[D6 MM] Sustenance Scheduled

[Hotaru Sakura]

It was probably fairly easy to tell that Jun was more compact then anything, and obvious perhaps from his tray of food, he didn't have the largest appetite either. "Long legs are nice.' He agreed with a nod. "Someone who smells good too." Though that might sound a bit weird. "Or at least not like grease and rock dust."

"Don't mind bold." He replied with a soft chuckle. "I'm a bit straight forward myself, and bold just means you can get from start to finish without forty seven stops along the way."

"Oh, smells are important." Sakura nodded mightily. "I am sure I wouldn't have lasted so long with my previous roommate, if she wouldn't have smelt nice."

She took a sip of tea. "I see, I see." She smirked. "That does seem to be the way most Hotaru tend to lean, I feel."

"You may not have to look at someone when it's dark, but you certainly still have to smell them." Jun confirmed with a nod, he had more then a little experience himself sharing a bunk after all.

"Yeah, I know that feeling. Before joining hte Firefly, I lived in a tiny apartment with a friend. We were practically sleeping in the same futon, it was so small. Luckily, she was shorter than me, so we made due."

She pondered. "On a ship...do you guys bunk all in one big room, right? Male, female, all together?"

Sakura certainly did seem to be getting a bit spoiled by Firefly dustball life, but Jun wasn't going to completely burst her bubble as it were by telling her some honest truths. Some thigns were best to find out in person, and at the very least she seemed to be used to similar situations. "That sounds pretty rough." He replied after a few bites of his own breakfast. "Can't imagine that tiny space was cheap either."

"More or less, most mining vessels have a couple bunk rooms, but you end up bunking with people of both genders, and space is kind of at a premium so privacy isn't always east to find. You get used to it though."

"No, not really. Sometimes the heat would be turned off cause e couldn't afford it. Thankfully we had blankets." And each other.

"Space is premium in space." She giggled at her own lame joke. "Were you born on one of the carriers? They must be magnificent." Sakura seemed to imagine the glamorous parts without the "falling apart in space" part of the deal.

"Not wrong." The firefly replied with a smirk. "Or at least the space in space is premium space." That was likely too many times to say space to be funny. "But yeah, I was born on the Iron Moth, raised there too and it's where I went to school."

"They are magnificent. Basically giant cities in Space, they serve all of our needs or as many of them as they can manage." Some thigns had to be bought though.

Sakura snorted into her food in laughter.

"That's a good one. I guess there must be comedy night on the mining ship on occasion." She glanced down, still smiling, then looked back up. "Sugoi...I watched the virtual tour stored on the computers here, but wow...it must be amazing."

"You do what you can to keep entertained." Even if it was bad jokes. "What that is varies a bit between crews."

The second statement recieved a nod. "It is, planets are ncie and all, and I suppose they have their good points but being up there is simply amazing. Nothing quite like it down here." Even if most would find living in space a bit weird and dangerous. "I hope you get to go see em sometime soon."

"I can imagine. What about escape room scenarios? I guess either people love them or loath them, when you're stuck on a spaceship, getting locked in and racing against a clock is not always fun."

She let out a sigh. "I hope so! It all looks so..amazing. Wondreful. Unreal, for me, really."

"I mean that kinda thing kinda takes me back to my school days." Oh shit scenarios being run through as precautionary measures. "It's not quite the same though, but I figured they'd go over fairly well." Not with everyone of course, but that could be said for most things.

Sakura nodded slowly. "I..think I do. I kinda feel something like that already. For you, it's probably different, but since I was born a ronin, with only my father, and I guess, my mother, for a while, with me as a unit." She used airquoes here. "It was quite a drastic change to become part of a caln." She smiled. "I quite like it, honestly."

"Certainly, everyone has been very nice and helpful." She smiled in that annoying sincere way, where you know the poor sod meant every word. "I am very happy that Hotaru-sama has blessed me with his grace."

"Well, I'm happy to have you too." She seemed nice enough, even if she ate enough for half his shi[p's crew. "WE could use more faces, expecially those used to life on a planet." They were apparently getting some space on one after all. They could use people who knew how to live on them."

Sakura smiled. "Sometimes it stil lseems surreal. I cannot imagine how it all looks to live your whole life on a ship, in return, you have difficulties imagining the same on a planet. Well, I will certainly try to enrichen the clan with my perspective."

"Yeah, I honestly think weather is the worst, hot one day then it's cold the next. Not to mention all the wind and rain. Not quite sure hoe people live with it." He shook his head. "I guess most people are used to it, but it's really weird to me."

Sakura alughed. "I'm kind of used to it, I guess." She found it...cute how he found an umbrella so interesting. "Hai, that must have been fun. I have a hoodie, with the Firefly mon on it. I got it from Hotaru-sama when I swore fealty..it's a simple thing, but I cherish it very much."

"Hoodies are nice, pretty useful on a ship too. It's not truly cold up there, but it's not exactly warm either, so somethign fairly durable and warm is a must."

Jun finished up his meal and pushed the tray a bit away from himself. "Useful is a good thing."

"Though you likely have some expeirence there." A ronin that wasn't useful wouldn't get to stick around any place after all.
