Sakura blushed a bit, but her eyes turned away. "He was a ronin, like his own parents. Unfortunately, or fortunately, the details of our exile has been lost to the past, and my father was always more concerned with the future than the past. He was a good man, and he raised me since I was about..3, I guess? Before that, I was with my mother, a geisha, until then." Her smile turned sad. "That didn't work out well, but my father...he did everything so...fully? Sincerity is a virtue of bushido, and he lived it through each day, in every action. No half-measures. He taught me most things I know now, and even i nhis death, he was sensei." Her smile completely fell away. "He was away on a job, and things turned bad. He could've run, leave the job unfinished, but that wasn't him. He died, but he completed his objective." "Both were born into the Fox, but they're very different." he began. "My father is a diplomat. He has negotiated many arrangements with the other Minor Clans, including my initial contract with the studio. I suppose I may have gotten some of my charm from him, but I take after my mother in many ways."

"She comes from the Byako, one of our vassal families. They isolate themselves in the wilderness, away from even the limited civilization of the Kitsune. Like the rest of the family, my mother is a talented shugenja with a strong connection to Chikushudo. She also likes to sing. She rather stay in the forest, though."

He smiled "Two younger sisters, both of whom are content to be like our mother. I think they'd like you, though. They might not want to leave Inari's Cradle, but they have all sorts of questions about the rest of the Empire."
