Early in the morning a message dings on Yamako's communicator, a short video message from Yūrei's contact number.


"Mmmmhgller."
It seems to be showing a blurry shoulder, as if the sender is lying in their futon

With a pained sound
"Ummm, good morning Ide-sama. I'm sorry but something's come up."
The video feed wobbles slightly as a small mound of ice packs collapse and there's a half second of a very bruised ronin fumbling with her device.
"I'm so sorry, but maybe we can meet up again later? So-" Yūrei appears to try to move one of her arms and promptly stifles a curse. "-Uh, yeah. My apologies again Ide-sama."

Yamako wakes up to the sound of her comm, but the adrenaline hits her quickly when she sees what has happened. She sends a quick text message and begins getting dressed.

"Yurei-san, are you ok? Do you need medical assistance? Where are you?"

There's a little 'ting' a few moments later. A few sentences of text clearly typed in a hurry given the spelling errors.

"No no, am all fine. Work related, you shouldn't be involved."
an emoji of a...tomato? That could mean a number of things.
"I think I've got a healer I can go to. It's just gonna take a while. In my apartment at the moment. Safe."

Yamako slows herself as she checks her comm again. She sends back a quick comm. "Very well. If you require a safe ride to the healer, please let me know and I can dispatch a car. Or if you would find that too traceable, I do have some funds that are...less traceable."

Yūrei sends an emoji of a little smiling mask and a thumbsup.

About 90 minutes later there's another ting on Yamako's communicator

"Hey Ide-sama, just wanted to let you know they patched me up and it's all okay."
There's a blurry selfie, somewhere on the street, an embarrassed looking Yūrei with a shiner but no other obvious injuries.
"Can I give you a call?"

She replies quickly, having been catching up on other communications while waiting. "Yes, of course. I am glad to see you are all right, relatively speaking."

A few seconds later her communicator rings. It sounds as though the ronin is on a busy street her voice tired but with an effort to sound energetic.

"Hi Ide-sama, uh. I hope that message this morning didn't cause you too much worry. I was a bit...out of it."
Yamako can probably hear the facepalm

She can hear the chagrin. In text she says "Do not worry Yurei-san, I was also somewhat distracted. I am glad that you are feeling more yourself now. Were you successful in your...task?"

A slight pause, just the sounds of the city.
"Uh, yes Ide-sama. I was. I am as stubborn as I am foolish. But now next food cart is on me, I promise."

It almost sounds like the ronin is going to hang up, but she pauses.
"I've been thinking about what you said, at the Sanctuary. About wanting to change things, improve myself."

She chuckles and responds with a video message, now that she is calmer. “Well, if you insist. But this will only escalate the civility battle we are starting.”

After a brief pause, she continues the message. “Every path to improvement starts with a single step. A moment where one decides that things must change and will. Perhaps this is your moment.”

A brief message is sent afterwards in text. “Maybe we could discuss this further tomorrow.”
