[D6 ME] The Concert

[Bayushi Mariko]

Fortunes, that pout. Rei traced her lip with his eyes before meeting her gaze once more. "A week? I don't think I'll last more than a couple of days without at least a bit of treatment." He murmured, his tone mournful, his eyes hot.

Rei wasn't much of a dancer, but he couldn't help but sway to the music a little, matching his rhythm to Mariko's. "I remember." He murmured. "It was an excellent role." He took a casual sip. "So... when you leave a show, do you keep the outfits? I know I've heard of actors doing that." His gaze flickered casually down and back up again.

That brought an unscripted laugh from Mariko. It would take her a moment for the laughter to subside and for her to quickly recompose herself. "No, not typically...The wardrobe department takes their work very seriously, with all of the work they put in to painstakingly make it look like the real thing if it wasn't genuine, to begin with. They often want everything returned the moment it's not being used anymore."

She placed her glass on the table (provided that there was one in front of them) and traced her finger on the rim of the glass in thought. "Of course...I'm sure the props department is willing to make some exceptions, especially if an actor claims that they can better fulfill their role if they actually take home the costume and method act. A common tool of the trade in the job."

[Usagi Rei]

That brought an unscripted laugh from Mariko. It would take her a moment for the laughter to subside and for her to quickly recompose herself. Rei grinned, pleased once again to have gotten the gorgeous actress to break character. "What a shame." He murmured, shaking his head, still grinning.

But then she went on. "Mmm." Rei murmured. He didn't set his drink on the table, but he did rest his arm casually on it. "Well, in that case. This might be a fine opportunity to further hone your craft. Method acting a real chance to tend to the unwell."

He let the sway of the music take him a little closer. "And vice versa." He pitched his voice to carry only to her, before swaying back away again. Goodness, if he hadn't made a promise to show up to the party after this, he'd be suggesting leaving now...

[Kuni Koyuki]

"It's the sort of music I find great to work to. The way the pieces fit together is helpful when I'm doing all this spatial stuff in my head." Her own drink remains half full, bright colors swirled and muddied by now. "Haven't had a chance to really meet 'em, but they seem decent enough," the unspoken, 'for a Scorpion' hangs in the air. "How'd you run across 'em then?"

"They ran across me. First when I was looking to watching a movie I remembered from my childhood. Second, when-" she purses her lip. Shaking her head, but hesitating again. Looking toward the stage, the feeling still yet in the air from it all. Focusing back on Tsuyo she doesn't meet the other womans eyes, "-when I was in a place of solitude, mourning those I have lost," she said, touch quieter both from the somber nature and the simple fact it was not easy for her to share.

"They wished to speak of such troubles together, I suspect. I did not give them the opportunity," she says with some deal of shame.

[Soshi Kioku]

"Ahh finally an honorable soul,..." he squinted trying to make out his opposite, he recognized the red garment, so it was most likely a scorpion, "Scorpion-san."

He himself got down on his knees and tried to scan the ground, Himei, his yojimbo trying to make some space for the two of them. "I hope I'm not burdening you too much," he apologized to the unknown samurai.

She gave him one of her usual half-smiles. "No burden at all, Miya-sama", she says, hands searching around. "And hopefully it will be just a moment at any rate!".

Then she finds something. "Here! I think I have it". It takes her a while to be sure with the lightning effects, even with them having more space now, but it is a pair of glasses indeed. "Please, Miya-sama!", she says, extending it to him.

[Matsu Hide]

"I don't think the Lion have outfitted me with a uniform, not yet anyway. But I also have to be in charge too? That's a bit more tough! Aren't the Matsu supposed to be more cat-like than the other Lion families?" She mused out loud as her gaze slowly looked over to where Akodo Reki was found with her robotic cat ears, likely moving to the mood of the music.

"...Nevermind, really looks like Akodo-sama there has the whole package." She shook her head at herself. "Really a bummer when you can't get along with one of your embassy-mates."

"Maybe she senses my more dog-like traits?" Hide held up a hand and started to keep count as she continued to speak. "My loyal nature, my protectiveness, my tendency to feel like time is going soooo slowly when people I love aren't around..."

[Miya Nishida]

He took it and bowed in gratitude. After that, he cleaned the glasses and put them back on. Finally seeing again, he looked at the samurai in front of him, "Thank you. My name is Miya Nsihida. I am in your debt, "he called over the music, normally he would introduce himself fully, but the music was too loud and too many details would be lost in the noise.

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"Kitsune-sama is being too kind. I'm just a boring local girl with bad taste." Her fingers danced idly around the cocktail glass. "Kitsune-sama should meet more people."

"I meet a lot of people, Hotaru-san." he shook his head. "There aren't many I want to know better. There are very few like you."

"I don't know if it would be appropriate, especially when my character isn't exactly business of caring but more zip people into the hospital on an emergency basis. But, it does seem only fair if I were to answer an emergency call from you. I do owe you when you rushed in on short notice. Thankfully, nothing unbecoming happened when you were there..."

She would smirk at his words at first before bringing up what was on his mind. "I can only assume that you'll be involved in some after-party after the show?"

"Dog-like trait? Really?" Eriko couldn't help but snort at that thought. "I thought we settled this back at the convention when you were competing with a rock-eating giant lizard!"

She let out a content sigh and she reached out to put a hand on Hide's forearm. "Must have been tough out there in space, huh? You know, I didn't expect us to be pushed back into duty so soon and on separate boats, so to speak. Would have been at least nice if they kept us together like a courtier couple or something."

"Everyone starts somewhere." Rei murmured, smiling back.

The wink made Rei laugh, openly and honestly, shaking his head. He looked at her then, smiling, eyes tracing down and back up admiringly. "Okay. Soon then. I do owe you, after all." A little smirk; it wasn't just the drink he owed her after all.

Sighing, he tossed back the rest of his own drink, setting the glass down with a rattle. "Until then..." He moved towards the exit, stepping behind her, "-Mariko." He said softly as he slipped by her.

And then he was gone.

Mariko certainly felt those eyes on her and she looked down to adopt a slightly demure look before her gaze would meet his once more with a bold gaze. It was obvious that he wouldn't lose sight of her at the very least.

"Until then..." She said in return with her tone edging on intimate as she slipped past her.

Once he was gone, she would quietly make her own exit with little fanfare. It was just a chance encounter, after all.

Tsuyo nods, a momentary bubble of solemn understanding within the vibrant energy of the concert. "Nothin' wrong with keepin' that to yourself instead of sharin' with an almost stranger on a world that's notorious for lies and trickery."

"I meet a lot of people, Hotaru-san." he shook his head. "There aren't many I want to know better. There are very few like you."

"And sometiems I think, the world is better place for it." She shrugged in a self-depreciating way. As you do." Enough about me though. What does Kitsune-sama enjoy to do? Besides singing and acting, I guess."

“It wouldn’t have been tough out there on me as it was for you here. Sure they sent you somewhere you knew, but stuck you in the Embassy without anyone familiar.” Hide seemed more than happy to receive the touch on her forearm, her face visibly lighting up.
