"You address the blessed Otomo Koroshi-sama. He's uh" What had he said "an esteemed member of the Imperial Embassy and courtier assigned planetside for the duration of the Winter Court. He wishes to speak with you regarding a grave matter."

"Honorable samurai, this is Mirumoto Shigure as well as the ronin Yūrei and Akuta." Koroshi would point to each of them. "Yūrei-san, Mirumoto-san, and myself just had a run in with a very large and very upset gaki over there."

He pointed the 80' or so towards the intersection of the residential buildings. "It had a skull head, very large claws", here the Otomo gestured to his ruined peach shirt with blood and the Mirumoto's injuries, "and some kind of aura of rage and shame. It struck Mirumoto-san and myself and we had to burn it in our most honorable self-defense. It was really very large and not on the right side of the barrier. As these other honorable samurai will attest, the gaki was on the residential side of the wall and had just finished eating someone or something. I expect some poor missing person will not be found anymore."

The Otomo realized he was rambling again and got to the point. "After burning most of the gaki to ash there was a sword left in its remains, which I will be taking back to the Imperial embassy. Mirumoto-san, and myself would like another shugenja to take a look at our wounds, I am not most excellent at healing to this one's most humble shame. Also any lingering miasma needs cleaning from us and the remains which are over there. Look for the pile of bones."

The two guards bobbed their heads, allowing their weapons to fall to the side. Pointing a gun at Otomo was never a good game plan, Scorpion or no Scorpion. "Gaki? Otomo-sama." one of the men asked, as if to confirm with the other one reaching for his coms. "Code 404 at Point 54B. Repeat, Code 404."

"Excellent initiative, Otomo-sama." the guardsman not occupied with comms chirped. "Most excellent. We should have a team coming in soon, yes." he nodded, nudging at his friend who nodded as well. "Should you need medical assistance, that is." An injured Otomo was far larger problem than some poor dead sod. Dead had few complaints after all. "We will look into the matter as soon as we get the shugenja support. Otomo-sama and his... retinue are free to wait at the tower, if they would like to." he offered, waving his hand at the tall tower that watched over the desolation. "Also, we would like to ask for you contact information, in case Lord Magistrate might want a word with Otomo-sama on a later occasion." Guardsman added, sounding a little bit nervous, his friend repeating the '404' into his communicator as if the person on the other end was deaf or stupid.

"Uh... sword, Otomo-sama?" The guardsman asked, making a mental note how much he hated his life at that moment. "Might Otomo-sama allow us to document the item at least, just to be safe?" he reached for his communicator, hoping he could snap some pictures of the item. "Yes, we have a spiritual team coming in soon. They will tend to your wounds and offer appropriate rites. I would think, at least."

He handed the guard one of his cards with his name and number and a tiny doodle of a cloud on the back. "I will not speak for the others but I would recommend that we all seek some manner of purification."

As for the sword the Otomo was willing to hold it out in front of him for the Scorpion to snap pictures of. "It was in the heart of the gaki, as you can see it has suffered some heat damage though not from me."

As the Scorpion spoke with the Otomo, Akuta gave them a nod and then took a step away. Reaching into a pocket, he pulls out an old, beaten up communicator on which he dials in a few numbers and lifts it to his ear, waiting for someone to answer on the other side.

"Thank you for this honor, Otomo-sama." the guardsman looked at the card, taking it in both hands and turning it over before tucking it into his pocket. "We do not expect the need for the magistrates to contact Otomo-sama, but we do want to cover all possible eventualities." Meanwhile, the other guardsman kept yelling "Where's that 404!" into his communicator.

"Yes, thank you." the Scorpion samurai snapped pictures of the sword with shaking hands, bobbing his head when he was done. "Thank you very much, Otomo-sama."

In distance, sirens could be heard and soon a van would pull over, a small group of Soshi priests wearing sacred vestments and bearing both scared branches and braziers brimming with incense would walk to the scene, bobbing their heads as they offered to perform the rites of purification, with the youngest of the shugenja present pulling out an elaborate scroll, offering to heal anyone who wished so.

"One of our hungry neighbors just got out of the fence and tried fileting an Otomo and a Mirumoto. I'm sure you can find out where from the reports...but the Otomo recovered a sword with a veiled and pincered mon on it."

The ronin walked back away from the tower towards the remains of the gaki as he talked and when he made it to the pile of bones and fur, he performed the obligatory double tap, severing the skull away from any bones it may have still been attached to.

"No casualties, just injuries. They're getting tended to by one of your teams at the moment, but given the conversation with your boss, you might want to talk to them. Otomo's a shugenja and burned most of it to ashes. Tell your boss I've got a piece for her mantle though."

Akuta ruffled through the remainder of the remains with a boot to see if he could spot anything else, but given the condition he doubted it.

"Right, right. I take someone has called actual help?" the voice asked, sounding concerned. "Right, good. I will the Soshi-sama, yes. Please see sending that piece to us by courier. You will be compensated." the voice added. "Thank you for your services, wolf." With that the line was cut, the voice on the other hand seeming to have better things to do.
