All At Once [Day 10, LE, Closed]

[Kuni Koyuki]

"Mmmm." Koyuki vocalizes her little rebellion against the idea, but her limbs already move to stir. Leaning up, off, and away from Yakumo as she comes to her full consciousness again slowly. A brief yawn stifled with willful intent. Half asleep eyes, she finds a little more renewal. Only realizing that earlier wasn't some horrible dream state by the feeling of the makeup against her cheeks.

"Yea, they need me," she says, that groggy sleepiness. Starting to lean forward on the couch to stand she stops. Like just remembering your car keys before you leave the house she turns around, and gently kisses Yakumo without much thought.

"Thanks," she mumbles as she endeavors to stand.

The kiss was returned, while her arms gave some assistance to Koyuki as she worked to stand. "Mm, you're welcome, dear," she said softly, giving Koyuki a peck on the cheek. "Can I get you something to drink from the bar, while you freshen up?"

She had been thinking like an energy drink or someting from the minibar, but Yakumo realised it might've sounded like something else. "Or anything else?"

"Water," she answers, still sort of half dazed as she moves across the floor. Walking off toward the bathroom while rubbing her eyes she barely bumps into something but immediately seems fine, and doesn't seem to disturb the little counter piece much. Entering into the bathroom she allows the door to shut behind her.

Then proceeding to take a fair bit of time not only bringing herself back, but removing and re-applying her makeup!

Water. Right! Good idea! She probably wanted to avoid being dehydrated, so she not only picked out a bottle of water from the well-stocked minibar, but also two of the small cardboard-tubes of salt potato chips.

"Hmmm... what else..." Yakumo tapped her chin, "oh right!" To go with the water, she also took the sportsdrink bottle, with its tacky blue color and big slogans of rejuvenating you after exercise and stuff. Yakumo hated those drinks herself, but knew they were good for her during a concert.

Grabbing one of the bags she almost never used, the rations were packed away and placed on the table, ready for Koyuki when she was ready.

Yakumo was yawning when Koyuki finally would come back, fighting off the desire to doze off as she waited.

Returning some many minutes later, Koyuki was fresh faced. Which was another one of those sneaky benefits of her face paint that you could neve rreally read how tired she was when she was absolutely dead exhausted. Still, she wasn't about to let herself call it quits anytime soon. With a return to her height and confidence she comes over across the room, the fresh scent of her makeup heavy in the air as she approaches the table. Looking out all that was gathered with a curious knit of her brow.

"Thanks," she says, simply. Finding a little more of that awkwardness she'd known she'd have. It was hard to evade the facts once you knew them, even if you wanted to. Still, she could fight on.

"Sorry. I kept you up later than I should have," she offers, a slight upward curl of her lip. Leaning forward onto the table, looking to Yakumo but not directly as she might have normally. Not quite managing to meet her eyes like she was uncertain of if she should, like Yakumo might see through her if she did. That slight heat at the back of her neck from the embarrassment of it all.

"Hey, don't worry about it," Yakumo said with a sleepy yet sincere smile, giving Koyuki a pat on the arm. "Go out there and... kick ass, right? And take care of yourself. Come back alive?"

The last question couldn't hide her hopefulness or concern.

Nodding, the touch of a smile on her lip. Koyuki would venture to look a little bit closer to Yakumo but still doesn't quite meet her eye.

"I didn't survive alone on that planet three years to die to a bunch of scummy pirates or somesuch," she says, and tries to chuckle but it doesn't come out quite right. Moving around the table to come to Yakumo's side she finds herself hiding in the physical things she could do. Like taking Yakumo's hands for one moment, looking over her face with wandering eyes in a quiet moment.

"Sleep well, okay?" she asks, and then brings her hands up to Yakumo's jaw and cheek on either side. Waiting for an answer before she'd seal it with a kiss.

Yakumo's hand felt warm and soft, despite their miscolored appearances.

"I will. Don't worry about me." With those assurances given, Yakumo was the one to lean in for a kiss first, only beating Koyuki by a fraction of time. Lips likewise felt warm and soft in their touch. It was not a deeply passionate kiss, but it was tender and caring.

Koyuki's return was slower, lacking the energy that it normally held. Though she was there with presence for their kiss, keen on the small details of it. Struggling though as she subtly was with the feelings there. Koyuki still held her intent and sought the warmth that emanated from Yakumo's side like it would help kindle her own flame a little longer.

"Can't ask me that," she says, breaking from the kiss. Offering a soft and tired smile, one she needed intent for. Both hands coming to rest on Yakumo's shoulders with one last brush she would back away, and take her goodbye right there. Moving to exit the room.

"Can always ask," she retorted, chuckling warmly, "doesn't mean I get what I ask for though."

As Koyuki stepped away and moved towards the door, Yakumo waved goodbye to her as their eyes met one last time.

Was hard to resist her when she sought them, even when it felt such a heavy thing to do. Violet eyes looking back at her she puts up a smile, and then leaves.

/exit Koyuki!

She watched Koyuki leave and stepped over to the door, listening to the sound of receeding footsteps as she locked the door.

A minute passed, and she was certain that Koyuki had gone. Her tired form slumped against the door and with some effort she turned around to place her back against it as she heaved a heavy sigh.

Maybe in another time, under different circumstances, Yakumo imagined that she wouldn't have seen the obstacles that Koyuki seemed oblivious of. A Spider and a Crab... it was a nice fantasty, but would either of them want to give up who they were - their identities, so rooted in their clans? A proud Kuni, still maintaining the ancient traditions of that family, and her - a spawn of Daigotsu Morio. The blood of Daigotsu himself was literally in her veins.

Yakumo closed her eyes. Pinching and rubbing the bridge of her nose. "Ugh, what a mess." She wasn't sure herself exactly what those words were directed at or referencing to. Maybe her own messy thoughts, messy heart. Or Koyuki's feelings. With a sigh she finally pushed herself away from the door, stepping over to the closet where she stored a lot of her belongings that she always travelled with.

It was just one simple small spider-plushie among the tiny collection of other nicer-looking pluhsies, but this one was a special one for her. As she cradled the precious thing against her chest, her feet finally led her over to the bedroom. The dressing gown was discarded and slippers were kicked off, and the pale Spider crept into bed, hugging the plush-spider closely to her.

"Hey Yu," she murmured, idly stroking one of the spider's little legs. "If you were around, you'd let me know somehow, right? As you look at me with a new face, a new identity... but you'd let me know somehow? Maybe you'd wear the watch I gave you, or say the lyrics to the song that was only for you... maybe you watch over me from afar sometimes, just to check if I'm doing alright before you go on your way..."

Another yawn as her eyes drifted close. It would take some time before sleep finally claimed her, but at least she was finding peace with the memories of an old love. Her first love. It hadn't been a perfect one, and it had been brief... but it was fond and precious regardless.

Just like Koyuki was too.
