(Day 12, LA) A Concert in the Park (Very Open)

Kiyoshi had found a nice open area where he could sit with the Detective and Goldwing. The monkey sat quietly watching the mechanical gardeners, while the drake flew about, enjoying the open space. The Fox plucked the strings of a samisen contemplatively for a time Soon however, he picked the instrument up properly and began to play.

He was still learning. But, he seemed to have a fair amount of natural skill.

Hato was leaving behind her life on the World of Dreams. While the ambassador felt that there was nothing of beauty on this world, Hato privately disagreed. She was allowed to see some of the World of Dreams one last time, as long as she didn't do anything blatantly dishonorable. She was under observation and her finances were gone, so it wasn't like she could afford to get into any real trouble. So the garden was a good place to visit one last time.

She listened to the Kitsune playing the shamisen appreciatively. The music was soothing. She had a song to offer after a time, which Kiyoshi could either play along to, or simply appreciate.

I think of you,
Whenever I listen to this song,
It always used to be on,
When you drove me home.
There isn't a sad love,
You said so,
If you love someone,
There's nothing else you need.

Sing for me forever,
I loved you,
It made me want to cry.
I miss you always,
I just honestly made my choice,
Even if, by saying goodbye,
The two of us become a memory.

We celebrated your victory together,
At a small restaurant,
The name has changed,
I only pass it by,
Live true to yourself,
Parting completely.

Sing for me forever,
When I'm about to lose my way or be disheartened,
I miss you always,
I mutter your words to myself,
I close my eyes,
and I can hear the painful splendor.

Sing for me forever,
I loved you,
It made me want to cry,
I miss you always,
I just honestly made my choice,
Even if, by saying goodbye,
The two of us become a memory."

Taiguno was present in the garden, wandering with a rice ball he had gotten from the temple for lunch. He noted the performers and found a spot to listen from. The monk clapped for them when they finished.

Kiyoshi had played along as best he could, most lyjust adding a quiet background melody to the ronin's performance.

"That was very beautiful, Hato-san." he said once she has finished.

Hato bowed deeply to her fellow performer and their polite audience member.

"You are quite talented yourself, Lord Fox." she offered graciously. "This one is glad that this one had the opportunity to perform with Lord Fox this one time. Who knows when our paths will cross again?"

For his part, Taiguno returned the bow but didn't interject as the other two seemed to know each other. But he figured that a light chant that wasn't loud enough to interfere with conversation couldn't hurt. So he began a mantra chant...

...because monks can be strange.

Perhaps surprisingly, the quality of the his voice makes for an impressive chant.

"I hope our paths do cross." he said. "It would be disappointing, if I did not see you again."

The chanting wasn't disruptive, but Kiyoshi did pause to give the performance the attention it deserved.

Hato also took a moment to appreciate the monk's chant. While it wasn't something you'd find very popular outside of a fungus-ridden Phoenix backwater, it was fairly calming.

She was mildly surprised by the Kitsune's words. She hadn't thought she had made that much of an impression on him, after all, he was a famous star, and she was a nobody ronin. Was it just the sort of generic courtesy a star gave to a fan, or did she actually move him and she hadn't noticed it?

"Ah, well....they probably won't cross against here, Lord Fox. Soon this one will leave behind this world and the name Hato as well." she admitted.

She looked at him curiously.

"What about you, Lord Fox? Where will you go now?"

"I'm staying here for a little longer." He held his hand out for Goldwing to land on. "I have a few things to do yet."
