[D6 MM] Sustenance Scheduled

[Hotaru Sakura]

Sakura settled down in the canteen area of the Embassy, some food and tea in front of her. It's going to be a long day for sure, so whatever energy she could muster was needed. Accordingly, she piked her tray hiiiigh.

Breakfast at the embassy was pretty decent. At the very least it was better then the stuff they usually got on ship at least. It even tasted mostly fresh.

Spotting a familiar mon in the small crowd of tables he brought his tray over and nodded a greeting to the young woman. "Morning... Care if I sit here?"

In between shoveling down some food that would make Yurei proid, she nodded before finishing a meal.

"Of ciurse Hotaru-sama! Hotaru Sakura." She did a seated bow. "Recently of the Firefly, by Hotsur-sama" the ambassador"'s grace."

"New blood then?" Jun replied returnign the bow before taking the seat. Meant she probably hadn't properly gotten her space legs in yet. Space legs were a thing... Right?

"Sounds like not by marriage either." The grace of the ambassador didn't sound very marriagey at least. "How you liking things thus far?"

Salura slowed her shoveling of food for a bit.

"I l9ve it! Everyone's so great, and helpful." She smiled shyly. "I managed to get my certificate not too long ago, so I'm also cleared for space mining, though never left the wolrd..."

She took a sip of tea.

"Hotaru-sama has mined asteroids?"

"Well, you'll likely get a chance sooner or later." It would be weird if she didn't bizarre even. "Is that something you're looking forward to? A chance to go into space and maybe mine some asteroids?"

Here question did get a nod though. "But yeah, I'm assigned to FMV - IMSW-C5. Or the Akemiae as her crew calls her. So most days of the year I'm out there minign asteroids."

"Well, you'll likely get a chance sooner or later." It would be weird if she didn't bizarre even. "Is that something you're looking forward to? A chance to go into space and maybe mine some asteroids?"

Here question did get a nod though. "But yeah, I'm assigned to FMV - IMSW-C5. Or the Akemiae as her crew calls her. So most days of the year I'm out there minign asteroids."

"Ah, I see! Here to enjoy court then, for a break? What area were you working there?" She asked curiously, extending hand towards her tray, looking for her next victim.

"Not so much enjoying court as enjoying the planet." He would avoid court as much as he possibly could really. That was one palce he was certain he shouldn't be after all. "Though not sure it's exactly my type of place." Jun shrugged. "Suppose we'll see."

"On the ship? I'm a miner mostly, though I assist in piloting some and also help with repairs. Crews aren't too big so it's good to be able to cover a few different roles just in case."

"Not so much enjoying court as enjoying the planet." He would avoid court as much as he possibly could really. That was one palce he was certain he shouldn't be after all. "Though not sure it's exactly my type of place." Jun shrugged. "Suppose we'll see."

"Is there anything Hotaru-sama is specifically interested in? I'm happy to be a guide to the planet, if you'd like." She smiled in a wide, friendly way. Really astonishing really, for someone born and raised here. Maybe drugs are involved?

"Oh? Piloting sounds exciting! And dangerous!"

Drugs were most assuredly involved, but then they were probably in the air here, so what did it really matter? "I like a good drink, especially at a place that isn't super busy. I mean busier places are okay sometimes, but it's hard to relax and enjoy the alcohol in palces like that. Other then that, I kinda like things you don't get to see in space. Gardens or the like. As for you guiding me, I wouldn't mind but you don't have to make the time for me if you're busy either."

Her comment abotu piloting got a smirk. "It is both of those, but then most things n space are at least a bit dangerous. Comes with floating around in a place with no air outside."

Sakura nodded vigorously. "Certainly, I can understand that. Hm...I think there's a decent place at Horogai. It's Crab run, and not a high end one." She smiled. "But sometimes, that's the fun of it, neh? As for gardens, the Garden of Mists is quite lovely. Technically, there's the New Grove, but it's not really for sight-seeing. Unless you're a weirdo, I guess." She thought of the rumors.

"There are probably enough weirdos out there for me to skip being one." Just replied with a shake of his. This planet likely had more then it's fair hare of them too. "Guess i'll have to check out the Gardens of Mist though." Maybe it was the sort of place you took a girl? He'd probably need to check it out before he tried that though.

"Did got to some place at the Mall last night." He thought for a second. "Think it was called Kenkin?"

"There are probably enough weirdos out there for me to skip being one." Just replied with a shake of his. This planet likely had more then it's fair hare of them too. "Guess i'll have to check out the Gardens of Mist though." Maybe it was the sort of place you took a girl? He'd probably need to check it out before he tried that though.

"Ah, that was it! Kinken is a pretty good place actually. Cheap too." She smiled, taking another helping of food in her mouth. Chewing quickly, she hurried to resume the conversation. "Certainly, the Mists can be quite romantic. I went on a date there once." Course the date went bust, but the atmosphere was nice?

"Just ignore the gardening robots."

"Yeah, I rather liked it." Was his kind of hoel in the wall, well almost. "I'll have to stop by again sometime."

At the the mention of dates his lips spread into a brief wry smile. "Just one? You're not an dunattractive woman, i'm a bit suprised you haven't had at least a few folks try and take you there." Of course it could be she was just picky.

Sakura smiled shyly." Arigatou. Well, in my old life, romance was sometimes a luxury, and in my new situation...time was a luxury." She shruged. "What about Hotaru-sama? Are wife? Husband? Lover?"

"I can understand that..." It was pretty hard to find a date on a mining ship. Sex? Not so much, but a date was really hard. "Nah, not yet. Though I figure the clan will try to marry me off soon." Time was ticking after all.

"Have had a few flings in the past of course, but nothing really recent."

"I like girls." Jun replied helpfully before smirking for a moment. "I spend months at a time on a tiny mining vessel with a half dozen or so other people. So I'm not all that picky when it comes to asking someone out."

"Just as long as we get along most of the time we're together is about good enough for me." He paused. "That's not a bad thing is it?"

"Just as long as we get along most of the time we're together is about good enough for me." He paused. "That's not a bad thing is it?"

"A, it's certainly helpful." Sakura smiled helpfully, then laughed. "No, not at all. I mean, I like people with long legs and good humor. I don't mind if they have a healthy appetite, I guess. At least I know I don't have to worry about them starving."

She took another gulp of food. "Do you like..bold people, I guess?" She tried to guesstimate Jun's height at a glance.

It was probably fairly easy to tell that Jun was more compact then anything, and obvious perhaps from his tray of food, he didn't have the largest appetite either. "Long legs are nice.' He agreed with a nod. "Someone who smells good too." Though that might sound a bit weird. "Or at least not like grease and rock dust."

"Don't mind bold." He replied with a soft chuckle. "I'm a bit straight forward myself, and bold just means you can get from start to finish without forty seven stops along the way."
