[Kitsu Kanna]

If someone was watching the party through one of these Kitsu devices that made honor visible to the raw eye as a form of bright light, then the party would look to them as a sinister dance of gray shadows, a grim carnival of barely distinguishable ghosts.

Except for one radiant blade of white fire cutting through the mist of debauchery with the steadfastness of the samurai knowing her cause to be righteous and the displeasure of the human who would rather had been at home in actual good company.

[Asahina Hinata]

Hinata was there dressed in an exquisite quality powder blue outfit. The top was slashed off the shoulder leaving his left arm bare while the right was long sleeved with a frills. The pants went down to mid calf which left his ankles mostly bare with the flat silken slippers he wore.

He was mostly distracted by the floorboards.

"Oh cool! That one sounds like an owl!"

[Bayushi Senshuken]

Bayushi Senshuken is there. She's dressed in an elegant black dress, black high heels and a red plain mask. Not the most comfortable or her favorite type of utfit, but duty! The dutiful courtier is, ok, let's say, tipsy and not drunk. She smiles roadly and is up for chatting.

[Kuni Koyuki]

Koyuki wears an elegant black dress that does not help one spot her easily. Elegant blend of kimono and other styles the attire overall has a very masculine presence about it while not losing touch with the woman's femininity. A powerful affair that is masked slightly in this atmosphere. Standing apart from the outfit rather dramatically of course is the woman's Kuni face-paint which is as much of a statement as it always is. Electing, today, not to reveal the fade she wears and letting her hair down so that it's covered. Creating a vastly different aura for the woman, intimidating still but not for fear of what she might do. Instead creating something of a presence that she might judge another far too harshly and leave an ego permanently scarred.

What those who knew Koyuki knew best was that the woman always manages to not let either two of those capabilities slack.

[Susumu Yakumo]

Yakumo moved between a few conversations, nursing a cup of sake carefully as she seemed distracted by the dance of the junior maiko. Impeccably dressed in an ensemble that combined her Spider aesthetics with hints of her Crane training, the idol seemed a tad distracted compared to how she had been at the masquerade the night before.

Yamako swirled through the crowd, her eyes only slightly wider than usual. Her gown is a slightly daring purple cutout dress, with cut outs around the midsection, short sleeves and small slits. But in this crowd, she looks like a dowager. She sips her drink slowly, letting it all sink in.

"Ide-san," Yakumo called out to the familiar petite Unicorn in her soft sing-song voice. With a glass of something bubbly in hand, she easily closed the last few steps of distance between them, the sweeping fabric of her dress making a dramatic billowy motion around her. "I haven't seen you since New Kalani, oh dear - you look wonderful!"

Yamako used the protection of sipping her drink for a moment to calm her whirling mind. You're in public, you'll be ok. She can't do anything to you right here. Wait...would Scorpion care? Kami, help me.

"Susumu-san! Its been too long!" She said with what sounded like actual cheer and gladness in her voice. "Your dress is utterly fantastic, where did you have it made?"

Looking her over again. "And how have you been since I last saw you? Busy I know with the Idol life but I hope enjoying yourself as well?"

It was wonderful that Yogo-sama was able to share his wishes to woo a partner for his son. That might have been a step too far to get someone's attention, although she found herself wondering if her father would have done the exact same thing if he was still around. Perhaps far more flattering to think of herself as Fumie in this situation, to have someone's father go head over heels to garner your attention. Wait. No. Scratch that. Yogo Masafuni has always been something of a creeper I hear. You'd think that he was courting Fumie...

Mariko would make her appearance dressed in a lavish black evening gown, present to do some mingling or merely indulge herself in some expensive hospitality. It was difficult being a Scorpion celebrity.

Nishida, drunk and in a good mood, had just finished laughing at a lowly official for his poverty and was looking for some replenishment for his sake.

It was a slightly bewildered Rei, dressed in his formal greys and whites, that found himself standing next to Senshuken. He smiled, taking a sip from his sake cup, but his eyes were just a little wild as they darted in, the normally alert Hare just a touch overwhelmed by the sheer variety of sights and sounds.

Turning to the nearby Bayushi, Rei bowed. "Bayushi-san. Good evening. I hope you're enjoying yourself?" His smile turned into a thoughtful frown as he studied her features. Darn it, she looked so familiar, but his thoughts were all a jumble...

Mariko had helped herself to a light bit of refreshments. There was no need to spoil herself here, considering it seemed some guests are indulging themselves enough to take her portion of the hospitality. She would give a nod to the approaching Asako, looking unsure if he was going to put two and two together. "Good evening...Yes, I did participate yesterday. Thank you. I did have the advantage of going first, admittedly. That was an exhausting evening but entertaining. How did you find it, Asako-san?"

Yes, though no thanks to all those rumors running around New Kalani. I do still wonder who started all those.

"Yes, we had a lovely time meeting each other's families prior and settling the contracts. Children will come in their time but we both have our duty to occupy us at present." She takes a sip of her drink. "And what of you Susumu-san? Are you pondering marriage?"

[Kuni Koyuki]

Koyuki kept to her little space she found for herself among the festivities. Conditions inside the establishment weren't all that conducive to keeping a good track of people and faces. However, Koyuki did give it her best and all. Seeking out those familiar once on occassion. Yakumo more than the rest, Rei second most, those two came to her mind frequently while she sat and pondered her situation. Not quite ready to push herself in front of another person herself yet. Though she easily could have if she wanted to. No, right now she was quite satisfied with simply observing the party around.

Yamako got a glance eventually by natural association, a fond memory there of a woman whom she spent some time with in the part last week. It was a nice walk through the calmness of it all, and her presence certainly had eased her mind at the time. Admittedly, she was thankful for it.

Mariko eventually got a glance as well. A woman she felt some kinship with for a few reasons though it seemed destined that perhaps their paths would never cross too directly. Still, it didn't hurt to have a friendly acquaintance out there. Someone she might turn to for distraction from time to time.

Nishida was not a man she knew well, pleasant enough however. There was Crab blood in him, which was important enough to Koyuki that even their brief interaction put him on this list of faces that drew her eye.

Even the scorpion, Senshuken, whom she didn't remember the name of or perhaps never knew. That woman was a simple moment of distraction of a time of great need for her. It wasn't much, but it was something.

Out of all those present, their memories of moments she'd spent and all the time with them that she had. None of it held any mention or importance of the one woman whom at one point of her life she would happily have given it all to and for. Looking down at her communicator she glares down at the information keyed in with the decision to just delete in feeling a foreign and scary thought. Or perhaps to call, and see what happened? How her mind focused on that digital representation of a direct source to a woman whom claimed so much of her life, a woman who tormented her thoughts.

She closed the comm, and put it away. Drowning her thinking in the action of taking a drink.
