Sumiko didn't move or react to the touching, she remained quiet and still watching the man look at the piece of art on her wrist. Once he let go and commented she lowered her head.

"Thank you Miya-sama. It was very painful when it was done, and using a computer or reading a book was very difficult for a long while after, but the completed piece was worth it. You said your mother has something similar? What is her tattoo like?"

"It is a spider's web, starting at the neck and spreading to her shoulders. Woven into it were the names of her ancestors, blessings, and later the names of her children," he said, describing his mother's tattoo.

"As a kid, I never understood the meaning behind it until one of the kids from Yasuki Academy told me he had to insult me. Spider bastard he used to call me. Ironically, there is no name for him now."

He was silent for a bit before continuing.

"Power is something beautiful, dont you think?" he asked in what must have been a context for him.

That tattoo sounds wonderful" Sumiko said with a smile, although as she listened she lowered her head.

"It's a shame that children become inspired by their parents views and take it out on others. I was never very popular in schooling, but I didn't have to experience that kind of treatment. Still, you have come out of it stronger, and now you're an Imperial while he's nothing. I'd say you've shown a Determination and Strength to rise above those who tried to keep you down, Miya-sama" she looked back up at the man with a smile "not letting the past hold you down or shape you, rising above it and becoming far more than those who tried to keep you down."

"That's right." he nodded and cleared his throat.

"Anyway Sumiko-san, when would you mind if I took you out?"

"Well, there is the festival tomorrow right? So shall we say the day after? If that matches Miya-samas schedule "Sumiko lowered her head respectfully towards the man.

"That sounds good, then I'll mark down the 15th Tiger." he replied and would mark it down in his Densai calendar later.

"Now we've done a lot in a short time, have I asked you if you've had breakfast at such an early hour? Or offer anything else?"

"Oh, I haven't. I came here straight away in the morning" Sumiko smiled "if it wouldn't be an imposition I'd love to join you Miya-sama. We could discuss other improvements that could be made to the bot?"

It was clear Sumiko was interested in the topic, and there would be plenty of ideas batted around.
