The preparations were made. The Yakumo poster and the holoslates were left behind. The most auspicious time had been selected. That guard two days ago on the Late Night shift seemed too good to risk encountering on the actual intrusion. With luck the the embassy staff would either be worn out and drunk from the convention, concert and party, or they were busy dealing with the drunk and exhausted samurai from said events, making sure none of them ended face down in the fountain.

Hato wondered what it was like to be one of them. Smiling, dining on the best food, drinking whatever they wanted, doing whatever or whoever they wanted. Wanted. None of them knew what want really was. None of them knew what is was like to be so hungry that you'd fish through the trash hoping to find some small edible bit of food that wouldn't make you too sick. None of them had ever huddled over a heat grate hoping to keep just warm enough to keep all your fingers and toes. None of them had ever prayed to all the fortunes that the Scorpion would miss seeing you so you wouldn't be the ball a delightful round of kick the ronin.

With a proper Spider mindset and a serious demeanor, Hato walked with purpose to the guard at the front of the embassy and presented her papers.

The man at the door was rather meticulous, spending a good while going through Hato's papers before letting her pass, nodding approvingly.

A serious bow as was proper for one of the guard's station at the guard station. He was, after all, the front line of the Spider security at the embassy.

And as Hato had expected, he was certainly a higher caliber guard than they employed down at Shadeworks.

Hato made her way with purpose down the hallway. She didn't want to spend quite so long as she had at Shadeworks. A little bit of haste would likely be less rash than a leisurely search.

A minor cultural attache's office was located with an unlocked terminal. It's owner was too unimportant to be closer to easily seen by those of great importance, and had almost certainly gone to the Mantis party and gotten smashed as only a minor functionary could.

Hato worked her art over the console, a razor sharp Kakita blade to slice through the Spider's code-armor.

Int/Use Computers 2 Raises called for More Info, 45 vs. 35 Pass.

Hato nearly whistled at the info she was able to access. Apparently this attache was cc'd on a few things that really probably should have been above his security clearance. It wasn't quite as good as the Shadeworks job but it still ought to impress the client.

The data secured and in her possession made her way with purpose back to the exit and once again presented her papers.

There would be no party to celebrate her work. In fact there would be condemnation if it were widely known, but Hato walked back out into the World of Dreams satisfied that she had served the Duty she had taken up, even if it was only for coin.
