[Hotaru Sakura]

Rei grinned as she poked him. "I don't think you're gonna be able to guess this one." He teased. "Although maybe you won't have to. I had a talk with her a few nights ago, and we agreed to give it a try. So... we'll see." His smile grew.

Then it faded. "Of course, that was a few nights ago. I haven't seen her since then." Rei's lips pressed together. "I've been so busy with the investigation. And Yuria..." He sighed. "That's going to complicate things a lot."

"Ah well, I guess then I 'll just have to wait and see." She smiled. "Perhaps we can do a double date sometime?" She stepped away and sat on the edge of his desk. "When is anything ever simple on this planet, neh?"

Rei considered that a moment. "Maybe. You'd have to promise to be cool about it, though." That was as much as he felt like he could say.

Chuckling, Rei shook his head, his arms crossed over his chest as he looked at Sakura next to him. "Never. It's always complicated. I imagine you know that even better than I do. You grew up here, after all." He looked up at the ceiling. "It's like in theater, drawing the audiences eye to what you want them to see. I just hope I can get it all sorted out..." He sighed again.

Chuckling, Rei shook his head, his arms crossed over his chest as he looked at Sakura next to him. "Never. It's always complicated. I imagine you know that even better than I do. "When I'm not cool? Pft." She waved a hand to wave away his well-founded concerns. "I guess it's like theatre...could never afford to watch it live." She looked him up and down. "I'd offer my help, but...not sure I can. IF I can though..." she sighed. "I'll have to fit it in. Not sure I'll have my load of free time anymore soon."

Rei shook his head, closing his eyes for a moment. "I'm not sure anyone can. Except maybe the Scorpion... and I don't think they would." He sighed.

His eyes flickered open, and he managed a smile at Sakura. "Oh? What's up? Got a big project coming up, or something?"

Sakura nodded. "Mmhmm, if it's with the Scorpion...the price could be steep, I guess." She shrugged. "More duties, I expect. The library is more or less done, and court is winding down, in a way, so Hotaru-sama let me know he expects my attention to focus on more pressing matters. Like taxes, and contracts, and fluctuating ore prices, and on what does a burgeoning new colony need that a spacefaring clan might have no idea of." She smiled, though there was some fatigue in it. "You know, the usual."

Rei grinned. "Right. After Winter Court is when I get to take my break, actually. I submit all my paperwork, and let the analysts and accountants sort it out. But... I guess you do analysis, don't you?" He chuckled.

Then he gave her a sympathetic smile. "I'm sorry. But hey, a return to life as normal sometimes is a relief all on its own. Whatever normal is." His smile turned crooked at that.

"I was hoping to get some dates in with Yu-chan, but we're both so bussyyy." She smiled at Rei. "But hey, if you get to take a break, I can pass some of my ideas off to you if interested?"

"Hm...let me see." She ran her fingers running through the surface of his desk. "There's always the classic...walk along the beach when the sun is setting. Eating out somewhere....ooh, maybe rent the theatre for a romantic showing?"

Rei looked at Sakura, eyebrows going up. "Oh, these are date ideas, huh? I didn't realize you were such a romantic, Sakura-chan." He teased her, grinning.

He shrugged, his smile turning gentle. "We actually talked about taking a beach vacation. One of the private ones, so it's just the two of us." Well, and maybe a bartender. "I love the city, but sometimes I want to get away, relax in the sun and water... have a drink with a little umbrella in it. That sort of thing."

"Hey, believe me, I know how to go do the beach. And you know I take good care of my skin." Rei smirked at her.

He sighed pleasantly. "Actually, the beach is one of my favorite places to hang out. You should take Yurei there sometime, if you haven't already. Make a day of it. I recommend one of the quieter beaches."
