Brave die but once, but the coward dies a thousand times.' she said.

I didn't know if everyone in the city made a habit of lying or not. Still, sounds like an interesting guy, at least. Would really like to know how he does it."

Another basic ping heralded Dai's response.

That can be arranged. Have them meet me here. That should be the right aesthetic.

(Dai includes a set of coordinates for a dive 'sake' bar in the slums which the owner has never bothered to name nor create a sign for and whose sake is pretty much rubbing alcohol and water)

"Ah, he has agreed to meet with you Doctor Badass." she said relaying just the coordinators of the meet-up, but not the picture or text.

"Cool," she said after digging into her pockets to get her communicator to jot down the coordinates pretty quickly. "Sounds like an interesting place. I'm sure that's where they keep all of the best sake. None of these lame celebrity-endorsed and overly 'nya-nya' kawaii bullshit swill they serve at the bars around here. I've been trying to make my own alcohol at the embassy's showers, kind of like how they did it back then. But anyway, that's my business."

She pulled out another communicator that looked rather beat up, despite having a casing that would indicate it was meant for use in hostile environments. Turning it on, she showed a contact for a 'Kaiu Kayda'. "Call me here if you need anything."

Well, as always, it would seem the Crab was half-right. The sake at this bar was definitely not going to be celebrity-endorsed kawaii swill.

Hato entered the number under 'Doctor Badass' (though she did make sure to note the actual name in the notes field, so she wouldn't forget it), and sent a text so the Crab would recognize the number when she did call.

"Of course, Doctor Badass. This one hopes that it exceeds your wildlest expectations." she offered with a deep bow.

It felt to Hato that it was a good time to part ways, but she left that up to the higher ranked woman.

The Kuni would stow the old communicator back in her satchel after she was done. "Cool. And yeah, it would make my stay a little more exciting after that lousy tournament. Stupid Drop Bears...Anyway, thanks for the tip and all that. I guess I should check the rest of this super tame place, later now."

She gave Hato something of a snide salute and walked on toward the tunnel.
