[D11 LE] To The Victors

[Kuni Koyuki]

Koyuki gives Reki a quick dip of her head, a glance to Rei, shrugging. "Crab liqour tastes awful strong, you learn to make do," and that was all she had to say on his bit of questioning. As a quick glance had to be spared over toward Sakura and Yurei to know a little more of their personal lives than maybe she felt like she wanted to. Focusing on Yurei, well- maybe that just kinda is how things go given what she'd been exposed to. Little flicker of embarassment, a rush of blood to a stony expression hidden beneath paint.

Finding something of a fear in the prospect of the karaoke machine coming out. Which meant it was time for her timely announcement of, "I- uh- have to go make drinks. Anyone want anything fun?" she asks, and quickly rushes over there. Starting first on mixing something together for Yurei and Sakura, Kuni special.

[Usagi Rei]

Reki's cat ears went flat at Rei's comment, she said softly, "Used to duets too, I suppose." She smiled sympathetically at the Hare.

Rei looked at her, mildly surprised... but only for a moment. "Yeah." He returned her sympathetic smile. "It was our thing."

He gave Koyuki an acknowledging nod. He tilted his head, regarding her curiously as she rushed over to the bar.

"Let's see what you've got, Yurei!" He called to her, grinning.

[Matsu Eriko]

Eriko tilted her head curiously as she looked around the room and saw the people who showed some hesitation in participating stick out like a sore thumb. She tossed up her hand with a sigh. "Aww, come on, people! What's with the faces all of a sudden? It's only karaoke!"

She went to the closet and wheeled the cart to the information in the room, getting it set up for the party. Thankfully, the hotel was sure to include instructions so that there wouldn't be any sorts of mishaps happening with the guests mishandling the equipment and accidentally hacking the world with it. It was thankfully mostly wireless, so it just took some device pairing and it was done.

"I'd say that if you're perfect at the singing thing, then you might be taking karaoke wrong. It's not a talent show but think of it more of like as..." She looked up and considered a description. "A modern draw-lot play but without the messy clean-up afterwards."

[Yūrei]

"Matsu-sama is right! And also Kuni-sama!"
With a thankful nod to Koyuki for the strong booze in hand, Yūrei seizes one of the microphones and starts fiddling with the machine

"I'm putting 'I Honour that Way' by the Roji Otokodate on and I need some support on this one."
She beams, vibrating slightly with energy.

[Matsu Hide]

“Well first dibs has been made! Show us your stuff, Yurei-san!” Hide plopped down on the couch, excited to be part of the audience of this first performance.

“Why don’t you sing with Hotaru-san?” The Lion waggled her brows at both the ronin and the Firefly in a teasing manner.

[Kuni Koyuki]

"I refuse to abase myself in such a manner," Koyuki notes to any near enough to listen, at the same time she returns once more with another drink. This one directed into the hands of Eriko, and it's a orange looking thing that seemed like it would welcome one of those little umbrellas in it. Heavy on the citrus flavors it melds with and masks the taste of the sake base rather well, and makes every sip rich with a distinct flavor of fresh orange and a bit of pineapple.

Likewise, she comes over to Hide next holding the exact same thing she'd given her wife. "Thought it would be cute," she says the word that feels horribly foreign on her tongue, and one would be forgiven for desiring never to hear her say it like that again.

[Hotaru Sakura]

"Thank you Kuni-samaaaaa!" The Hinata Speical Calling Sign was used, and the girl hasn't even taken a drink yet?

She hopped up next to Yurei. "Oh okay, if you insist Matsu-sama." Thrusting Yurei's drink at her, she beamed. "But I'M choosing the next song, for sure."

Chortling, she searched for the lyrics. "Which one is this again?"

[Yūrei]

Snip

Yūrei wraps her arm with the microphone around Sakura's shoulders as her drink dangerously sways in her other hand. The Karaoke machine starting up.

"It's that old one everyone knows, you know about wanting stuff."

Bringing the microphone up as she starts belting it out

"Yeah
You are my fire
The one desire

I want honour that way"

[Hotaru Sakura]

Yūrei wraps her arm with the microphone around Sakura's shoulders as her drink dangerously sways in her other hand. The Karaoke machine starting up.

