Following echoes of unsettling sounds, the characters stumble on a ghastly sight - a creature far larger than any living man hunched over a madly mangle corpse, gnawing what remains of a thigh bone it its large jaws. The beast is covered in shaggy, dark fur, it's head nothing but an empty skull of a beast long lead, red eyes gleaming where eyes once were. The creature's blood-stained claws are long as wakizashi, its left paw still lodged in the pitiful carcass laying on the ground. Seeing the characters, the horrid beast rears its monstrous head, roaring defiantly even as it turns its attention to door leading to the residential building. Regardless of what the beast is, it has no right to exist in ningen-do!

Your initial post should include your character's reaction to the situation as well as your initial Initiative Roll and your unarmored TN to be hit (No character can be assumed to wear armor within the city). You can roll for Stealth, but due to the search lights you have to call a Raise for no effect if you chose to do so. You may also roll Lore: Spirit Realms / Intelligence - with Raises providing more information.
The beast is 60' from the characters - while the characters are 80' away from the safety of a guard tower.
