[D4, ME] Instruments of Destruction

Ready to go Heavy Metal, KHII's Chief Engineer presents himself to serve the Imperial diplomat fully equipped with his machinery and devices. As the crates are checked by the Seppun, he waits for Nishida to greet him.

It would not be long before Setsu was escorted through the halls, up to the lobby by a small army of servants. They carried most of the things he had brought with him in tools, one insisting on carrying Setsu's coat, while another offered him refreshments or snacks.

They led him behind the lobby to a small conference room that had been temporarily rearranged for the present purpose. There Setsu finally found Nsihda, who was standing over the new chassis for his bot, dressed in a rather casual outfit (in his case a cheap suit) and a leather apron.

The bot in question was attached to Nishida's portable computer via a cable and he was probably backing up the bot to his device.

"Greetings Setsu-san," Nsihida said as a servant brought him in, "Sorry for the mess."

With a bootle in one hand and a back of snacks in the other, Setsu finds himself a bit lost with so many people entering the room placing stuff around and then leaving away so swiftly.

"Greetings, Nishida-sama. These look like really good snacks." He provides a bow and then mentions the bag. "Where should I place them?"

Nishida pointed to a vacant spot on the wall. "I hope I'm not too much trouble," he said, rubbing the back of his head, "I understand the basics, but I don't think I could do the transfer by myself."

"Trouble?" He shrugs and places the items where indicated. Then he approaches and cracks his knuckles, "You're Imperial now, you get people to solve trouble. You're not the trouble. You're actually the major part of solution."

Setsu starts to run through the profiling applications to check all the major performance KPIs and then digs into the code itself. "So, new chassis would allow for additional drive is that right?"

He raises a finger, "Ah! Which specific application you want to provide the AI with: offensive ranged, melee, defensive, or something else?"

"So far I only have one error correction module in the bot that replaces autmatic error code, with the new chassis I would be able to add two more modules" he agreed.

"I think defensive would be the best choice" He knelt on the ground and shook the bot's limbs a bit, "it's not holding up much so far, and I hardly think it's fit for combat in its current state."

"Alright, time to give this beauty here a new dress." Setsu begins working his magic and in not so much time, the transfer is fully complete.

He makes a dramatic pose, and then pushes the Enter button saying, "Rise and shine, sweetheart!"

The transfer was complete and after assembling the chassis, Nishida realized why it had ended up dusty on a shelf.

The bot pulled up and greeted the duo with a beep, waving and bowing to the samurai.

Nishida was silent at first. Then he broke the silence, "She seems to be working fine."

"One of a kind." He mentions to Nishida, and asks the robot, "How are you feeling today, darling?"

"It is my pleasure to serve" replied the bot in a brassy voice.

Nishdia put a hand to her chin, "As I thought, I guess I need a real-voice module, you can't leave it like that."

Setsu has a genius idea –– or devious –– and starts to laugh inwardly. After a moment, he smirks and mentions, "If I may be so bold, I think I know just the right voice to give to her."

Setsu knew more about engineering than Nishida, yet he wondered what the kaiu was up to. He thought about it and came to the conclusion that it couldn't get any worse than it already looked. "

Setsu-san, you'll probably know what you're doing" he said before taking off his apron,
"Excuse me a moment, I'd like to get some tea," he announced, and set off to shoo a couple of servants around.

Setsu finds himself unsupervised with both hands over an Imperial computer within the Imperial Embassy. The thought of hacking definitely passes through his mind. Yet, being an engineer, logic tells him he wouldn't have the time to do so. The risk of hindering both himself and Nishida, too. Perhaps, another chance.

Back to his real devious plan, the Crab starts to compile the voice emulator he had on his personal computer and then downloads all the vast amount of voice samples publicly available –– and some of his own repertoire –– to train the AI in reproducing the pitch, cadence and timbre of one of the most appreciated singers in the Empire.

Yes, you know who!

Once done, he uploads that into Y4SUK1 and asks her, "Can you sing something for me, darling?"

The bot did as instructed and started to sing one of Yakumo's most popular songs, mind you, not a playback, but, trying, to really singing it.

Even though it was extremely imperfect as the audio quality of the voice module was not nearly good enough to reproduce a convincing copy of the voice. Programming her into the singer role would probably take a bit more time.

He nods, proud of their work, and applaudes the robot's attempt, "Hey, Nishida-sama. She's marvellous, isn't she?"

Nishida returned with a tea set and stopped briefly to listen to the bot. He looked at Setsu briefly, he had heard rumors about his obsession with Yakumo, but Nishida was not prepared for him to have a voice sample for a bot from her.

"It doesn't quite come close to the original." was his reply, "Although her speaking voice is more pleasant than her singing voice, I think."
