Night at Akatsubaki was settling down. Final performances were being given. Decisions, both of the Oiran and guests both were being declared and negotiated for the future, and others were settling their affairs. There was a pervasive sense of finality that slipped into the establishment as it entered the final hours of operation for the night. It was a time of night that Koyuki liked most. That feeling of twilight that hung in the air at such a time, in such a place, the settling down of the world even in a place like this for just a little while.
