[D11 LE] To The Victors

[Kuni Koyuki]

Koyuki was happy to see everyone get a drink in hand, and happier still knowing that she was the one who put a chosen concoction there that was suited as best she could guess to the persons tastes. There was a pride in that little moment. One shared by the moment now that follows it all as she looks out over this group of smiling faces, and life. Everyone of them managing to possess something that still feels so distant to her, so hard to grasp. A love of live that she just couldn't grasp like the others in this room seemed to be able to.

Yet, she was there when they needed her. Reki, Reki she focuses on often because of everyone it was most true for her. Had she not have gone with them this whole room might have been empty and that thought sits with her, sinking deep. Though she doesn't tackle it now, and she can't let it warm her, it embers something deep within her that would only help reveal itself later.

One piece to the puzzle of who Koyuki becomes is right here, in this moment. Arms crossed over her midsection, head leaning against a wall, as she looks out over all of their faces with an appreciation she doesn't understand.

This was what she fought for, and she was always a fighter.

Arm around Sakura, Yūrei bows as they finish. Definitely not gently hip bumping her friend as she missed some particularly high notes.
"Couple or no couple, someone else needs to get up here while I give Sakura-chan some singing lessons, or a hug, maybe both."
She holds the microphone out to the next brave samurai.

[Matsu Eriko]

"Oh, boy, the pressure!" She chuckled out loud in good humour before she took two quick gulps from her drink for some last bits of liquid courage in her veins.

Eriko set aside her drink and made her way toward the karaoke machine to accept the microphones from Sakura and Yurei, which she would pass one to Hide when she joined her. As she fiddled with the screen to go through the countless number of choices on its screen, perhaps going as far back as a few centuries of songs, she would give a glance to Hide for her feedback. "So, are we doing an encore for the audience who aren't familiar with our duet or are we switching it up? Do you have something in mind?"

Hide meets with her wife by the karaoke machine, happily accepting the mic. “Welllll… I’m down for whatever. But I kind of wanted you to choose our song, because this is kind of a party for you.”

“Just to warn you, all my song choices are old and sappy.”

"Woooh! Old and Sappy! Sakura-chan loves old and sappy!"

Sakura giggled slowly, then drank some more. "Not everything I like, or everyone, is old and sappy Yuuu-chan." She sat down, and reached out for something to munch on meanwhile.

Yūrei instinctively holds out an opened packet of spicy rice crackers, how she got it and where it came from is probably best left unexamined.

"I'm definitely old and sappy though."

Sakura took the packet without asking anything.

She knew better after all.

"Oh, you're not oooold Yu-chan." She winked at him. "Have a seat, neh?"

Nishida sat and watched the people sing, happy that they all seemed to have made it out safely. He sipped a beer and felt a little taken back to the time in the Drukn'Crab on Asakaze.

Reki let out a sigh of relief and whispered, "Thanks for that Rei-san."

The Lioness lets her eyes drift around the room while the married couple gets ready to sing, the corners of her lips tug up a little at the ronin and the Hotaru. Both had seemed like nice girls and had helped her clan mates when it mattered.

Seeing the Imperial off by himself she waves, "Miya-sama, I don't think we have met before. I assume you helped my kin with their investigation. Thank you for that Miya-sama. Both for my kin's sake and for what it ultimately stopped from seeing the light of day."

"Akodo Reki, Gunso and Adjutant to 52nd Legion's Operations chief."

She shot her something of a playful, albeit Kuni-infused, glare.

"How about a two for one, folks?" Eriko would ask the room at large as spoke too closely to the microphone to have her voice boom through the speakers. "Oh, sorry about that...How about we have Hide pick a duet and I'll pick one after. Set 'em up and knock them down, eh? The double team!"

Smiling, Rei applauded. He understood the importance of being a good audience.

Picking his drink back up again, he leaned back against the bar, content to forget about his problems for at least a little while.

Rei was content to lean back against the bar and drink, watching Hide and Eriko perform together. They were truly a good, wholesome couple.

Sighing, he took another deep drink from his glass.

Sakura sighed, and sipped her drink from a nearby seat, next to Yurei.

"Relationship goals, neh?" She whispered to Yurei, before glancing around to the others.

"This is good. We needed this."

Sakura turned to place a small peck on the top of her babe's hair.

"Oh yes. We might also need more drinks, but that...nah, that can wait. This is good." She leaned on top of her head, taking in her smell, her warmth, her presence.

"Myself and Usagi-san here did indeed help with the...louder portion of this whole affair." She took a sip of her drink, the Lioness briefly turned her attention to the singing Matsu. Her smile turned wistful, "They are a lovely couple."