Sakura smiled...and leaned in dangerously, to take a sneaky sip of her drink, her lips leaving a gold tint on the glass.

"Oh, that one? I see..."

She sang along with her girlfriend, off key of course. But hey, she hit the lyrics!

[Usagi Rei]

Half-smiling, half-groaning, Rei leaned casually against the bar. Some of the notes Sakura hit made him wince. But he had to admit it was a good time.

He took a long sip from his drink, sighing as he did so.

[Akodo Reki]

Reki leaned on the bar next to Rei. She kept her On as Sakura sung off key...but the cat ears flattened on her head like they were trying to shield themselves from pain.

She sips her drink and smiles, "So what's next for you Rei... Usagi-san? Now that you're a big damn hero."

[Usagi Rei]

Rei didn't have cat ears that could flatten on his head, but his quick wince gave the same impression.

He half-turned to face Reki, splitting his attention between the performers and her. "Well... there's some things I've got to sort out. Personal matters." Rei gave her a significant look; she was one of the few who knew. "I may still- yikes..." he paused a moment, glancing at the stage, then back to Reki, "-I may still need your help on that, Akodo-sama."

Then he shrugged. "After that... life goes on, eh?" He held his glass out to her, invitation to clink hers against.

[Akodo Reki]

"For good or ill, one just keeps moving forward." Reki's smile waivers a fraction...the ears leave little doubt what that meant. Still they perk back up by the time the glasses met.

Then they go back to an agitated alertness. "You only need ask." The ears flicked forward as if to remind the Hare their wearer was a fierce killer when needed...

She relaxed and the ears did as well.

Likewise, she comes over to Hide next holding the exact same thing she'd given her wife. "Thought it would be cute," she says the word that feels horribly foreign on her tongue, and one would be forgiven for desiring never to hear her say it like that again.

“Oh! Thanks! I see Eriko has a similar drink.” Hide then realized that’s what was supposed to be cute about the drink. Which she was glad to have during the performance.

“Eyyyy, good job Hotaru-san and Yurei-san.” Hide tried to clap, but her drink was in her hand. So she clapped one hand to the base of her palm instead.

[Matsu Eriko]

Eriko knew better than to prod a Kuni about participating in karaoke. Admittedly, Eriko was the exception when it came to the art and Kuni-born, not the general norm. She gave a blink when she was given the drink by Koyuki, however. It was most certainly plenty sipped once the singing happened.

"A great duet is a sign of a great couple!" She cheered after Hide, giving her a glance to see if she recalled their duet together.

"For good or ill, one just keeps moving forward." Reki's smile waivers a fraction...the ears leave little doubt what that meant. Still they perk back up by the time the glasses met.

Rei grinned. "Sounds like you're next, Matsu-sans!" He gestured to her and Hide.

With the way Hide looked at Eriko as she sipped her drink, it was obvious that she remembered their duet back on Asakaze. But as they were both called out by Rei, Hide stood up, placing her drink on one of the end tables.

“And the audience has spoken! I guess we’re going next, huh?” Hide shot Eriko a wink.

[Hotaru Sakura]

"My Sin is Desaih-re!" Sakura stopped singing when she noticed that the song ended abruptly...for her. Everyone else was waiting tensely for it to be finally done.

Oh well.

"Go ahead, Matsu-samas, ganbatte!" She waved with her drink., and suddenly noticed the Hare standing with Akodo....Reki?

Oho.

"Rei-sama, care for a song with Akodo-sama after?"

Wow, subtle Sakura. Real subtle.

[Akodo Reki]

Reki's smile waivered and she glanced at the Hare. The ears drooped. "I'm not much of a singer."

Her copper eyes were met Rei's.

Do something...please...

[Usagi Rei]

Rei gave Sakura a look. It was definitely not one of his usual smiling looks. "We'll see." He said, his tone flat and unencouraging.

He flashed Reki a quick reassuring smile. "Don't worry. I always manage to dodge singing. And dancing." He said to her, voice low. His eyes drifted away. "I actually can sing... I'm just not really up for it."
