Trying to use the break in the downpour as an opportunity, with many occupants of the Crane Embassy either stepping out for fresh air now that the precipitation is more manageable, or near windows to get what refreshing daylight they can, Hitoko sets her plan in motion. She knows that little used exit that she found is unlikely to be guarded, so that's where she heads.

Hitoko was inside the building without fuss, though of course it took a lot of work on her part to make the initial approach look so easy. Once she was in, it wasn't long before she spotted a favorable terminal to access the network - of course the Crane would have a full-access terminal inside every conference room for whichever poor flunky had pulled scribe duty for that meeting.

Ears perked to sense any approaching danger while she worked, Hitoko slunk into the room and started to work on the unattended console. Meeting agendas, notes and action items? Sure, why not, she thought as she pulled down folders and folders of electronic information for the unassuming data stick she'd slipped into the terminal. Fashion forecasts? Good kami... Fine. Whatever.

It's not long before, her data stick filled with a wide assortment of files from the Crane network, Hitoko is creeping back out of the building, heading for what she hopes will continue to be a poorly attended doorway.

Moving purposefully off through the Diplomatic District, even a talented tracker would struggle following Hitoko through the mist and her using every trick she knows to lose any potential tails. She resists the urge to even pat the pocket holding the data stick until she's far, far clear of the scene.

Of course, once she is safe, the message goes out to her employer to settle up.
