[Yoritomo Seika]

Watanabe heiress and (slightly-)noted shugenja adventuress Seika has no difficulty securing an invitation to Soshi Ayame's gallery opening. She actually does find some of the art rather interesting, and has a few rather enjoyable conversations about various of the pieces with other gallery patrons. The video footage of Hotaru Tsuyo's asteroid installation is especially intriguing, not least because she'd met the artist at the party she and Sakura threw just a few days earlier.

Her social prestige makes her a desirable guest, but the gallery atmosphere brings out Hoshi more than the (semi-)reserved Watanabe Seika--she bounces here and there chewing Scorpion-branded gum and occasionally wielding a Mantis-branded holorecorder. Alas, most of her pictures tonight don't come out as she envisions them; the light is low in some parts of the gallery but bright and harsh overhead in others, and Seika's trying to be quick and casual so as not to bother the hostess or anyone else, which isn't conducive to careful positioning nor longer exposures that could counter the dark conditions.

Tsuyo could hardly miss the event, pre-show jitters or no. It was interesting watching the fashion shift as guests divined that, unlike more recent parties, the attendees' outfits were not supposed to outshine Ayame's proudly displayed art--but everyone still wanted to be noticed and have all the usual unspoken conversations through their fashion choices. Yes...people watching was a great way to forget one's own nerves. Her own silver-grey vest, draped to mid-thigh over a tunic of Firefly earthen brown and comfortable palazzo pants in a cheerful gold. It was quiet compared to much of the high fashion; but that was a message in itself. Her work could display all the flash that warranted an invitation here, and the luxurious silk spoke of enough wealth that she might not be merely a one-season wonder.

Given the Theologically-oriented nature of her own work, she enjoyed her chance to see the other new works. She was particularly keen to see Tetsuo's new work, always vibrant, with layers of spiritual meaning that required more than one viewing to tease apart...at least in her experience.

Inevitably though, as one of the artists with work on display, she had to spend a fair amount of time being entertaining and interactive, providing the guests with diversion beyond the art on display. At least, if she had to be distracted from the show, she was able to pull some useful information from them in return.

She turned with a few small steps and a thump of cane on floor before bowing deeply. "Hard not to enjoy seein' a year's worth of work finally in front of an audience, Soshi-sama. Honored to see it in such company." She gestures toward the nearby displays. "Soshi-sama's collection has some depth to it."

A slightly bored Bayushi Senshuken is around and trying hard to hide her boredom with random smiles and chit chat.

Slipping away from a particularly obnoxious Soshi, Reki move back into the crowd to ponder exactly how to leave the gallery without it being noted and mocked by her prior conversation partners. She needed a drink.

As always, she was dressed fashionably for these gatherings, this time her outfit combined the colors of the Spider, Crane, and Mantis.

The minor clanner approached the diva, and bowed deeply. "Susumu-sama, your concert was amazing the other night. It was one of the best nights of my life."

Another party, another dress. This time in Kakita Ruri's frilly, lacey, gothic style, but still in Crane blue and with thigh highs. Never going to give up on his favourites after all. His hair had been braided up into twin tails, one behind each ear.

In a gap between conversations the Crane Idol looked a little down. This being almost a boring party to him, apart from the sparkly insides of the asteroid, so he went back to stare at the drone footage of those again.

"Sparkles so pretty . . . "

The diva chuckled softly. "It's weird how quickly I miss being on stage, even after I am done with a tour."

"Honor is all mine." the wicked witch purred, sounding rather pleased, even if it was hard to tell if she was pleased with herself or with Tsuyo's work. "So daring, so ground-breaking. So very unique, yes. I am thrilled." She showered the Firefly with praise. "Of course, it has. One is not a casual collector of fine arts, tsk." Tsuyo could see her patron wrinkling her nose as if the idea of being 'casual' was something dirty. "But yes, Yogo-san makes such interesting compositions. His work are so so full of life." As it happened, Yogo Tetsuo carved images of Fortunes at work, though preferring morbid subjects such as Emma-O and Kamashi-Okara.

Another day, another Scorpion party.

The risks of getting drunk into oblivion seemed less so tonight, but with buffet already devoured by a swarm of locusts wearing mons, starvation was an option.

That, or dying of boredom.

"I did... I really enjoy being on stage," she smiled and nodded to the Firefly. "For me it doesn't come close. It is just a completely different experience, to stand on stage, and let my voice - my song - be heard by so many people. Knowing that some of those songs I sing might hit some people very personally too."

Yakumo had to stop herself from getting too carried away about it. "I met this ronin, very sweet girl, named Yurei. She was very fond of one of my songs, because it was one that had helped her through some difficult times, and... it means a lot to me to hear that."

"I'm glad the work finds favor here, with those as can appreciate it, and can stand as a reminder of the court. The chance to work at such scale is always appreciated, and not always easy to find." Tsuyo doesn't deflect the praise with false modesty, though she doesn't find her own work all that daring these days, though..."literally ground-breakin', but honestly, it's access to some've the Soshi lightin' tech that made this concept pop. I hope the sculptures that wished to rejoin their long-separated brethren on the moon and planetside have brought some harmony."

A bit more generally..."I hope the season's seen Soshi-sama well. With this fete finished, does your schedule relax a bit?"

"Well, there are only so many asteroids within easy reach, yes?" Wicked Witch asked with a wry smile on her lips. "But that is all for the better, for it makes your art all the more unique! Unique!" She seemed rather convinced that no-one else could could quite do what Tsuyo had done. "Your work will be admired for months to come - and for a reason. Groundbreaking, yes-yes!" She seemed ecstatic, almost as if she was high on designer drugs. Which was not entirely unlikely. Soshi Ayame had earned some fame for her prophetic visions that she was rumored to chase with help of esoteric rituals and modern narcotics. "Oh, one is always busy. There are always some matters to attend to." There was a short pause, the rather agitated patron of arts leaning closer. "Though, if Hotaru-san would want to discuss fine arts in more private setting, I am sure we could arrange something, mhmhm?"

Sumiko, back in her usual kimono style , had remained beside one of the paintings of what looked like a scene from Chikushudo. Studying it for something...likely any accuracy.

Leaving a Scorpion woman giggling warmly in their departure, the comparably icy Kuni shifts her attention elsewhere in the party. Holding a beautiful tall glass of some light colored translucent alcohol at the stem between her first two fingers. Wearing her rather daring dress with a level of sophistication was was befitting her even if she wasn't herself much of a socialite. A truth that was fairly evident in the manner with which she scans the room with eyes that almost sought targets more than anything else.

That was until her gaze rests upon Seika, and the familiarity of her appearance draws Koyuki's attention in. With some good work done for the night she could at least allow herself this bit of relaxation and finds herself beside the woman not but a moment later.
